International Game Technology Achieve Highest iGaming Vendor Rating by Info-Tech Research Group

LONDON, U.K. (May 6, 2015) -- International Game Technology PLC (NYSE:IGT, "IGT") has been ranked as a Champion, the highest possible rating, in Info-Tech Research Group's iGaming Platforms Vendor Landscape for the Gaming and Hospitality Research Center .

The Info-Tech Research Group's Vendor Landscape reports recognize outstanding vendors in the technology marketplace. They assess vendors by the strength of their offering and their strategy for the enterprise, paying tribute to the contribution of exceptional vendors in a particular category.

For this iGaming Platforms Vendor Landscape, Info-Tech focused on those vendors that offer broad capabilities across multiple platforms and that have a strong market presence and/or reputational presence among mid- to large-sized enterprises. IGT was one of 11 vendors chosen for the assessment, and received exemplary scores for product features, vendor viability and vendor strategy, and good scores for product usability, product architecture, vendor reach and vendor integration. IGT's Champion status represents the highest ranking, followed by Market Pillar, Innovator and Emerging Player.

"The industry is at a high point of tension as the world, and especially the United States, waits to see how regulations will evolve," said Larry Fretz, Gaming and Hospitality Practice Lead, Info-Tech Research Group. "Given this uncertainty, and the unfamiliar nature of online casinos to most U.S. operators, Info-Tech has chosen experienced vendors who have already proven themselves in regulated, legal markets in the U.S., Canada, and Europe."

According to the report, IGT has one of the most advanced customization capabilities, said Fretz. "Operators with a global client base, especially in Europe, should look at IGT. U.S. land-based operators currently using GTECH, IGT, or SPIELO technologies for land-based machines or Casino Management Systems (CMS) should also consider IGT's offering if they wish to expand their online presence. This solution is also suitable for casinos looking for a high degree of customization."

"IGT's selection as a Champion in Info-Tech Research Group's iGaming Platforms Vendor Landscape report affirms our B2B leadership in the interactive space," said Matteo Monteverdi, Senior Vice President, Global Product Marketing, Interactive. "The recent merger of GTECH and IGT strengthens our global presence and positions the organization as the vendor of choice for operators looking to enter the world of iGaming. We are proud to be recognized for our complete product line, which covers the entire iGaming spectrum - from social and play-for-fun to real-money gaming, sports, and lotteries."

Penn National's adoption of our SG Universe product suite squarely addresses their strategic priority to create deeper relationships with their customers no matter where they are. This agreement, with one of the world's most successful land-based casino operators, is an exciting testament to the value the SG Universe creates for casinos to extend their brand online and through player smartphones and tablets. We're confident that the SG Universe will provide Penn players an exciting new way to enjoy casino content."

Pollard Banknote Exclusive License, TETRIS®, A Perfect Fit For The Texas Lottery®

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (May 1, 2015) -- Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) (“Pollard Banknote”) is pleased to announce the Texas Lottery®’s introduction of a $2 Tetris® instant ticket and upcoming official launch event. Available at Texas Lottery retailers since March 16, 2015, Tetris tickets—exclusive to Pollard Banknote’s licensed game portfolio—is already proving itself a perfect fit for Lone Star State lottery players. After only four weeks, 37% of the tickets have been sold!

The Texas Lottery’s Tetris ticket offers more than $11.5 million in prizes, and players who do not win instantly can enter online for a chance to win one of 800 merchandise prize packages.

The Texas Lottery and Pollard Banknote worked with The Tetris Company to develop a ticket and merchandise program customized specifically for the Texas market. The ticket art captures the iconic elements of the Tetris game but with a twist—the famous Tetrimino playing pieces have been used to create  a Texas-shaped grid!

A key building block of a great Tetris program is a larger-than-life launch event. To promote this Tetris ticket, the Texas Lottery will be participating in the annual Cinco de Mayo celebrations at Market Square in San Antonio. On Saturday, May 2, the Texas Lottery’s booth will be a must-see kiosk for festival-goers who can stop by to play a jumbo version of Tetris Blitz, the lightning fast Tetris mobile game by Electronic Arts, live on an LED wall that is over 20 feet high! Thousands of visitors walking through Market Square will see the oversized game in action. The Texas Lottery’s team will be giving attendees a chance to spin a prize wheel and win, and a roaming Tetrimino-topped team will be sharing information about the Tetris instant ticket and Tetris Blitz mobile game.

