The High Court Of England and Wales Issues Order Approving Completion Of The Merger

MERGER TO BECOME EFFECTIVE ON 7 APRIL 2015

ROME and PROVIDENCE, R.I., (March 16, 2015) -- GTECH S.p.A. ("GTECH") announced today that the High Court of England and Wales has issued the order approving completion of the cross-border merger of GTECH with and into International Game Technology PLC (the "Merger").

The Merger will become effective at 12.01 a.m. [GMT] on 7 April 2015, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of the remaining conditions precedent set out in the merger agreement for the acquisition of International Game Technology dated 15 July 2014, as amended on 23 September 2014, and listed in the Merger documentation

GTECH will make an announcement as to the satisfaction or waiver of such conditions precedent promptly and, in any event, by the time the Italian Stock Exchange opens on April 1, 2015.

In light of the anticipated effective date of the Merger, the General Shareholders' Meeting to approve the GTECH Stand Alone Financial Statements as of December 31, 2014, which was expected to be held on April 16, 2015 as per the annual calendar of key corporate events, has not been called.

Neopollard Interactive Congratulates The Michigan Lottery on Successful Launch of Online Games

LANSING, Michigan, (March 18, 2015) -- NeoPollard Interactive LLC ("NeoPollard Interactive") congratulates the Michigan Lottery on the successful launch of its online game services portfolio. The online game services-developed, implemented, and supported by NeoPollard Interactive-allow Michigan residents to play interactive instant games and a version of Keno over the internet on personal computers, tablets, and smart phones. The Michigan Lottery estimates the online games will increase the revenues it provides to the state's schools by approximately $480 million over the next eight years.

A soft launch last November came after a "beta test" period that began in August. The testing wasn't supported by traditional media, promotions, or incentives. Rather, visitors to the Lottery's website were introduced to the online games option by a "buy online" tab added to the Michigan Lottery's homepage. The soft launch included a variety of promotional programs. Since the soft launch, online game services sales have grown steadily with February sales contributing $0.30 per capita per week on average to overall Lottery sales. Online game sales in February represented approximately 10% of comparative retail category sales of instant tickets and club games. That level is more than triple the percentage representation expected in the Lottery's first year projections.

Currently, Michigan Lottery players may choose from 15 online games with eight games optimized for mobile device play. NeoPollard Interactive champions the importance of having an omni-channel presence and the growing positive response to the Michigan Lottery's online games portfolio supports this strategy. Preliminary results show the average online game player in Michigan is younger than the average player who buys instant games at retail. Also, about 40% of the online game players use mobile devices, underscoring the importance of offering multiple sales channels. While online games broaden the Michigan Lottery's player base, retail channels are experiencing concurrent growth.

Kansas Lottery Retailers Enjoy Double-Digit Sales Increases with SSI On-Counter Dispensers

ADAIR, Iowa (March 14, 2015) -- Kansas Lottery retailers who moved tickets from in-counter displays onto the front counter reported dramatic instant scratch game sales increases. Woods Mini Mart in Lawrence, KS, showed sales increases of 63 percent in instant sales. TJ's Express in Topeka, KS, had sales increases of 77 percent for the test period.

The two store tests of on-counter instant lottery ticket displays were conducted November, 2014, through January, 2015, by Henderson Kessinger Consulting of Overland Park, KS, sponsored by Schafer Systems Inc., of Adair, IA. The test stores had all their games displayed in in-counter units before moving games into SSI Dual 6" GEN2 Modular Mini ® dispensers for the test.

  • Woods' 63 percent sales increase far exceeds the performance of a similar store nearby without tickets on the counter that experienced a 35 percent drop in sales.
  • TJ's 77 percent increase compared to another store in the neighborhood that had a three percent increase without moving tickets onto the counter, while another store had a 50 percent increase for the test period.

 

Jonnie Tucker, manager of TJ's said she was hesitant initially to make the move. "I was hesitant at first, but it's a lot better," Tucker said. "It took a while for regular customers to get used to it, but they found it easier to shop and to see the whole game and how to play."

Tucker added that the on-counter set up helps the checkout lines moves faster as customers don't hold up the line shopping an in-counter dispenser. "People can step to the side and take their time to shop while I check out other customers," Tucker explained. "They are buying more than before. They see new games while shopping the display for their regular games."

Tucker reported the only downside from her viewpoint is that the display is tall and she can't see over it. However, she added that she just steps to the side and can easily see around it.

Don Saunders, Vice-President for Wood Oil, Leavenworth, KS, said he wasn't sure about moving tickets onto the counter, but after seeing the results from the Wood's test store in Lawrence, he was convinced it was a good idea.

