International Game Technology Sign Player Services E-Commerce Platform Agreement with Veikkaus Oy in Finland

LONDON, U.K. (July 2, 2015) -- International Game Technology PLC ("IGT") (NYSE:IGT) announced that it has signed an agreement with Finnish lottery operator Veikkaus Oy to deliver an enhanced Player Services e-commerce solution, while also extending the support and service it provides to Veikkaus' current Internet and mobile platform until 2018.

Commonwealth Casino Commission Adopt Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®) Standards, Recognizes GLI as Test Lab

SYDNEY, Australia (July 1, 2015) - The Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC) of the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) has adopted Gaming Laboratories International's (GLI®) technical standards, known as the GLI Standards Series™.

The CCC has also recognized GLI as an independent test lab for a new Saipan-based casino, expected to open later this month.

The Commonwealth is a new gambling jurisdiction, and the temporary casino in Saipan will be the jurisdiction's first. GLI has worked closely with the CCC over the past several months to ensure it is empowered to execute a first-class regulatory model for the slot machines and other gambling equipment operated by Best Sunshine International Ltd., which will operate the new casino.


GLI Australia Senior Manager of Regulation Compliance and QA Phil Harrison said, "We are honored to have been chosen by the CCC to lend our global expertise to this new jurisdiction. The GLI Standards Series is recognized worldwide for bringing clarity and structure to operators, suppliers and regulators. The news is the latest in a series of positive developments for GLI in the Asia Pacific region. GLI Australia physically expanded one of its Australia locations earlier this year, growing from 1,000 square meters to 1,600 square meters in Adelaide, and plans are in development for growth in the Sydney location.

Playtech Win Prized Norwegian Lottery Contract

LONDON, U.K. (June 30, 2015) -- Playtech, the world's leading omni-channel gaming software and services supplier, has won a coveted contract to supply Norway's state-owned gaming operator with locally adapted content across more than 4,300 interactive gaming terminals.

Playtech was one of eight competing suppliers during the procurement process, and one of three to win the contract. In partnership with Norsk Tipping, Playtech will further develop its interactive terminal games offering and, in August, will begin delivery of a suite of interactive retail gaming content designed specifically for the Norwegian Belago (bingo halls) and Multix (retail) environments.


The company, under Playtech subsidiary Videobet Interactive Sweden, is one of three suppliers selected to provide new content for all Norsk Tipping interactive gaming terminals. The duration is for an initial two-year period that includes an option for two further one year extensions.

The deal is in addition to Playtech's current contract to provide Norsk Tipping with more than 4,300 gaming terminals as well as the innovative TruServ platform, the engine that powers the Norwegian retail and bingo hall gaming markets.

Celebrated Farewell to Austria Lotteries CEO Friedrich Stickler

AUSTRIA (June 29, 2015) -- 44 years have passed since Friedrich Stickler at the service of Casinos Austria - came - and later of the Austrian Lotteries. First, as a croupier in a casino ship, later held senior positions in international business and as an assistant to General Leo Wallner.

1985 was to bless Austria with Lotto since a growing number of people made their Kreuzerl in neighboring Germany. Friedrich Stickler, who was then in charge of the project and the foundation for what is now a nearly 30-year-long success story, he is co-responsible in the role of Executive Director of the Austrian Lotteries.

By end of June Stickler will leave the company to pursue a new life with new tasks. It is now time for a lavish celebration, which looked at the sonorous title "Chapeau, Friedrich!"

The celebration looks to the past as well as a little forward, but above all in the depth of some previously well-kept secrets.

Hans Jörg Schelling even had a surprise in store: He presented Friedrich Stickler, the Large Silver Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria. And his board colleague Bettina Glatz-Kremsner was honored: She received the Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria.

Florida Lottery Announce Historic Year of Record Sales and Revenue for Education

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (July 1, 2015) -- The Florida Lottery has reached a new record of $5.58 billion in annual sales and more than $1.5 billion in transfers to education during fiscal year 2014-15, which ended June 30.

The announcement was made today by Lottery Secretary Cynthia O'Connell, marking the fourth consecutive year of both record sales and record funding raised to benefit education.

Governor Scott said, "The Florida Lottery helps to provide more opportunities for our students to receive the best education possible. These important investments provided more than $100 million toward education every month, allowing schools to continue benefiting from their success."

The Florida Lottery's Scratch-Off game sales also broke records again this year, surpassing $3.7 billion and accounting for 67 percent of total sales. "


Lottery Scratch-Off sales over the past four years have increased by more than 60 percent and have more than doubled over the past 12 years. The Florida Lottery has had record Scratch-Off sales weeks 13 times in the last five years, five of those in the last two years.

"The success accomplished by the Florida Lottery this year is a result of daily efforts made by our employees and retailers," said Secretary O'Connell.

"Florida Lottery players, stakeholders and the public also deserve thanks for their support, allowing the Lottery to fulfill its mission of maximizing revenue to support Florida students and schools."

We are proud to be a reliable source of additional funding for education, with Lottery contributions totaling more than $28 billion since 1988, including more than $1 billion annually for the past thirteen consecutive fiscal years."