The Texas Lottery’s Tetris program is further supported by a social media campaign that engages Texas Lottery fans on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. For instance, Texas Lottery followers on Instagram were invited to answer trivia questions for a chance to win Tetris prize packs.

Tetris is a phenomenon now celebrating 30 years as one of the leading and most distinctive video game brands in the world. The Texas Lottery selected this iconic game for its broad appeal; it simply transcends age, culture, and language,” said Gary Grief, Executive Director, Texas Lottery.

We are confident that, together with the Texas Lottery, we have developed a marketing program to support the launch of the Tetris instant ticket that will engage Texans on a wide scale,” explained Sina Aiello, Vice President, Marketing, Pollard Banknote. “The excitement of the live event combined with the strong brand equity of the Tetris brand is expected to create excitement and increase awareness and sales of the instant ticket.

The Texas Lottery is committed to generating revenue for the State of Texas through the responsible management and sale of entertaining lottery products while incorporating the highest standards of security and integrity. Since 1997, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $17 billion to the Foundation School Fund to support public education in Texas, with over $1.2 billion contributed in fiscal year 2014. Massachusetts State Lottery Release New $30 Scratch Ticket

BRAINTREE, Massachusetts (April 28, 2015) -- “Supreme Millions,” the Lottery’s second $30 offering, features over $732 million in cash prizes, including 80 top prizes ranging from $1 million to $15 million!

Supreme Millions

State Treasurer and Lottery Chair Deborah Goldberg today announced the launch of the Massachusetts Lottery’s latest $30 instant “scratch” ticket -- Supreme Millions -- a highly-anticipated release that is packed with over $732 million in total cash prizes.

Based on the record-setting success of the Lottery’s first $30 ticket, we are very excited about today’s launch and the potential it has to generate over $100 million in critical local aid dollars for the 351 cities and towns in our Commonwealth,” said Treasurer Goldberg, who today was at the Lottery’s Braintree headquarters for the new game’s release.

Included in Supreme Millions’ robust prize offerings are four $15 million and 66 $1 million “scratch and win” prizes, as well as over 1.76 million prizes ranging from $100 to $50,000. Ten $1 million prizes will be awarded via the game’s exciting second chance drawing program that allows players to enter their non-winning tickets online for opportunities to win substantial cash prizes. Two $1 million prizes winners will be selected in each of the game’s five second chance drawings.

Supreme Millions is the Lottery’s second offering at a $30 price point. It comes on the heels of the wildly-successful World Class Millions ticket that was released in April 2014 and is expected to sell out by this summer.

The overall chance of winning a prize in Supreme Million is 1 in 2.79, the best odds offered in Mass. Lottery history. The new game’s overall prize payout of 80.7 percent represents the highest payout percentage offered by the Mass. Lottery, matching only that of World Class Millions.

Supreme Millions presents its players with a thrilling opportunity to win up to 30 times on a single ticket. Each ticket contains 10 “Winning Numbers” and 30 “Your Numbers,” each of which contain 30 prize values.

If one or more of the “Your Numbers” matches the “Winning Numbers,” the player wins the corresponding amount.

There are also “2X,” “5X,” “10X,” “20X,” and “200X” symbols in the “Your Numbers” spots, which multiplies any winning combinations, as well as a burst symbol that automatically awards players with a $100 instant win.

With a print run of over 30.2 million tickets, sales from the new $30 Supreme Millions game are expected to reach approximately $907 million and the potential net profit that will be generated is $104.2 million.

Lottery profits are the largest source of unrestricted local aid for the 351 cities and towns across the Commonwealth.

World Class Millions, the state’s first $30 ticket, has generated over $582.9 million in sales and $66.9 million in net profit since its release just over a year ago.

The Mass. Lottery received the 2014 “Best New Instant Ticket Award” from the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) for World Class Millions, marking the first time the Lottery has ever received this distinction.

