Millionaire-Making TV Game Show Moves to Half-Hour Episodes

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (August 18, 2015) -- "MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB", the weekly syndicated lottery game show produced by Scientific Games Productions, LLC (a subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation), under license from Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) will debut its second season on September 12. This season, host Billy Gardell ("Mike & Molly") and local game co-host Todd Newton ("Family Game Night") return to Las Vegas to help make more and more millionaires. The "MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB" TV game show is filmed on a new, custom-built soundstage that is the largest in Nevada and atop the largest LED floor ever used on a TV series. The stage is located adjacent to Bally's Las Vegas on the Strip. Gardell and Newton will greet contestants and take them through a series of games inspired by the iconic MONOPOLY game for their chance to win a million dollars.

"We're headed back to Vegas with hundreds of lucky contestants ready for their shot at winning life-changing money," said Gardell. "We made two millionaires last season, and I want to see if we can break that record this time around."

In its first season, the "MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB" TV game show awarded record-setting amounts of money. During its 12-episode premiere run, "MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB" gave away more than $5 million in cash and prizes to contestants and audience members, and awarded two $1 million grand prizes to individuals from the Georgia Lottery and Rhode Island Lottery, which sets a record for the most cash any television game show in history has given away in its first season.

"The enthusiasm that our stations and audience showed for the first season of 'MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB' was overwhelming," said Steve Saferin, President of Properties Group and Chief Creative Officer for Scientific Games. "We are building on that success to bring more energy, more fun and massive cash prizes to the second season of this groundbreaking show."

This season the show will move to a half-hour format. Every show, three contestants will play one of eight signature games for the chance to win up to $100K. Then, one contestant will risk their winnings to advance to "GO! For A Million," the exciting final round that offers the chance to win $1 million in cash and other prizes.

The one-of-a-kind game show can be seen on stations owned by Tribune, Sinclair, Hearst, CBS, Gannett, Media General, Graham Holdings, and other leading station groups covering more than 90 percent of U.S. TV households. Visit the "MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB" website for local listings.

The "MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB" TV game show is a companion to the multi-state instant lottery game of the same name. The series was created by Scientific Games under license from Hasbro and is based on the MONOPOLY brand, which is one of the most well-known brands in the world. Lottery tickets are available at retailers in participating states.

The "MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB" studio audience consists of hundreds of lottery players, and their guests, who were awarded a five-day, four-night trip for two to Las Vegas, with a stay at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and a seat in the audience to watch the taping of the show. Contestants are randomly selected from the live studio audience to compete in an array of MONOPOLY themed games to win cash and prizes valued at $2.3 million per episode. On "MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB", the studio audience is deeply invested in the outcome as each contestant splits his or her cash winnings with one section of the studio audience in each of the signature games. In the final round, if the contestant passes GO, he or she will collect $200K to split with his or her audience section. If the contestant lands on GO, he or she wins $1 million and his or her audience section will split a cash prize worth up to another $1 million.

"When verifying a jackpot, brining machines online or auditing the gaming floor, that time is money. Regulators and operators don't have time to waste, and using a signature tool that 'may' work adds more risk and time lost, and can lead to costly delays, customer perception issues and lost revenues."

"With smart tools from GLI like the handheld Kobetron GI-4000 unit and MI-300 adapter series, regulators and operators can dramatically increase efficiencies, save time, save money, and make doing business easier. We invite regulators from all jurisdictions to visit us in booth #4430 at G2E to discover how our exclusive tools can benefit their operation," said GLI Development Manager David Elmore.

GLI invites you to be our guest at G2E 2015 with a complimentary exhibit hall pass.

New South Wales won the race to be the first state with a 1st Prize Set for Life winner and is currently on top of the leader board with a total of 59,119 prizes in 2nd to 8th Prize totalling $741,342.80.

State Total Prizes Won 2nd Prize – 8th Prize Total Prizes amount 2nd Prize – 8th Prize
New South Wales and ACT 59,119 $741,342.80
Tatts (Victoria & Tasmania) 57,011 $691,211.00
Queensland 46,686 $570,480.40
South Australia 14,944 $181,001.05
Northern Territory 2,577 $30,261.60

Set for Life is the first new national draw lottery game in almost 20 years and offers a 1st Prize of $20,000 each and every month for 20 years.

Better still, every night of the week up to four winners can claim a life-enhancing 1st Prize, and each will be Set for Life with $20,000 deposited in their bank account every month like clockwork!

Tatts Lotteries spokesperson Elissa Lewis said winning 1st Prize in Set for Life will give winners 20 years of possibilities to get more out of life.

