Sales of Lottery Instant Games in Montana Up More Than 44 Percent in Last Six Years

LAS VEGAS and ATLANTA (August 20, 2015) -- Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) ("Scientific Games" or the "Company") today announced that the Company has signed a new contract to provide instant games and related services to the Montana Lottery (the "Lottery"). Awarded through a competitive procurement process, the five-year contract began August 8, 2015 and may be extended by the Lottery for an additional two years.

Angela Wong, Director of Montana Lottery, said, "We are always looking for new ways to better serve our retailers and our players, and we look forward to innovating with Scientific Games to create instant games that help us drive revenue transfers to important state programs in Montana."

Scientific Games has provided instant games to the Lottery since 2007, when the Company acquired Oberthur Gaming Technologies (OGT), and it has worked with the Lottery to grow the instant product category in Montana by more than 44 percent from 2007-2014.

NOVOMATIC Achieves Record Turnover during the first Half of 2015

GUMPOLDSKIRCHEN, Ausrria (August 25, 2015) -- NOVOMATIC AG, Europe‘s largest gaming technology group recruited more than 600 new staff during the first half of the current fiscal year and was also able to increase its revenue by 5% to a new record high.

Compared to the reference period the EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) rose again to EUR 291m.

According to the interim financial report that was officially published today on the ÖKB (Österreichische Kontrollbank) website, the NOVOMATIC AG Group was able to generate the highest turnover in its 35-year history: The revenue for the first six months of 2015 reached EUR 988m.This corresponds to an increase of 5% compared to the previous year.

The NOVOMATIC AG Group employed in the first half year of 2015 18,594 staff – an increase of 3.4%.

WyoLotto Report a Successful First Year of Sales

CHEYENNE, Wyoming (August 21, 2015) -- Wyoming Lottery Corporation CEO, Jon Clontz, reported a solid first year with 577,236 winners raking in a total of $5.2 million, retailers in the state bringing in over $1 million in retailer commissions, and ticket sales picking up with the addition of Wyoming's own Cowboy Draw™ game.

The Wyoming Lottery launched its first sales on August 24, 2014 with only two national games, Mega Millions® and Powerball®. In 2013, the Wyoming Legislature passed legislation authorizing the start of a state lottery but did not designate any state funding for it.

"Thanks to the tremendous support of Wyoming residents and retailers, we've come a long way in our first year of sales," said Clontz. "I'm very proud of what the staff, board, and our partners have accomplished so far without state funding and look forward to an even stronger second year."

Since August 2014, all ticket sales have brought in $20 million. With residents so excited to buy the first Powerball and Mega Millions tickets, initial lottery sales skyrocketed with $198,612 in sales the very first day.

Wanting to give WyoLotto players better odds to win a jackpot, the Wyoming Lottery Corporation launched a Wyoming-only game, Cowboy Draw, on March 15.

Since the game's launch, four lucky Wyoming players have hit jackpots of $628,630, $286,226, $277,988, and $360,000, and more than 350 players have won $1,000 each. Total winnings for just Cowboy Draw have reached over an estimated $2.9 million.

"Tickets sales have been steady, helping us pay off our loan, which will allow us to start revenue transfer to the state," Clontz emphasized. "We are right on track to pay off the loan and at a minimum revenue transfer will begin in 2016."

Clontz pointed out that WyoLotto has already been contributing to the state's economy through retailer commissions and sponsorship of Cheyenne Frontier Days, the Wyoming State Fair, and the University of Wyoming Athletics as part of efforts to support the Wyoming community and to align with highly-attended entertainment events to promote ticket sales.

Today, WyoLotto has partnered with over 441 retailers across the state to sell lottery tickets, and has paid retailers a total of $1 million in commissions.

Retailers in Uinta County sold the majority of lottery tickets in the first year, followed by Natrona, Laramie, and Sweetwater counties.

The Wyoming Lottery Corp. is a corporate business entity established by House Bill 77 in the 2013 legislative session and signed into law by Governor Matt Mead.

The corporation operates as a private business and does not employ state employees or use state tax money. State law requires the first $6 million of Lottery revenue to be distributed to cities, towns and counties based on Wyoming's sales tax formula.

Any additional earnings will be deposited into the state's Permanent Land Fund's Common School Account.

Jumbo Interactive Release Preliminary Final Results

BRISBANE, Queensland, Australia (August 21, 2015) -- Leading internet lottery business, Jumbo Interactive (ASX:JIN) today released record Revenue and TTV (Total Transaction Value) figures due to strong growth in the Australian lottery business despite slightly lower jackpot levels. The result assisted growth in the new German lottery business which is repositioning Jumbo as a multi-jurisdictional company. Recent restructuring of the German business reduced expenses and improved marketing efforts preparing the business for an improved result in the year ahead.

