INTRALOT Announce 1H14 Financial Results

Strong Sales Growth & Resilient EBITDA - Robust Cash Flow

ATHENS, Greece (August 14, 2014) -- INTRALOT S.A., the leading international gaming company, today announces its financial results for the six month period ending June 30th 2014, prepared in accordance with IFRS.

Consolidated Revenues posted an increase of 26.3% reaching €905.5m in 1H14 compared to €717.2m in 1H13. On a constant currency basis, net of a negative FX impact of €63.8m, revenues reached €969.3m, posting an increase of 35.1% y-o-y in 1H14. EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization) in the first 6 months where shaped at €89.5m, compared to €97.7m in the same period in 2013. Net of a negative FX impact of €8.6m, EBITDA reached €98.1m in 1H14, an increase of 0.4% compared to the same period of 2013. EBT reached 20.2m from €25.7m in 1H13. On a constant currency basis, net of a negative FX impact of €8.0m, EBT reached €28.2m, posting an increase of 9.9% y-o-y in 1H14. EAT (after minorities) in 1H14 were shaped at -€24.1m.

Cash Flow from Operations reached €32.5m in the 6M 2014 period, posting an increase of 16.0% compared to the same period of 2013 due to operational efficiencies that are being deployed.

Revenues for the Parent Company in 1H14 were €47.9m, EBITDA reached €16m and Earnings After Taxes (EAT) where shaped at a negative €3.3m.

Commenting on the 1H14 Results INTRALOT Group CEO, Mr. Constantinos Antonopoulos, noted: “As we have completed the first half of the FY 2014 period, we are very satisfied to have extended the duration of five of our existing contracts in North America, Australia and Asia and added a new major contract in the US. As we have mentioned in the recent past, these developments follow on the steps of our strategy to capitalize on our presence in existing jurisdictions. From a financial stand point, the Group posted in the second quarter a significant growth in operating cash-flow generation and a decrease of its net debt. Furthermore, the refinancing of our syndicated loan extended the Group’s debt maturities as we have no refinancing issues for at least the next three years, confirming the banking sector’s trust and support towards our strategy and business outlook.”

Billy Gardell Set to Host “Monopoly Millionaires’ Club™”

LOS ANGELES, California (August 6, 2014) -- Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS) and participating state lotteries have tapped comedian and actor Billy Gardell(“Mike &am p; Molly,” “You, Me and Dupree”) to host the forthcoming “MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB,” a one-­hour, weekly syndicated game show based on the iconic MONOPOLY® brand, which will serve as the companion television series for the upcoming, multi-­state lottery game of the same name.

The combination of a multi-­state premium lottery and a national television game show is a first for both the lottery and television industries.

"I love MONOPOLY! I've played this game with friends and family since 1979,” said Gardell. “Hosting a big game show is a bucket list level type of job for me. I've always had a big time game show as one of my goals, and to have the opportunity to be a part of MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB is a real honor. It's an iconic game that resonates with everyone, and I want to see someone win one million dollars!”

Billy has incredible comedic talents and he is also a huge fan of games and MONOPOLY in particular. “MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB” will be produced in front of a live studio audience in Las Vegas, Nevada and premiere early 2015. More than $2.5 million in prize money will be up for grabs on each episode. Contestants on the television show will be selected from the studio audience. The studio audience will be made up of winners of the “MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB” multi-­?state premium lottery game which goes on sale October 19, 2014. To qualify to win the four-­night, five-­day trip for two to Las Vegas, lottery players will register their lottery tickets online.

Gaming Laboratories International Completes WLA-SCS & ISO 27001 Certification Audit for California Lottery

MONCTON, New Brunswick, Canada (August 12, 2014) – Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®) has successfully completed a World Lottery Association Security Controls (WLA-SCS) and ISO 27001 Information Security Management Certification audit for the California Lottery. The audit and certification were conducted by GLI’s Professional Services Division.

With the successful audit and certification, the California Lottery becomes the only lottery in the United States to hold the WLA-Security Control Standard (WLA-SCS) and ISO 27001 Certifications.

Camelot Becomes First Lottery in the World to be Awarded the Carbon Trust Standard

LONDON, U.K. (August 9, 2014) -- Camelot, the operator of the UK National Lottery, has become the first lottery in the world to be awarded the Carbon Trust Standard. The certification recognises Camelot’s ongoing achievements in reducing greenhouse gas emissions year on year, which were lowered by 4.6% in absolute terms between 2012 and 2014. The reductions achieved were a result of improvements in energy efficiency, as well as a focus on reducing the emissions from the company’s transport fleet.