Set for Life is unlike any lottery game that has ever been offered in Australia’s lottery history. It’s different to the weekly lottery games as it offers a draw each night of the week, seven day entries which can be purchased on any day of the week, a unique game mechanic and a brand-new proposition in the way the 1st Prize is paid to winners,” Ms Lewis explained.

Winning Set for Life offers players the chance to enhance their own life and their family’s lives by giving them the opportunity to enjoy experiences that could otherwise have remained merely dreams.

Imagine the things you’d do, the places you’d go, and what you would be if you were Set for Life.”

The Set for Life 1st Prize will be paid to winners in monthly instalments of $20,000 for 20 years.

A Set for Life draw is conducted every night of the week, 365 days each year, and players can start their seven-day Set for Life entry on any day of the week.

Each entry is a minimum of two games (SETS) each day over seven draws at a cost of $8.40 ($8.25 in South Australia).

As with all lottery games, players can choose their favourite numbers for each SET on a game coupon or have the lottery terminal randomly generate a SET of numbers for them, called a QuickSET. Players can choose QuickSETS of between 2 and 50 SETS to increase their chances of winning across seven days.

To win the 1st Prize in Set for Life, players must correctly choose the 8 winning numbers drawn from 37. Additional smaller divisional prizes can be won from 2nd Prize to 8th Prize by selecting a combination of the 8 winning numbers and 2 bonus numbers drawn. The chance of winning Set for Life 1st Prize based on playing the minimum 2 SETS in each draw is 1:19,304,010 remembering that each entry is played for seven consecutive draws.

Tickets for Set for Life are now on sale in lottery outlets around the country and online at with draws occurring every night of the week.

Virginia Lottery Turns Over More Than a Half-Billion Dollars for Virginia's K-12 Public Schools Along with Schools, Players and Retailers Win Big

RICHMOND, Virginia (August 18, 2015) -- For just the second time in its history, the Virginia Lottery has delivered more than a half-billion dollars to Virginia's K-12 public schools in a single fiscal year. The Lottery announced today that profits for the 2015 fiscal year totaled nearly $534 million.

It wasn't just education in the Commonwealth that benefitted. Players raked in a record $1.1 billion in prizes during the year, and retailers selling Virginia Lottery tickets earned nearly $104 million in commissions - a record. Many of those approximately 5,300 retailers are small independent businesses.

By law, every dollar of Lottery profits benefits K-12 education in the Commonwealth. Lottery profits make up approximately 8 percent of Virginia's K-12 education budget.

"With a combination of hard work by our team, sound business practices, new and exciting games and promotions, and, of course, a bit of luck, we increased our total sales for the year to more than $1.84 billion," said Virginia Lottery Executive Director Paula Otto. "That's good news for our schools and all Virginians, whether they play the Lottery or not."

The increase in total sales was driven by sales of Scratcher tickets, which surpassed $1 billion for the first time in a single fiscal year in Virginia.

"Many people don't realize that it's not those headline-grabbing Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots that make up the largest part of our sales," said Ms. Otto. "It's the quiet and steady sales of Scratcher games. And this year we're proud to have broken the billion-dollar mark in that category for the first time in our history."

Along with schools, Virginia Lottery players won big in FY15. The Lottery paid out a record $1.1 billion in prizes. That includes the year's biggest winner, Andy Ciaccio of Herndon, who won $5 million with a Mega Millions ticket he bought in Warrenton. A total of 28 tickets won at least $1 million during the year. That's not including tickets winning a $1 million annuity where the winner elected to take a smaller cash option. Among the million-dollar winners was a Mega Millions ticket split by an office pool of eight people in Harrisonburg. That office pool is now known as the "Awesome Eight."

One of the most exciting times for Lottery players, retailers and employees is when the jackpot gets really large. That happened when the Powerball jackpot grew to $564 million for the February 11 drawing. Eleven tickets in Virginia each won $10,000 in that drawing. Sales of Powerball tickets in the Commonwealth from that jackpot alone generated $14.4 million in profit.

"While it's exciting to see those players who've been incredibly lucky, the fact is that a very large number of people win smaller amounts," said Ms. Otto. "Overall, 60 cents on the dollar goes right back to players in the form of prizes."

During the year, the Lottery's sales staff continued working to increase the number of retailers offering Lottery tickets to their customers. Stores benefit by earning a 5 percent commission for every ticket sold, a 1 percent cashing bonus for all prizes redeemed, various sales incentives and a bonus for selling tickets that win prizes of $20,000 or more. In addition, while that lottery jackpot may bring customers in the door, those customers often end up making other purchases as well.