 

Summary of Preliminary Final Results 2015

 

Our customer account database grew a further 11% to 1.92 million accounts which was the main driver of the 21% increase in sales and 18% increase in revenue”, said Mr Mike Veverka, CEO of Jumbo Interactive Limited.

The larger database in combination with a strong run of Jackpots has given Jumbo an excellent start to the 2016 financial year”, he added.

There has been a revenue and GST adjustment recognised in previous years (restated) which has improved the overall finances of the Company.

Cash and Balance Sheet

Cash levels remain strong with total cash at $23.8 million and Net assets of $21.7 million. Players funds increased 22% from $5.8 million to $7.1 million due to the increased level of activity. Cash net of players’ funds available to the Company remains strong at $16.7 million.

Growth in Germany

The first full year of operations in Germany saw the commencement of marketing activities to introduce www.JumboLotto.de to the lottery market. The site was upgraded throughout the year and now provides a competitive range of lottery games including group play options. The division completed the year with revenue of $172,000 and a net loss before tax of $3,591,431.

The German operation was recently restructured to reduce expenses and improve marketing efforts to prepare it for improved results in the year ahead.

The German Internet lottery market is expected to grow substantially over the next 5 years to €6 billion providing Jumbo with considerable scope for growth”, said Mr Veverka.

New Mexico Lottery Scratcher Sales Up; Powerball Sales Experience Nationwide Decline

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (August 25, 2015) --New Mexico Lottery Scratcher sales increased by 14.54% in Fiscal Year 2015 compared to Fiscal Year 2014, offsetting a 13.8% decline in drawing game sales. Money raised for college students increased this year to $41.1 million, beating last year's return of $40.9 million. It represents a return of 30 percent, a lower percentage return on sales than Fiscal Year 2014, yet higher dollar return than Fiscal Year 2014.

"We began a number of new strategies this year and players responded," said David Barden, lottery CEO. "Our partnership with players, retailers and the legislative community continues to make it possible for our children to focus on their studies rather than on finding money to pay for tuition." However, drawing games, including Powerball® and Mega Millions, did not reach as many of the big jackpots that drive big sales as in previous fiscal years. New Mexico Powerball sales were down 18.53%. Nationwide, Powerball sales declined 17.24% collectively.

Total New Mexico Lottery sales were $137 million, up by $1 million compared to Fiscal Year 2014.

Scratcher™ Sales Continue to Climb

Thanks to new initiatives led by Lottery CEO David Barden, Scratcher sales increased by more than $10 million.

The strategies include a year-long Scratcher promotion, monthly game launches, and Scratcher ticket "call outs". New advertising initiatives were also implemented, such as digital and mobile ads, transit buses and grocery "in-store" radio.

In Fiscal Year 2015, prizes totaled $75.6 million. California Lottery Introduce Its First $30 Scratcher on Hazen Holographic Board

HOLYOKE, Massachusetts (August 24, 2015) -- The California Lottery has just introduced its first $30 Scratcher which was produced on holographic board provided by the Hazen Paper Company. Virginia Lottery Launch Bank A Million!

RICHMOND, Virginia (August 25, 2015) -- Wouldn’t it be nice if you won some money, and you received a bonus to pay the taxes on your windfall? That’s the idea behind the Virginia’s Lottery’s newest game, Bank a Million.

The top prize in this draw game is $1 million. But winners of that prize receive something extra. The prize amount is calculated so that winners actually receive $1 million after the federal and state tax-withholdings. In other words, winners get to actually “bank” a million dollars.

And that’s not all. Players can win anywhere from $4 up to the million-dollar prize with a $2 ticket. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 3.8 million. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 18.3.

Bank a Million has a unique “Play Your Way” feature that allows players to select their wager amount, and the top prize they want to win. All Bank a Million tickets cost two dollars, but players can opt to:

  • * Pick one set of six numbers for a chance to win $1,000,000
  • * Pick two sets of numbers for a chance to win $500,000
  • * Pick four sets of numbers for a chance to win $250,000

Here’s how the game is played: Players select six numbers from 1 through 40. The Lottery draws six balls plus one Bonus Ball. By matching that seventh ball, players have an opportunity to increase any non-jackpot prize. The top prize is won when a player matches all six numbers without the help of the Bonus Ball.

