An invitation from NASPL President Mark Zamarripa, Director, Colorado Lottery
Dear Lottery Professional, When Renée Robert Cavalier, Sieur de la Salle came down the Mississippi River from Canada in the 1700s and ended up in New Orleans he knew a good thing when he saw it, and today’s lottery industry is no different. What better place to hold a national conference than the Big Easy.
This year, the Louisiana Lottery will host NASPL ’03 on September 14th through the 18th. On behalf of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries, I personally invite you to attend.
I realize keeping your focus during this conference will be difficult considering all the wonderful restaurants, historical locations and, of course, the party atmosphere New Orleans has to offer. But I am confident, this year’s conference will rival any event taking place in the city.
Attendees will be treated to seminars covering the hot topics of the day, along with issues that may arise in the future. Also featured during the conference will be keynote speakers who will share their experiences in the hopes of providing us with solutions and methods beneficial to making our professional and personal lives more successful.
The city of New Orleans is used to doing things in a big way, from the Super Dome to Mardi Gras, bigger is better. This theme will continue at NASPL ’03 with the largest tradeshow in the industry. Vendors and lotteries alike will share their visions of the future along with current products and ideas being used by today’s lotteries.
Every year, NASPL’s Annual Fall Conference offers lottery members the opportunity to come together to help make our industry stronger than ever. Over the next few years, lotteries will face a number of changes as the next generation of technology, games, and player demographics, among other things, evolve.
I look forward to seeing you in New Orleans, where together we will share the knowledge needed to secure the future of our industry.

An invitation from your host Randy Davis, President and CEO, Louisiana Lottery Corporation
Greetings from Louisiana: On behalf of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, the State of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans you are invited to join us for the 2003 North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries Convention September 14-17.
Since the curtain closed on last years convention, the staff of the Louisiana Lottery and our good friends in the NASPL office have been working diligently to ensure that your participation in the 2003 Convention will be one of your best ever NASPL experiences. We want your visit to the "Big Easy" to be informative, inspirational, and entertaining. In addition to experiencing our fabled Southern Hospitality, you'll also get a taste of the Mardi Gras spirit that prevails year round in New Orleans.
We have looked to "NASPL" for the ingredients of our 2003 "Recipe for Success" - New Orleans, Astonishing food, Spectacular sights, Powerful speakers and Legendary entertainers.
Mix all of that together and add a popular New Orleans phrase, "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler," or "Let The Good Times Roll" and you can see that a meaningful and exciting event is being put together for this year's convention.
Have you ever eaten Crawfish Etouffe' or Oysters Bienville after a breakout session, strolled to a Dixieland Jazz beat on famed Bourbon Street at the end of the day or listened to your companion excitedly describe a Voodoo tour? All of those things and so much more are opportunities waiting for you.
This is a convention you don't want to miss! As they say on radio, "Stay tuned!"
