Mifal Hapayis Launch Pop-Up Scratch-Off Instant Ticket Innovation from Pollard Banknote

Smell of Bacon in the Air: New Hampshire Lottery Launch Bacon-Scented Scratch-n-Sniff Ticket

CONCORD, New Hampshire (January 21, 2015) – The New Hampshire Lottery has launched its first scratch-n-sniff ticket, the I Heart Bacon Scratch Ticket, which features a $1,000 grand prize and the priceless aroma of bacon.

The new bacon-scented scratch ticket went on sale Monday, January 5th.

When players scratch the ticket, the ticket’s scented ink releases a generous whiff of bacon.

To highlight the ticket’s launch, the New Hampshire Lottery will hand out free delicious, savory strips of bacon and $1 I Heart Bacon scratch tickets (while supplies last) to generate awareness for this new game in Keene, Durham, Hooksett and Manchester.

MECN's Benchmarking Report on the Global Lottery Industry
MECN presents the 2014/2015 edition of its lottery benchmarking study with a special focus on social media activities of lotteries
LONDON / MUNICH, (January 20, 2015) -- For the sixth time since 2007, MECN is updating and expanding its unique and well-received benchmark study of the global lottery industry. Cowboy Draw, Wyoming's Own Game, Coming This Spring

CHEYENNE, Wyoming (January 16, 2015) -- Get ready to draw, Wyoming! The Wyoming Lottery Corporation is proud to bring you Wyoming's very own lottery game, Cowboy Draw™. Set to launch in the spring of 2015, Cowboy Draw gives players better odds and ensures that winning tickets will be sold from a WyoLotto retailer right here in the Cowboy State.

"Being a Wyoming-specific game means more Wyoming players winning top jackpot prizes and more Lottery money staying in the Cowboy State," said Jon Clontz, CEO of the Wyoming Lottery Corporation. "I expect that the Cowboy Draw game will become an extremely popular addition to our game portfolio."


Cowboy Draw is a draw game, that plays similar to Powerball® and Mega Millions®. Players choose five numbers ranging from 1 to 45. A player who correctly matches all five numbers is the jackpot winner. Players who correctly match four, three and two numbers also win cash prizes of $1,000, $20 and $5, respectively. Tickets cost $5 per ticket with two chances to win per ticket.

Clontz explained that the big attraction for the Cowboy Draw game, offered only in Wyoming, is that more WyoLotto players will win larger prizes. "The minimum jackpot will be $250,000, and it will grow until someone wins it. Someone asked me if the jackpot could realistically hit $1 million, and the answer is absolutely."

Cowboy Draw has an approximate payout of 68 percent, whereas Powerball and Mega Millions payouts are 50 percent. This gives our Wyoming players another great reason to play this game, said Clontz. Because Cowboy Draw is not a national game, all proceeds are retained in Wyoming.

In May 2014, the Lottery Board decided to explore the addition of new games to continue to expand the entertainment value associated with playing the lottery and increase revenue potential. In August 2014, Lottery conducted focus groups in Wyoming to evaluate player reactions to the new game concepts. After reviewing the research, the board decided to go with a Wyoming-specific draw game in the spring of 2015 and other games will follow. The Cowboy Draw game will launch on March 15, Clontz added.

Changes Coming to LOTTO MAX Mean Bigger Jackpots

MONCTON, Canada (January 15, 2015) -- LOTTO MAX is upping its game by introducing even bigger jackpot opportunities. Starting in July 2015, players will see the LOTTO MAX jackpot maximum increase from $50-million to $60-million.

For five years now, LOTTO MAX has been offering jackpots that maxed out at $50-million,” says Manon DesLauriers, Senior Brand Manager of national and regional games with Atlantic Lottery. “Players have told us though, that they’d be excited by even bigger jackpots. With this change, if a $50-million jackpot is not won, it could grow to $60-million.”


MAXMILLIONS, additional $1-million prizes, will still be added when the jackpot reaches $50-million, and will grow along with the jackpot.

Every lottery game is unique and each appeals to people for different reasons.  LOTTO MAX players enjoy the combination of a big jackpot and the possibilities of MAXMILLIONS prizes as the jackpot grows. This game definitely delivers,” notes Manon.

To support the increase in the maximum jackpot, the prize structure will be adjusted slightly. The funding for prizes will remain at 48% of sales; however, minor adjustments will be made to the prize pools for the 5/7, 6/7 and 6/7+Bonus categories. The price for a LOTTO MAX ticket remains the same at $5.

The six-month lead time announcing the changes will allow all Canadian lotteries to ensure their players and their systems are ready for the change,” explains Manon. “LOTTO MAX customers are being notified of these changes through notices on our websites and signage at retail and top of ticket messages.

Italy's Serie B Sign Agreement with Sportradar Security Services For Secure Integrity Education for Clubs

GALLEN, Switzerland (January 15, 2015) -- Today, Italy’s second division, Lega Serie B, signed an agreement with Sportradar Security Services, under which the betting fraud prevention specialists will provide both education workshops and e-learning packages to all 22 club teams for this season and the next two.

Under the terms of the agreement, the workshop and e-learning modules will be provided to the senior team and youth teams of each club.  Workshops will help all participants understand why match-fixing is a growing problem, how fixers make their approaches and what the consequences of fixing are, using real-life case studies. The e-learning tutorials will support and supplement the workshops, ensuring that each participant understands what they have learnt and is comfortable with the information.

Lotto24 Increases Its Market Lead, While Significantly Increasing Market Share

International Hockey Federation Has Signed Up to the International Olympic Committee’s Integrity Betting Intelligence System

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (January 20, 2015) -- The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has signed up to the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Integrity Betting Intelligence System (IBIS).

As an intelligence-sharing digital platform, IBIS will enable FIH and its 132 member National Associations to access an extensive network of monitoring and data-sharing across sports, event owners and the major sports-betting entities.


The objectives set out by the IOC through the implementation of IBIS are three-fold:

To safeguard sports from the threat connected to illegal sports betting

To support international federations and multi-sport event organisers with intelligence and information exchange

To create a framework for transparency, confidentiality and trust across all users

FIH joins the seven Olympic winter sports federations and a growing number of Olympic summer sports federations which have already joined IBIS in view of the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

FIH have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the IOC and implementation of the system is to come into effect in 2015.

FIH President Leandro Negre said: “We are pleased to sign up to IBIS and to be working together with the IOC in the fight against corruption in sport.  As the world governing body of hockey, it is our responsibility to ensure the integrity of the sport is upheld and protected from the threats that are match-fixing and corruption.