Bank a Million tickets will be available at all Virginia Lottery retailers beginning August 30. The first drawing will be September 2. New Jersey Lottery Players Win More than $102 Million in Instant Ticket Prizes in July

TRENTON, N.J. (August 26, 2015) -New Jersey Lottery players were "hot" in July, claiming more than $102.4 million in instant ticket prizes for the month. The Lottery offers a wide variety of instant games to satisfy the many entertainment styles of the playing public. From Crossword to Monopoly, with ticket prices ranging from $1.00 up to $30.00, and Top Prizes that reach $5 million, there is a game for every budget and player desire.

Ramu Vemulapalli fulfilled his winning desires when he claimed the largest instant ticket top prize of $2,000,000 for the month, playing the Double Diamond Spectacular game.

"The retail store owner dreamt that I was going to win the jackpot," said Vemulapalli, providing evidence that anything can happen in Jersey. Mr.Vemulapalli has been playing for the past two years. He enjoys playing instant games in the $10, $20 and $30 price range.

New $1 Veterans Ticket Supports State Veterans Programs

TOPEKA, Kansas (August 27, 2015) -- The Kansas Lottery has launched a new $1 instant scratch game, the proceeds of which are directed to programs that assist Kansas military veterans. Tickets in the new 7/11/21 game sell for $1 each. Players have a chance to win hundreds of thousands of instant prizes in the game, ranging from a free ticket to $2,100. Overall odds of winning are 1 in 4.08.

Veterans games, which currently include the $2 game Super Stars and Stripes and the $1 Red, White & Blue game, as well as the 7/11/21 game, are like any other Kansas Lottery instant games in terms of odds and prize payouts.

The only difference is that proceeds from these games are directed to Kansas Veterans programs.

The Kansas Lottery is in its 13th year of generating direct revenue for programs that help Kansas military veterans.

Since the legislation authorizing Veterans Benefit games was passed in 2003, the Lottery has transferred nearly $13.6 million from the sales of these games, including $1.6 million in Fiscal Year 2015. Current beneficiaries of proceeds from Veterans tickets are:

Latest Sign-Ups Reinforce Macao Gaming Show Credentials as the 'Gateway to Asia'

MACAU, SAR (August 25, 2015) -- All the key gaming territories in Asia will be represented at The Macao Gaming Show (MGS) and its associated summit in November. The latest additions to the list of MGS exhibitors and representatives at the Macao Tourism and Culture Summit raise the Asia Pacific representation at the three-day trading event beyond last year's record levels.

Drawn from a growing tally of almost 20 countries around the Asia Pacific region, the spread of organizations from across the continent serves to reinforce the show's reputation as the 'Gateway to Asia' - a claim underpinned by the fact that MGS is both owned and organized by the Asian gaming and entertainment industry. Organizing body, the influential trade association MGEMA, will convene this week to discuss the allocation of additional space within the showfloor to house special zones for key territories, notably Korea and Japan, where interest in the show has been increasing.

The expanding Asian contingent at the Macao Gaming Show is currently centred on the gaming manufacturing sector, with Macau-based gaming giant, LT Game, among those extending their space at the exhibition this year. At the same time, strong interest is being directed from the lottery sector which will have the presence of lottery organizations in China at the MGS Summit this year. The Lottery Research Center of China will be one of the lottery based organizations taking the stage at the Venetian in November to discuss the development of the genre.

The Asian based junket organizers also continue their significant support of the show, with premier conglomerate Sun City Group nearly doubling its stand space, as do investment and finance companies including Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch, who will be keeping a close watch on the Macao Tourism and Culture Summit, most notably discussions on the Chinese Government's One Belt One Road initiative, which promises significant capital investment in the infrastructures of cities around the Asian Pacific region.

Event Director and Show Organizer Marina Wong said: "Macao Gaming Show has been promoting its theme of 'By Asia for the world' very heavily over the past 18 months and for good reason. And further afield, exhibitors and summit representatives from countries including Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia are signed up to MGS, as much for its appeal to the Macau market as well as the growing international dimension at the show.

Wong added: "Our exhibitors recognize that Macau remains the most significant single-market in the world and MGS has shown that it offers a forum where business can be done, and more importantly, where more business can be done especially in other territories. We serve as a 'Gateway to Asia' and this message is gaining traction."

MGS will cover its six traditional gaming industry segments; Gaming Equipment and Accessories, Gaming Promoters (Junkets) and VIP Clubs, Casino Fixtures and Fittings, Promotional Services and Memorabilia, Food and Beverage and Entertainment and Performance. In addition, special pavilions and zones will be allocated to new sectors from the broader service and complementary industries. Taking place at the Venetian Macao, MGS 2015 will have a floor area of over 10,000 m2 with an estimated 100+ exhibitors and circa 10,000+ buyers coming from across the world.