Financial savings have also been made by reducing energy costs and carbon emissions, and are helping to further reinforce Camelot’s status as most the cost-efficient major lottery in Europe – with around 4% of total revenue spent on operating costs. This approach also ties in with Camelot’s objective to maximise returns to National Lottery Good Causes through selling tickets in a socially-responsible way, which sees the company deliver, on average, over £33 million each week to the Good Causes.

As part of its environmental sustainability activity, Camelot has implemented a number of innovative energy efficiency programmes across its estate. Initiatives have included installing voltage optimisers and automatic lighting in all its offices, as well as automatic timers on meeting room heating and cooling controls. LED lighting and sensors have been fitted in the company’s warehouse in Watford, and are currently being rolled out to its distribution centre in Northampton.

In terms of energy management, Camelot set up an Energy Team – consisting of members from a number of relevant departments across the business and an external consultant from energy monitoring platform, Building Sustainability – which meets regularly to monitor current energy use patterns and identify possible future projects. To help with this, energy trackers have been installed in many of Camelot’s offices, allowing the Energy Team to track energy usage and pinpoint areas of high consumption for future action.

Likewise, a commitment to ensuring that vehicles in company’s sales fleet are as low carbon as possible has led to average carbon dioxide emissions of 110 grams per kilometre, making it one of the greenest fleets operated by Camelot’s provider – the average emissions for a new UK car are 128.3 grams per kilometre. The company also ensures that it procures all its energy on renewable energy tariffs.

Outside of its work on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Camelot takes a broader perspective on sustainability. This is done by reducing use of resources and waste as far as possible, as well as maximising recycling rates and using more sustainable alternatives, such as FSC-certified paper, for lottery tickets. Progress is reviewed regularly, and stakeholders are actively encouraged to adopt technologies and practices that will improve their own environmental performance.

  • National Lottery funding of over £10 million has gone to parks, woodlands and allotments in the last 12 months (DCMS database).
  • National Lottery funding of over £300,000 has gone to woodland projects over the past 12 months, which is enough to plant around 5,000 oak trees (DCMS database).
  • National Lottery funding of over £211,000 has gone to school recycling projects over the past 12 months – that would buy 84,000 pads of recycled paper (DCMS database).

Wyoming Lottery Sponsors Wyoming State Fair

CHEYENNE, Wyoming (August 8, 2014) -- The Wyoming Lottery Corporation today announced its sponsorship of the Wyoming State Fair, one of Wyoming’s largest attended single events, attracting over 45,000 visitors from all over Wyoming and the region.

Some Lucky Keno Players Will Win Double Prizes August 10-23

TOPEKA, Kansas (August 10, 2014) -- The Kansas Lottery is once again giving its players a chance to double their Keno prizes for a limited time only! From August 10 through August 23, some Keno tickets will be designated KENO DOUBLER tickets. Prizes won on these KENO DOUBLER tickets will be doubled. (Some exceptions apply.*)

25th Australasian Gaming Expo Attracts Large Crowd

SYDNEY, Australia (August 13, 2014) -- The 25th Australasian Gaming Expo now under way at the Sydney Convention Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island attracted a large crowd for its first day on Tuesday.  What they came to see was the world’s best and latest gaming and hospitality equipment – and that’s exactly what they got.

The event owners and operators, the Gaming Technologies Association, added to the fun by offering a trip for 2 to Las Vegas for each day of the Expo which on Tuesday was won by Tony Mathew from Wests Campbelltown Leagues Club.

180 exhibition stands put in a huge effort to make the event a welcoming, entertaining and innovative exhibition showcase.  Of these, the judges’ compliments were extended to a 25 year veteran, Plantscaping Solutions and newcomer QALAB.

Press conference to Announce Location of First Lottery Ticket sale to be held on Aug. 18

CHEYENNE, Wyoming (August. 14, 2014) -- On Monday, Aug. 18 at noon, Secretary of State Max Maxfield will help the Wyoming Lottery Corporation announce the name of the Wyoming resident who will buy the first lottery ticket and where the lottery ticket will be sold during a press conference in Cheyenne.

The announcement will be held at the Wyoming Lottery headquarters, located at 1620 Central Avenue, in Cheyenne. Maxfield will be joined by Wyoming Governor Matt Mead and Lottery officials at the announcement. The announcement will be streamed live and available for viewing at www.wyolotto.com/launch-day-giveaway

A press release about the winner and the location of the first ticket sale will be sent out to the media, immediately following the press conference.

Wisconsin Lottery Breaks Sales Record for Third Straight Year

Provides estimated $160 million in property tax relief

MADISON, Wisconsin (August 8, 2014) --  The Wisconsin Lottery set an all-time record with $568.8 million in ticket sales in the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2014, Wisconsin Lottery Director Mike Edmonds announced today. The $568.8 million tops the previous record of $565.6 million set in 2013, making three consecutive years of record sales.