The Florida Lottery reinvests nearly 98 percent of its revenue back into the state's economy.

With $1.5 billion generated for education, more than $3.6 billion paid to prizewinners and $313 million in retailer bonuses and commissions paid to Florida businesses, the contributions made by the Lottery this fiscal year will go a long way in moving the state forward.


The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than $28 billion to education and sending more than 700,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

The Florida Lottery reinvests nearly 98 percent of its revenue back into Florida's economy through prize payouts, commissions to more than 13,000 Florida retailers and transfers to education.

Since 1988, Florida Lottery games have paid more than $46 billion in prizes and made more than 1,400 people millionaires.

Duncan has also overseen the successful expansion of Camelot's retail estate, taking it from 27,500 outlets to over 46,000 - greatly improving consumer access to The National Lottery across the whole of the UK. He has also been responsible for The UK National Lottery's customer service and distribution functions, where he has been responsible for improving both efficiency and customer service levels.

Prior to joining Camelot, Duncan held senior and directorial commercial roles with Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods and Coors Brewers. In these blue chip organisations he gained a wealth of experience in growing sales across all channels - convenience, multiples, forecourts and online.

Playscan AB Merge Into Svenska Spel AB

The ambition of the Playscan team remains the same, as the development of the tool maintains its progress

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (July 2, 2015) -- Continuing its work with harm minimization and the prevention of problem gambling, Playscan AB now merges into Svenska Spel AB. Therefore; the product will no longer be commercially available.

Today, there are several variations of responsible gambling tools like Playscan on the market.

Genera Win New Norsk Tipping IVT Contract

After a lengthy public procurement process in competition with multiple other larger suppliers, the Stockholm-based provider of innovative game formats successfully secured a new contract with Norway's state lottery Norsk Tipping to provide game titles for up to 4 years for the operator's Multix and Belago interactive video terminals (IVT).

The contract is awarded to 3 suppliers in parallel and gives exclusive right to provide new content for all Norsk Tipping IVTs in the period.

Genera won a public tender with Norsk Tipping in 2011 and has since provided more titles for Multix than any other provider. Genera's current Multix titles had a 62% share of the market in 2014.

Charitable Bingo and Gaming Revitalization to Benefit Local Charities

TORONTO, Canada (June 26, 2015) -- Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), together with the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA) and Commercial Gaming Association of Ontario (CGAO), have made further progress in the revitalization of charitable bingo and gaming in Richmond Hill with the introduction of new electronic bingo games.


The goal of this revitalization is to ensure local charities have a viable way to fundraise; to support local programs; to enhance local charitable operations; to support local employment at the gaming centres; and to offer customers a new entertainment experience.

We are pleased to partner with Bingo World to improve the bingo and gaming experience for our players,” said Rick Gray, Vice President of Charitable Gaming at OLG. “In addition to providing the bingo hall with new opportunities, this initiative also supports more than 30 local charities–organizations that provide vital services and supports in the community.”

Bingo World now offers customers the choice of new electronic bingo-themed games or the traditional paper-based games that have been played at bingo centres for years.

Adding new electronic products to our traditional paper-based games enables us to revitalize the charitable gaming industry and with the goal being to provide a sustainable source of revenue for our associated charities to continue their important work in Richmond Hill,” said Lynn Cassidy, Executive Director of the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association.

The introduction of these new electronic bingo devices follows a successful 2005 pilot program which introduced electronic bingo at six sites in five communities throughout the province which resulted in a significant increase of revenue raised for local communities. Since the launch of the pilot program, more than $87 million in additional funds have been raised for Ontario charities.

More charitable gaming centres across the province will complete their revitalization in the coming months.


Backgrounder Charitable Gaming in Ontario

OLG is working closely with the CGAO and the OCGA to revitalize the province’s Charitable Bingo and Gaming industry. By developing and introducing new products and technologies that will invigorate the traditional charitable gaming experience, more money will be generated for thousands of local charities across the province. The revitalization initiative is intended to preserve and enhance funding for charities across Ontario while creating economic benefits, including employment opportunities, at local charitable gaming centres.

OLG introduced a pilot program in 2005 to test electronic versions of existing paper-based bingo games to six charity bingo centres in five communities in Ontario. These pilot centres in Barrie, Kingston, Peterborough, Sudbury and Windsor have since raised $87 million in additional money for local charities.

Following the success of this pilot project, OLG began a phased rollout of a new suite of electronic games to other charitable gaming sites in the province. This new suite of charitable games offers customers more choice and complements existing paper bingo games. Offerings include:

  • Electronic Bingo: Charitable Gaming Centres offer terminals with touch screens that allow players to touch the screen to dab the numbers and play along.
  • Play On Demand (POD): A collection of electronic games that can be played anytime, with great prizes to be won.
  • Tap Tix: The evolution of the classic Break Open Ticket features an interactive display screen on a ticket dispenser.


The new games allow Charitable Gaming Centres to offer more customer choice, be more competitive and appeal to a broader demographic, while providing a different gaming entertainment experience from traditional paper-based bingo.