Saunders said that a manager in another Woods store had been asking when they could put the tickets back into the in-counter display. After hearing the test sales results, Saunders said, "With those kinds of results, we won't be doing that anytime soon."

A clerk in the Lawrence store said she noticed the increase in sales for instant games, but said to her, the biggest benefit was that the dispensers on the counter are much easier on her back as she is not constantly bending over to pull or refill tickets.

Lottery Sales Continue Upward Despite an Icy February

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (March 12, 2015) -- Late-winter snows didn't stop the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery from continuing its upward earnings trend in February, boosting sales of instant and online tickets well over February 2014 numbers.

An early-February Powerball jackpot run, peaking at $500 million, drove a big surge in online ticket sales to $9,673,639, a 30% increase over January's online sales and 20% over February 2014. Meanwhile, instant ticket sales continued an eight-month upward trend to $32,054,268, 14.5% over January sales and 3.7% over February 2014.

"The Powerball run got a lot of our players excited, and that jump started the higher-profit online sales in the first part of February," ASL Director Bishop Woosley said Thursday. "But we have also seen eight straight months of instant ticket sales increases versus same time last year. Instants make up about 80% of our annual sales, so it's always nice to see your top product steadily increase. I think the sales would be even more over last year if not for the adverse impact of the February snow storms."

Woosley attributed sales gains to a variety of changes adopted by ASL in 2014. "With an aim towards improving lagging sales, in the late winter of last year, we began implementing improvements to our instant ticket games, started a new marketing and rebranding campaign and added many new retailers, including a major big box store chain," Woosley said. "That effort, the improved economy and low gas prices have all contributed to our positive sales trend."

Florida Lottery and the Florida Aquarium Celebrate The $10,000,000 Florida Cash Scratch-Off Game

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (March 12, 2015) -- The Florida Lottery and The Florida Aquarium joined together today at The Florida Aquarium to promote the Lottery’s $10,000,000 FLORIDA CASH Scratch-Off game and their shared commitment to education.

 “The Florida Lottery enjoys partnering with Florida businesses and attractions, and the decision to shoot our $10,000,000 FLORIDA CASH TV commercial at The Florida Aquarium was an easy one,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O’Connell. “Not only is the aquarium a beautiful facility, but our shared mission to support education makes this partnership a win-win.”

The $10,000,000 FLORIDA CASH Scratch-Off features four top prizes of $10 million, 46 prizes of $1 million and more than $624 million in total cash prizes. Ticket sales for this game are expected to generate more than $133 million for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund. The $25 game reminds players that Florida is not just renowned for its sunshine, gorgeous beaches and many attractions; it’s also known for creating plenty of new millionaires.

At today’s event, Secretary O’Connell highlighted the unique features of this game, the partnership with Florida Aquarium and the Lottery’s support of education. Tennessee Lottery Joins Multi-State Launch of MONOPOLY Millionaires' Club™ Instant Ticket

Companion TV Game Show Premiers March 28, 2015

Two New Millionaires Minted in First Week of Series Production

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (March 17, 2015) -- The Tennessee Lottery will join with 13 other lotteries across the country March 24 to launch a "MONOPOLY Millionaires' Club" instant ticket that offers players a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas to become contestants on a nationally syndicated, first-of-its-kind television game show.

The "MONOPOLY Millionaires' Club" game show is hosted by actor-comedian and television star Billy Gardell ("Mike & Molly") and co-hosted by Todd Newton ("Family Game Night," "Hollywood Showdown"). Production of the show is underway at the Rio Al-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Contestants are selected from a studio audience made up of lottery players who have won an all-expenses paid trip to attend the show's taping and an opportunity to win up to $1 million in cash prizes.

Sports Lottery to be Regulated By The National Lottery Regulatory Commission

ABUJA, Nigeria (March 11, 2015) -- The Governing Board at the meeting held on 11th March 2015, has approved and directed for the immediate implementation of the Sports Lottery Category and its applicable Terms and Conditions in line with Section 57 of the National Lottery Act 2005 (NLA 2005).

All companies presently carrying out any form of Sports Lottery activity in Nigeria is hereby invited to come forward and regularise its operations with the Commission in the interest of the growth of the lottery industry in Nigeria.

The Commission also invites all prospective Sports Lottery Operators (SLOs) intending to carry out any form of Sports Lottery activity in Nigeria, to submit (through the nearest State Office in Nigeria or directly to her head office in FCT - Abuja) application(s) for the processing and issuance of a Sports Lottery Permit(SLP) which allows for the operation of the business of Sports Lottery on a national platform in Nigeria.