"It was another good year for taxpayers and for thousands of business owners and lottery players throughout Wisconsin" Edmonds said.

"Lottery retailers received over $38 million in commissions. Players took home more than $280 million in prizes during the year, including eight $1 million winners"

The $568.8 million in sales generates $160 million in property tax relief for Wisconsin homeowners, down $4 million from the prior year. Edmonds said fiscal year 2013 was an extraordinary year for Powerball, with two jackpots over $500 million. Powerball has higher profit margins than other games, which contributed to higher net operating income last year.

 

 

Sales were up for instant games, partially due to the introduction of a $30 scratch ticket.

Due to the lack of large jackpots in fiscal year 2014, Powerball sales alone were down 24%.

However overall lotto sales were helped by the addition of 5 Card Cash, a new $2 lotto game introduced in April.

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (August 7, 2014) -- Arkansas began offering Decades of Dollars on May 5, 2011 and will not be participating in any drawings after October 16, 2014. Decades of Dollars, is a $2 multi-state draw game.  Drawings will still be held at 10 p.m. CT on Monday and Thursday, until the final drawing on Thursday October 16, 2014.  Six numbered balls are drawn from 1 to 47.  If all your numbers match those that are drawn, you win $250,000 per year for 30 years, or $4 million cash. Secondary prizes range from $2, for matching two of the six numbers drawn all the way to the $10,000 prize, for matching five of the six numbers drawn.

Maryland Lottery and Casinos Contribute More Than $849.2 Million to the State in Fiscal Year 2014

Total Revenue Contributions Surpass Previous Year by 2.4%

BALTIMORE, Maryland (August 11, 2014) -- The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA or Agency) today announced FY2014 sales and revenue.

Together, traditional lottery and casinos sent $849.2 million to the state’s General Fund and Education Trust Fund, respectively, an increase of 2.4% from the previous fiscal year.

Traditional lottery sales dipped slightly from FY2013 with the agency generating $1.724 billion in sales, down 1.7% from $1.756 billion, and contributing $521.1 million in revenue to the state’s General Fund, down 4.45% from $545 million.

Lottery sales certainly have been impacted by the growth of Maryland’s casino industry,” MLGCA Director Stephen Martino said. “But we continue to innovate and modernize our traditional lottery brand so we can better compete for the public’s entertainment dollars."

"A reduction in traditional lottery revenue occurred last fiscal year, but that money combined with Education Trust Fund proceeds from casinos produced an overall increase in gaming revenue to the state.”

Year-end highlights include:

  • Traditional lottery sales: $1.724 billion;
  • Traditional lottery revenue:  $521.1 million;
  • Commissions earned by retailers: $122.1 million;
  • Prizes paid to players: more than $1.024 billion; and
  • Operational expenses: remained consistent at just 3.3% of total sales.

 

Mega Millions and Powerball, the Maryland Lottery’s multi-state jackpot games, registered a combined $206.3 million in sales. Combined sales for all Lottery jackpot games -- Mega Millions, Powerball, Bonus Match 5 and Multi-Match -- totaled $254.5 million.

The Maryland Lottery’s monitor games, which include Keno and Racetrax, had combined sales of $466.2 million.

In other game sales figures, Pick 3 totaled $244.5 million, Pick 4 sales came in at $270.8, and 5 Card Cash brought in $8.4 million.

The Lottery’s instant games, or scratch-offs, garnered $479.6 million in sales.

Casino gaming at the state’s four operating casinos generated $833,309,539 in revenue, with $328,094,739 sent to the state’s Education Trust Fund.

Year-end highlights include:

  • Contributions of $328.1 million to the Education Trust Fund (ETF), an increase of $43.8 million from FY2013. This fund supports early childhood education, public elementary and secondary education, public school construction and capital improvement projects in the state.
  • In addition to the ETF contribution, FY2014 slot machine revenue benefited the following:  Maryland Horse Racing Purse Dedication Account ($38.9 million), local impact grants ($30.8 million), Racetrack Facility Renewal Account ($9.5 million), MLGCA operating costs ($11.6 million) and Small, Minority & Women-Owned Businesses Account ($8.4 million).
  • Employment at Maryland’s four casinos grew to approximately 4,000 in FY2014, with full-time employees benefiting from comprehensive healthcare and retirement investment options.

 

The MLGCA staff and employees will continue to maximize revenue for the good causes of Maryland by promoting the responsible sale of lottery games and from the thorough, transparent regulation of casinos,” Martino said.

Since its inception in 1973, the Maryland Lottery has contributed more than $13.9 billion in revenue to the state of Maryland. Maryland’s casino program, which began in September 2010, has generated $1.74 billion million in revenue, with more than $786.5 million supporting education in the state.