The Massachusetts Lottery introduced the world’s first instant ticket product, a $1 ticket named The Instant Game, in May 1974 – a move that revolutionized the lottery industry and established Massachusetts as a lottery innovator.

In the 41 years since, the Massachusetts Lottery has grown to be the world’s leader in instant ticket sales, generating over $3.3 billion annually.

Cash4Life® is a draw game in which players try to match five out of 60 numbers, plus one out of four CashBall numbers. A player who matches all six numbers wins the top prize.

We’re excited to offer Cash4Life® to Virginia Lottery players,” said Virginia Lottery Executive Director Paula Otto. “The exciting top prize in this game has gone over well with players in other states. And of course, every Cash4Life® ticket bought in Virginia, win or lose, will help generate funds for K-12 public education in the Commonwealth.

Cash4Life® will replace Decades of Dollars, which will end a successful four-year run in Virginia.

Cash4Life® is currently played in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Milestone for A Truly Digital Single Market

BRUSSELS, Belgium (May 6, 2015) -- European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) welcomes the publication of the European Commission's strategy for a Digital Single Market. The EU is in dire need of a proper framework to reap the benefits offered by new technologies that have fundamentally transformed our economies and consumer behaviour.

Today the European Commission published its much-anticipated strategy for a Digital Single Market, which aims at making the European digital framework fit for purpose to the 21st century economy.

According to the Commission, the digital changes "bring immense opportunities for innovation, growth and jobs. They also raise challenging policy issues for public authorities which require coordinated EU action. All Member States are wrestling with similar problems but on a national basis which is too limited to allow them to seize all the opportunities and deal with all the challenges of this transformational change." 1 EGBA could not agree more.

Online gambling is currently covered by several EU (consumer protection) directives, but most of the applicable regulation is still national. As a result, EU multi-licensed gambling operators are confronted with the costs of 28 different sets of rules, effectively making their services less competitive and attractive for consumers than the unregulated offer from Asia.

In its Cost of non-Europe study, the European Parliament has calculated that a unified European online gambling market would bring benefits of 5.6 billion euros per year. Importantly, the study concludes that "at present, the absence of a single market results in unequal protection of consumers (specifically vulnerable persons and minors)" but also that "protection for problem gamblers and vulnerable consumers is also fragmented and less effective as a result."2

Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, said: "The EGBA fully supports the Commission's political investment in the Digital Single Market. The EU online gambling sector is the most competitive in the world and will help create the innovation, growth and jobs that will result from taking away barriers in the Internal Market. EGBA is looking forward to the concrete legislative proposals that will follow today's publication."

About EGBA

The EGBA is an association of leading European gaming and betting operators Bet-at-home, BetClic,, Digibet, Expekt, and Unibet. The Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association (GBGA) is an affiliate member of EGBA. EGBA is a Brussels-based non-profit association. It promotes the rights of more than 20 million adult European citizens to participate in online gambling of their choice in an informed, regulated, safe and secure environment. While online gambling remains a smaller part of the total gambling market (15%), based upon innovation, technology and digital consumer demand, online gambling transformed itself into an industry champion of the European digital economy with material spin-over effects towards other digital economies and strong synergies with sports. EGBA members have invested more than €600M into digital security and contributed to sports with more than €800M, mainly via sponsorship deal and purchasing innovative sports streaming rights.

  • Four prizes of $1 million
  • Four prizes of $100,000
  • 100 prizes of $1,000
  • 5,892 prizes of $100

After purchase, immediately sign the back of your ticket and store it in a safe place until the drawing.

Each ticket features a unique, eight-digit number issued sequentially as tickets are sold across the state. The first ticket sold is number 00000001, and the final ticket sold is number 00500000.

To be considered a winning ticket, the number on a Millionaire Raffle ticket must exactly match a winning number selected in the drawing, and all digits must appear in the same sequence as the winning number.

Winning Millionaire Raffle numbers will be randomly selected on July 11. The Lottery’s live drawing show at 6:59 p.m. will televise the selection of four $1 million, top-prize ticket numbers and four $100,000, second-prize ticket numbers.

