Veikkaus Oy improved its performance 2.8 percent over the previous year in
2014, posting a financial result of EUR 520.4 million. Our turnover for the
financial year 2014 was EUR 1 959.5 million (+5.4%). The product group to
increase the most was that of the Daily Games. This seems to be in line with
the present-day trend, where gaming is turning more often towards games with
higher event frequency.
The shift in consumer behaviour is
also reflected as a strong increase in the digital sales channels. The share of
the digital channels exceeded 40 percent of the total sales for the first time
ever in 2014.

Lotto's turnover was EUR 431.1 million (-10.3%). A core reason for the decrease
was that after a record-high jackpot (EUR 13.3 million) drawn in April, there
were no big jackpots available in Lotto. Sizeable jackpots add significantly to
random playing, having a great effect on the development of the turnover.
The product group to grow the
fastest, that of the Daily Games, reached a turnover of EUR 754.1 million
(+14.7%). The games to increase in popularity the most were the digital games

Game Style Adds Fast Fun for New Jersey Lottery Players

- The New Jersey Lottery
announced a new game style called Fast Play, launching on Aug. 2, at all
Lottery retail locations.
Fast Play games are quick play games
that are printed instantly from the retailers' terminals or printed from the
self-service vending machines. There are no numbers to pick or cards to
scratch. The tickets include a game board and winning numbers for the player to
match and win. Play instructions are printed on every ticket. Players simply
ask for a Fast Play game by name or provide a Fast Code, which is a
game-specific bar code, for scanning by the retailer or at the Lottery vending
"Fast Play is an exciting new
game style that offers players fast-paced games with immediate results and cash
payouts," said Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director.
"Various game themes and price points keep the Fast Play games engaging to
play and loaded with cash prizes."
To celebrate the games, Hedinger
will initiate the Fast Pass for Fast Play Friday event at a press conference
held on Friday, Aug. 14 at the Farley Service Plaza, at 8:30 am. (see
directions below). Drivers on the Atlantic City Expressway, passing through the
Egg Harbor Eastbound Toll Plaza, cash or EZ Pass, will have their tolls paid in
full on Fast Pass for Fast Play Friday, between 9 am and 10 am.
"The Fast Pass for Fast Play
Friday event is a perfect way to introduce the Fast Play games to the
public," Hedinger said. "Playing the Fast Play games is fun, quick and
easy, just like rolling through a free toll."
All Fast Play games have
individualized instructions on how to play the game printed on the ticket. The
game rules are simple and clear but offer an element of complexity to keep them
intriguing. The prize structures vary by game, but all winning tickets, with
prizes under $600, are available for immediate validation and cashing at a
Lottery retail location. Prizes of $600 or greater can be claimed by mailing
the claimant-signed, winning ticket, completed claim form and validation
receipt to Lottery Headquarters for processing.
There will be four games available
at launch at the following ticket prices: Fast Cash ($1), Red Hot Numbers ($1),
Slots of Fun ($2), and Bling Bling Bucks ($5). The prize opportunities range
from $1 up to $25,000, varying by game. Each game has a unique playing style
such as number matching, symbol matching, or prize amount matching. New games

Scratch-Game Sales Lead Successful Iowa Lottery Results For
DES MOINES, Iowa (July 31, 2015) --
Record sales of instant-scratch tickets led the Iowa Lottery to achieve annual
results among the Top 4 in its 30-year history, with the purchase and move of
its headquarters location also completed on time and under budget in its latest
Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich
announced the lottery's fiscal year 2015 results on Thursday, noting that total
lottery sales topped $300 million for the fourth straight year while proceeds
to state causes and prizes to players also were among the lottery's best.
"Our scratch-ticket sales led the
way to some really strong numbers for the year," Rich said. "We've
concentrated on diversifying our product mix in the field and keeping a variety
of games on the market to give customers choices. We do our best to take care
of the behind-the-scenes work so our players can just have fun and dream a
The preliminary figures released
Thursday show that lottery sales in FY 2015 totaled nearly $325 million.
Proceeds to state causes totaled $74.5 million, the fourth-highest amount for
the lottery since its start in 1985. Prizes to players totaled nearly $197
million, the second-highest total in the lottery's history, and nearly a $10
million increase from the previous year.
"We're running a strong operation
based upon best practices," Rich said. "Like any business, we know our
numbers will fluctuate from year to year, but we anticipate that the lottery
will continue on an upward trend."
Iowa Lottery Board chair Matt
McDermott of West Des Moines said that just as importantly, the past year's
events provided ongoing opportunities for the lottery to highlight integrity, a
cornerstone of its operations.
"The legal proceedings that
culminated with this month's trial in the Hot Lotto jackpot investigation
highlighted the layers of security within the lottery's operations," said
McDermott, a shareholder at Belin McCormick law firm in Des Moines. "The
case provided the lottery with the opportunity to better identify potential
security risks and update its procedures to protect against them. We understand
that the lottery's business model must continue to anticipate as many known
impacts as possible - and the unknown stressors that will crop up."
The lottery's unaudited figures show
that its $74.5 million in proceeds to state causes were about 8.5 percent ahead
of budget for the year and up about 1 percent from the previous year's total of
$73.9 million. The lottery's combined sales of $324.8 million from its core
products of lotto, scratch and pull-tab games were up 3.4 percent from the
previous year's total of $314.1 million.
A highlight of the lottery's FY 2015
results was the $2.2 million it raised for the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund to
benefit our state's veterans and their families. The lottery now has raised
nearly $17.4 million for the Trust Fund since it began providing proceeds to
that cause in 2008.
Sales of instant-scratch tickets,
the first product introduced by the lottery and always one of its top-selling
items, set a yearly record at nearly $212 million. The previous record for
scratch sales was $202.3 million back in FY 2013.
Rich also thanked retailers for
their work in selling lottery products in FY 2015, noting that local businesses
across the state received nearly $21 million in sales commissions from the

