NOVOMATIC Subsidiary Greentube Acquires Majority Stake in BlueBat Games


GUMPOLDSKIRCHEN, Austria (February 10, 2015) -- NOVOMATIC subsidiary Greentube has acquired a controlling interest in BlueBat Games, the Vancouver-based business which helped to develop the company's Greentube Pro turnkey social marketing platform.

BlueBat has worked with Greentube since May last year, when it partnered the business to develop the Greentube Pro turnkey social marketing platform. It also created the BlueBox Engine, a social gamification product designed to help clients increase player engagement.

Greentube said that the deal would further expand its US presence by giving it access to a technology extension, allowing it to develop white label solutions for land-based casino operators. The companies have already collaborated on a B2C social casino product, Magic Key Casino, which features a selection of Greentube’s real-money games repurposed as free-to-play products.

We worked closely with the BlueBat team on a number of projects in the past year”, Greentube chief executive Thomas Graf said of the partnership with BlueBat. “After the launch of Greentube Pro, it became apparent that BlueBat and Greentube's approach to social gaming were in direct alignment. The acquisition was the next logical step in our progression.” Greentube is a leading European B2B supplier in the online gaming segment and a leading provider of social gaming in Europe, the United States and Australasia.


Founded in 2011 by former Electronic Arts veterans Kenny Huang, who serves as the CEO, and chief technology officer Tim Harris, BlueBat has also created a selection of penny slot games. The purchase further strengthens Greentube’s suite of iGaming solutions, with the supplier having recently established Stakelogic, a dedicated 3D slot development studio, focused on creating a line of innovative new mobile products.

Norway Celebrates Its Latest Lottery Hit, Nabolaget

New Centres of Chance in Casinos and Gaming Halls of Quebec

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (February 16, 2015) - A ground breaking new Scratch-off from the Hoosier Lottery is offering winners a payout choice they've never had-until now.  Top prize winners on the new Gold Mine Scratch-off will get to answer the question "gold or cash?" when claiming their prize. 

If a winner chooses cash, he or she will receive payment the traditional way, as a check or an electronic funds transfer. If a winner chooses gold, he or she will literally receive gold. The exact weight of the gold will be determined at the time of claim because gold prices fluctuate.

GTECH Appoint Michael Chambrello Chief Executive Officer of North America Lottery

ROME, ITALY and PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (February 17, 2015) -- GTECH today announced that it has appointed Michael Chambrello as Chief Executive Officer of North America Lottery, effective March 23. Reporting to GTECH S.p.A. A seasoned lottery industry expert, Chambrello most recently served as CEO of Scientific Games Corporation, where he had overall responsibility for managing Scientific Games’ day-to-day worldwide activities. Previous to that, he was Scientific Games’ President and Chief Operating Officer. He left Scientific Games in 2013.

For a 17-year span, he held various roles of increasing responsibility with GTECH until he left the Company in 1998. He was President of GTECH Corporation and Executive Vice President of GTECH Holdings Corporation. He has also served as President and CEO of Environmental Systems Products Holdings (ESP), and as CEO of Transmedia Asia Pacific, Inc. and Transmedia Europe Inc.

Chambrello has served on the board of directors of various public and private companies, most recently serving as chairman of the board of directors for Meridian Lightweight Technologies in Detroit which is the world’s leading provider of magnesium die casting components for the automobile industry. Kelleher has been with GLI since 2012, serving as a Supplier Development Representative prior to ascending to her new role. She brings a unique view and wealth of casino operations experience and customer service to her clients, having worked in-casino at both tribal and non-tribal operations.

Pursuant to the Cooperative Agreement, the Sichuan Sports Lottery Administration Centre shall authorise the Group to roll out interactive self-service lottery solutions in Sichuan.

The Group will be responsible for, among others, (i) the development, provision and maintenance of the interactive self-service lottery solutions; (ii) the implementation of the interactive self-service lottery solutions in Sichuan by building up self-operated and franchise stores and cooperating with various social channels; (iii) the revamping of eligible and existing stores; and (iv) the utilization of diversified distribution network and marketing resources to increase lottery sales. Sichuan Sports Lottery Administration Centre will pay the Group a certain percentage of total sales generated.

The Group is an authorized solutions and related services provider to both Sports and Welfare Lottery authorities in China.

The Cooperative Agreement includes the provision of lottery solutions, sales distribution and related services to Sichuan Sports Lottery Administration Centre. The Board is encouraged by the latest progress of its lottery business.

To date, the Group’s lottery related business has covered 21 provinces and regions in China. The Group has recently seen significant increase in its market share since the recent successful signing of cooperative agreements with various provinces including Sichuan.

Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Announce 3-Year Contract Extension for Executive Director Marcus Prater
AGEM Membership Total Hits 150 Companies

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (February 17, 2015) – The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) announced today that respected gaming industry veteran Marcus Prater has signed a new 3-year contract extension that will keep him as the organization’s Executive Director into 2018.

Prater has been AGEM’s Executive Director since 2008 and his current 3-year term was set to expire at the end of this month.

Oxford Economics’ report, “Gaming Careers: Gateway to the Middle Class,” reveals that gaming:

According to projections, the industry is on track to add more than 62,000 well-paying jobs in the next decade. Additionally, few industries employ as diverse a workforce as gaming.