Schafer Systems Inc.

The Lottery also continued its strategy of working to increase its customer base. Almost one-third of adult Virginians play at least one Lottery game in a typical month.

"Growing the number of people who play the Lottery in Virginia is more than just good business; it's the socially responsible way to build sales," said Ms. Otto. "We'd rather see a larger number of people buying a few tickets each, than the same people playing more."

There's one number that the Lottery worked to keep as low as possible: the cost of running the organization. In FY15, that number was kept to just 4.9 percent of sales, which is far below the 10 percent allowed by state law. The Lottery operates entirely on money generated by sales, not tax dollars.

During the year, the Lottery introduced new draw games like $1,000,000 Money Ball and Cash4Life®. Dozens of new Scratcher games were launched like $100,000 Home Changer, which featured a unique partnership with The Home Depot® for home makeover prizes, and 7-Eleven, a Scratcher game created in partnership with 7-Eleven stores that offered a top prize of $711 per day for a year.

Innovative promotions like eXTRA, in which players can enter non-winning tickets for the chance to win great prizes, have helped the Lottery change the perception from those "traditional" lottery games. The Lottery also continues to make extensive and innovative use of its website and social media channels to give players new ways to win prizes.

"It's all fun and games, but there's a much larger purpose," said Virginia Lottery Board Chairman Fred Helm. "The Lottery exists for one reason only: To help generate funds for education in Virginia. That's why the Lottery's mission is 'Contributing to Virginia's future, one play at a time.'"

There's one other way in which the Lottery contributes to education in the Commonwealth, and it may surprise some people. In FY15, more than $12.4 million in Virginia Lottery prize money went unclaimed by the winners. By law, the Virginia Lottery gives all unclaimed prize money to the state's Literary Fund, which is used solely for educational purposes, such as upgrading technology in schools and teacher retirement funding.

In addition, the Lottery continued its acclaimed Super Teacher Awards, in which outstanding Virginia K-12 public school teachers are recognized in surprise presentations at their schools. The Super Teacher Awards consist of a $2,000 cash prize for the teacher and a $2,000 classroom credit from the Supply Room Companies. Along with the Virginia PTA, the Lottery presents the awards to eight teachers statewide.

In another unique way the Lottery benefits the Commonwealth, more than $1.8 million in unpaid taxes, fines and child support were collected from prizes. The Lottery partners with Virginia's Department of Taxation as part of the Set-off Debt Collection Act.

In the coming year, the Lottery plans to roll out new games, exciting promotions and unique ways of engaging with a new generation of Virginians.

"The Lottery has built a reputation over nearly 27 years for fun, innovation and integrity," said Ms. Otto. "Since 1999 we've generated more than $7.2 billion for K-12 public education in Virginia. The Lottery's employees across the Commonwealth are immensely proud of that."

In 2015, the Virginia Lottery was named a Top Workplace by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The Arizona Lottery Gives Big in Fiscal Year 2015

PHOENIX, Arizona (August 19, 2015) --The unaudited Fiscal Year 2015 numbers are in and Arizona players and the state of Arizona received huge payouts with over $620 million in game prize winnings and over $176 million in transfers to Arizona beneficiaries.

The Arizona Lottery is committed to increasing revenue and transfers year over year to help sustain the important programs benefitting from Lottery funding. In fact, there has been a steady climb in ticket sales during 14 of the past 15 years and increased transfers to beneficiaries in 12 of the past 15 years.

"The Lottery's mission is to generate revenues in a responsible manner to provide essential funding for important state programs," said Tony Bouie, Executive Director of the Arizona Lottery. "We are fortunate to give millions of dollars back to the Arizona community and support local businesses through sub-contracting opportunities."

Lottery dollars support a wide variety of programs under six main pillars: Arts and Education, Community Engagement, Economic Development, Environmental Conservation, Health and Human Services, and Public Safety, benefitting cities and towns throughout all of Arizona's 15 counties. More than $176 million in net funding was provided for Lottery beneficiaries during this fiscal year. Without this vital funding, many programs would not exist

Arizona Lottery beneficiary funding has helped numerous important state initiatives including delivering education, support and advocacy services to pregnant women and their families through the Arizona Department of Health Services Health Start Program, providing state of the art educational facilities for Arizona's public universities through the Arizona Board of Regents University Bond Fund, and saving endangered animals through The Heritage Fund.