The remaining 100 winning numbers for prizes of $1,000 each and 5,892 winning numbers for prizes of $100 each also will be selected, but will not be televised live due to time constraints. In total, 6,000 prizes worth $5,089,200 will be awarded.

Third Quarter 2015 Lottery Proceeds Up Thanks to Phenomenal Scratch-Off Sales

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (May 6, 2015) -- For the third quarter of fiscal year 2015, the Louisiana Lottery Corporation transferred more than $45.2 million to the state’s coffers, bringing cumulative transfers for the year to nearly $121 million, more than $8.8 million ahead of budget and on target with last year.

With third-quarter revenue of $129,204,789 the Lottery contributed $45,221,675 to the state treasury, 10.3 percent better than 2014.

By law, 35 percent of Lottery proceeds are transferred to the state treasury and dedicated for K-12 public education. The Louisiana Lottery ranks second among U.S. lotteries in percentage of revenue transferred to its government.

Retailers earn 5 percent sales commission on Lottery tickets, plus incentives for cashing winning tickets and bonuses for selling winning tickets, totaling more than $7.1 million for January to March of 2015.

Lottery President Rose Hudson credited the Lottery's nine-month performance to phenomenal scratch-off sales which are up over 13 percent from last year, helping to offset lackluster Powerball sales.

"Three-fourths of the way through fiscal year 2015, our scratch-off sales growth trend continues," noted Hudson.

"Over the last five years, our strategies for increasing scratch-off payouts from 59.41 percent to 62.75 percent by coupling administrative cost savings and unclaimed prizes have paid off. Our players love more prizes, and so we have seen scratch-off sales soar 41 percent - the most successful growth in the Louisiana Lottery's 24-year history, resulting in an additional $19.6 million in recurring annual revenue for the state."

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Anyone with a gambling problem, or friends of anyone with a gambling problem, is encouraged to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for assistance.

For security purposes, players should sign the back of their tickets after purchasing.

Iowa Lottery Release New Scratch Ticket to Celebrate Anniversary

DES MOINES, Iowa (May 6, 2015) -- The Iowa Lottery has released a new ticket as part of the celebration of its 30th birthday later this year. Lottery CEO, Terry Rich, says the process had to first be made legal before they could start selling tickets.

In 1972 the (Iowa) constitution was changed to actually allow lotteries. Thirteen years later, the legislature passed a law and the governor signed a bill to allow the lotteries,” Rich told Iowa Public Radio.

Schafer Systems Inc.

The state began selling a one-dollar “Scratch, Match and Win,” instant-scratch game ticket on August 22nd at the Iowa State Fair. The lottery has introduced a scratch ticket in honor of the anniversary that Rich says is eco-friendly. He says the ticket is made with partially recycle paper and is called “30 Somethings” ticket that will have a top cash prized of $30,000.

"The Iowa Lottery has expanded from that first scratch ticket to multiple scratch tickets, pull tabs and various lotto games that have generated lots of money. “In its 30 years there were $6.3 billion in sales, $1.6 billion given to the state of Iowa to use,” Rich says.

Rich says the money from the lottery is handled differently than money from casinos, which is handed out by the non-profit casino partners. The money from the Iowa Lottery is dedicated to backing the Vision Iowa program bonds, some goes to the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund, and all the rest goes to the general fund. “I really like that model because then we run this like a business with the integrity and the social impact always at the back of our mind, and the legislature decides where the money goes,” according to Rich.

Rich says lottery tickets are an affordable entertainment option for people, and says when the economy slows, lottery ticket sales pick up. He expects the Iowa Lottery to continue evolving with changes in technology. “I would say in 30 years if I could predict what the lottery would be like, I think it would be less paper, more social, and hopefully we’ll have an answer to this mystery of the Hot Lotto,” Rich says.

Rich refers to the Hot Lotto ticket which was turned in just before it expired on December 29th of 2011, but the prize was never paid out as the true owner had not been revealed. An employee of an Iowa Lottery vendor, Eddi Tipton of Norwalk, was charged in January with two counts of fraud in connection with the attempt to cash in the ticket.Tipton goes on trial in July of this year.

Overall, figures from the Iowa Lottery show 127 people have won prizes of one-million dollars or more in the 30 years.