Florida Lottery Has Best July on Record
TALLAHASSEE, Florida (August 3,
2015) -- The Florida
Lottery has had its strongest start ever to the new fiscal year, with
record sales for the month of July totaling $453.52 million. This surpassed the
previous July high of $415.34 million in 2014 by 9.1%, and generated
approximately $117 million in transfers to the state's Educational Enhancement
Trust Fund (EETF). Building off an all-time record high sales year for fiscal
year 2014-15, the Lottery's July sales figures represent all product offerings,
with Scratch-Off sales being primarily responsible for the record numbers.
"The Florida Lottery is proud to
continue making great strides that benefit so many in our state," said
Lottery Secretary Cynthia O'Connell.
"We remain focused on our mission
to maximize revenues for the educational programs we fund, by continuing to
explore new product offerings that will generate enthusiasm among our players,
increase sales for our retail partners and grow revenues for education,"
said Secretary O'Connell.
The recent launch of the WEEK FOR
LIFE Family of Scratch-Off games has been highly successful, due in large part
to the robust marketing campaign surrounding these games. The $10, $5, $2 and
$1 Scratch-Off games each ranked number one in their price point for all games
ever launched in the month of June. The sales success carried over into the
month of July, with total sales for these games surpassing $69 million. In
total, 35 different Florida Lottery Scratch-Off games exceeded $1 million in
sales for the month, including seven games that surpassed more than $10 million
each in sales.
Last week, the Revenue Estimating
Conference (REC) met to determine fiscal year 2015-16 goals for the Lottery.
Their forecast included Lottery ticket sales of $5.6861 billion this fiscal
year, with an estimated EETF transfer of $1.5077 billion.

Mexico Lottery Partners with Local Artist to Create a New Scratcher
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (August 3,
2015) -- Today, Super Tuesday, marks a very special occasion for the
New Mexico Lottery. For the
first time ever, the Lottery has worked with a New Mexico Artist to create a
set of one-of-a-kind Scratchers.
Titled "Dia de los Muertos," this $2

Council on Compulsive
Gambling of New Jersey Inc. Joins With the Lottery to Heighten Awareness About
the Age Restriction on Lottery Play

Leaders of the New
Jersey Lottery and the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey met
today at Acme Market, 2497 Brunswick Ave., a Lottery retailer located in
Lawrenceville, NJ, to kick off the annual Not 18 Yet? No Bet
Awareness Campaign. This campaign reminds residents and retailers that New
Jersey law prohibits the sale of lottery tickets by or to anyone under the age
of eighteen. Carole Hedinger, Executive Director, New Jersey Lottery and Neva
Pryor, Executive Director, Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey, Inc.
(CCGNJ), renewed their organizations commitment to responsible play and
the prevention of underage gambling. The Not 18 Yet? No Bet
campaign is held each year to coincide with the American Gaming
Associations Responsible Gaming Education Week, scheduled this year on
August 3-7, 2015.
The New Jersey Lottery has
a longstanding commitment to promoting responsible play and discouraging
underage gambling of any kind, said Carole Hedinger. We have
an active partnership with the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey and
support their efforts to prevent underage gambling.
As part of its effort, the New
Jersey Lottery has developed a Not 18 Yet? No Bet brochure aimed at
retailers and players that provides information about the major types of teen
betting, as well as ways to recognize signs of a gambling problem early on. The
brochure also tells concerned individuals where to go for advice and help. It

Compulsive Gambling of NJ is in the midst of a major expansion of its community

so the NJ Lottery's message and support is particularly timely, said
Neva Pryor. The Lottery continues to be a great partner in promoting
the importance of responsible gambling and in publicizing the

The Chinese lottery sector is