In Fiscal Year 2015, three new Arizona Lottery beneficiaries were added with the enactment of Senate Bill 1477 and House Bill 2517. The beneficiaries include the Internet Crimes Against Children Enforcement Fund, the Victims' Rights Enforcement Fund, and the Tribal College Dual Enrollment Program Fund.

Lottery dollars also positively impact the almost 2,800 Arizona retailers who sell lottery tickets. In Fiscal Year 2015, lottery retailers earned more than $48 million in retailer commissions. Many Arizona retailers rely on ticket commissions to support their local businesses.

About the Arizona Lottery

The Arizona Lottery operates entirely from the revenue it generates through the sale of its products; it doesn't receive any General Fund dollars from the State. Proceeds from sales of Lottery tickets -- nearly $3.4 million per week, fund a variety of state programs. Since July 1981, the Arizona Lottery has paid out more than $6.2 billion in prizes to players, more than $3.3 billion in net funding to the state and more than $735 million in commissions to retailers. Lottery Warns of New Nationwide Scam

OKLAHOMOA CITY, Oklahoma (August 19, 2015) - The Oklahoma Lottery Commission is warning Oklahomans of a new scam circulating throughout the country seeking to mislead consumers into believing they have won a large sum of money.

Recipients receive Facebook and/or text messages from an individual claiming to be with the DC Powerball Lottery Grant. They tell the recipient they've won a large prize that can be claimed within 48 hours at the D.C. Lottery offices after transferring $950 to the scammers.

"The information in these messages is not legitimate and is not associated with any officially recognized lottery," said Rollo Redburn, Executive Director. "If any organization asks you to send an up-front payment in order to claim a prize, you should immediately contact a reliable source to verify the information, as it is very likely to be a scam." Redburn also pointed out that when you play a lottery game, Lottery employees "don't know the identity of winners until they come forward to claim their prize."

The Oklahoma Lottery security department urges anyone who receives a communication that could be a potential scam to contact the Attorney General's Office (405.521.3921) or the Federal Trade Commission (877.382.4357). If anyone receives messages similar to the above, they can call the lottery to verify the source at 405.522.7700.

Prizes exceeding $600 can be claimed at the Oklahoma Lottery Headquarters, any Authorized Lottery Claim Center or by mail. Prizes of $5,001 or more must be claimed through Lottery Headquarters in Oklahoma City.

About the Oklahoma Lottery

Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $685 million has been contributed to education since November 2005 with funds appropriated by the State Legislature to pay debt service on a higher education capital bond issue; to pay support salaries for public schools and for equipment, scholarships and other purposes at our career and technology education institutions.

Macao Gaming Show hits Three Quarters Full Mark with 89 days to Go

MACAU, SAR (August 19, 2015) -- The Macao Gaming Show (MGS) has confirmed that 75% of its exhibitor booth and stand space for the 2015 edition has been sold. With three months still to go before the doors open to the Asian gaming industry's primary exhibition, the three quarters full mark was passed weeks earlier than the corresponding landmark last year.

MGS is now in its third edition and the latest additions to the exhibition list reinforce the expo's hard earned reputation as the fastest growing expo on the international gaming calendar. Show organisers, the influential trade body MGEMA, will convene this week to discuss an extension to the exhibition floorspace.

Event Director and Show Organizer Marina Wong said: "The signs are encouraging. This year our objective was to consolidate our position following such incredible levels of growth in the first two shows. So the increasing interest is a real boost to the credentials of the show."

She added: "We also recognise that Macau remains the most significant market in the world and MGS has shown that it offers a forum where business can be done, and more importantly, where even more business can be done especially in other territories. We serve as a 'Gateway to Asia' and this message is gaining traction."

La Fleur 2015 Almanac

In addition to a large international contingent of exhibitors, the Asian industry's most influential gaming firms, who organise the show through the trade body MGEMA, will all be represented on the showfloor. However, a significant growth area has come from the leisure, entertainment and technology sectors. In addition, strong interest is also coming from Europe where negotiations are currently underway with a number of business groups looking to explore the opportunities emerging from the recently unveiled One Belt One Road initiative by the Chinese Government.

MGS will cover its six traditional gaming industry segments; Gaming Equipment and Accessories, Gaming Promoters (Junkets) and VIP Clubs, Casino Fixtures and Fittings, Promotional Services and Memorabilia, Food and Beverage and Entertainment and Performance. In addition, special pavilions and zones will be allocated to new sectors from the broader service and complementary industries. Taking place at the Venetian Macao, MGS 2015 will have a floor area of over 10,000 m2 with an estimated 100+ exhibitors and circa 10,000+ buyers coming from across the world.