Furthermore, any company operating any form of Sports Lottery in Nigeria without a SLP is doing so illegally and will be subject to such penalties as contained in the NLA 2005.

Meet Kayt! -- SSI New Product Marketing Manager

New Jersey Lottery Instant Ticket Players Win Millions in February

TRENTON, New Jersey (March 16, 2015) - February was a profitable month for New Jersey Lottery instant ticket players. There were 49 top-tier prizes claimed with a cumulative annuity value totaling $4,170,000 this month. Topping the list were two, Spectacular Family, million dollar wins. Amaya Announce Cross Currency Swap Agreements

MONTREAL, Canada (March 16, 2015) -- Amaya Inc. ("Amaya" or the "Corporation") (AYA) today announced a subsidiary of the Corporation (the "Subsidiary") has entered into cross currency swap agreements (the "Swap Agreements") that it anticipates will result in lower interest payments on existing debt and mitigate the impact of fluctuations in the Euro to US Dollar ("USD") exchange rate.

The Swap Agreements allow the Subsidiary to create synthetic Euro-denominated debt with fixed Euro interest payments at an average rate of 4.6016%(1) in place of USD interest payments bearing a minimum floating interest rate of 5.0%(2) related to the USD$1.75 billion seven-year first lien term loan secured by the Subsidiary on August 1, 2014.

The interest and principal payments for the Swap Agreements, which mature in five years, will be made at a Euro/USD FX Rate of 1.1102 on USD notional amount(3) of $1.74125 billion.

The Euro/USD spot rate at market close on March 13, 2015 was 1.0465 (simple average).

Charitable Bingo and Gaming Revitalized with the Introduction of New Electronic Games

Charitable Bingo and Gaming Revitalization to Benefit Local Charities in Timmins

TORONTO, Ontario (March 12, 2015) --The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), together with the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA) and Commercial Gaming Association of Ontario (CGAO) have made further progress in the revitalization of charitable bingo and gaming in Timmins with the introduction of new electronic games.

The goal of this revitalization is to ensure local charities have a viable way to fundraise; to support local programs; to enhance local charitable operations and support local employment at the gaming centres; and to offer customers a new entertainment experience.

We are pleased to partner with Timmins Gaming Centre to enhance the bingo and gaming experience for our players,” said Rick Gray, Vice President of Charitable Gaming at OLG. “In addition to providing the bingo hall with new opportunities this initiative also supports approximately 60 regional charities, organizations that provide vital services and support in the community.”

Timmins Gaming Centre now offers customers the choice of new electronic games or the traditional paper-based games that have been played at bingo centres for years.

Adding new electronic products to our traditional paper-based games enables us to revitalize the charitable gaming industry and provide a sustainable source of revenue for our associated charities to continue their important work in Timmins,” said Lynn Cassidy, Executive Director of the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association.

The introduction of these new devices follows a successful 2005 pilot program which introduced e-bingo at six sites in five communities throughout the province which resulted in a significant increase of revenue raised for local communities. Since the launch of the pilot program, $80 million in additional funds has been raised for Ontario charities.

More charitable gaming centres across the province will complete their revitalization in the coming months.

OLG is working closely with the CGAO and the OCGA to revitalize the province’s Charitable Bingo and Gaming industry. By developing and introducing new products and technologies that will invigorate the traditional charitable gaming experience, more money is being generated for thousands of local charities across the province. The revitalization initiative is intended to preserve and enhance funding for charities across Ontario while creating economic benefits, including employment opportunities, at local charitable gaming centres.

OLG introduced a pilot program in 2005 to test electronic versions of existing paper-based bingo games to six charity bingo centres in five communities in Ontario. These pilot centres in Barrie, Kingston, Peterborough, Sudbury and Windsor have since raised $80 million in additional money for local charities.

Following the success of this pilot project, OLG began a phased rollout of a new suite of electronic games to other charitable gaming sites in the province. This new suite of charitable games offers customers more choice and complements existing paper bingo games. Offerings include:

  • Electronic Bingo: Charitable Gaming Centres offer terminals with touch screens that allow players to touch the screen to dab the numbers and play along.
  • Play On Demand (POD): A collection of electronic games that can be played anytime, with great prizes to be won.
  • Tap Tix: The evolution of the classic Break Open Ticket features an interactive display screen on a ticket dispenser.

 

The new games allow Charitable Gaming Centres to offer more customer choice, be more competitive and appeal to a broader demographic, while providing a different gaming entertainment experience from traditional bingo and casinos.
