Michigan Lottery Launch Pollard Banknote's New Power Bingo
WebPlay® Interactive Game Guaranteed to Call Out the Word
WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada (December
7, 2015) - Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) ("Pollard Banknote"), a leading
lottery partner that provides instant tickets, interactive solutions, and
marketing support, is excited to congratulate the Michigan Lottery on the
launch of its latest interactive productthe Power Bingo app. Developed by
Pollard Banknote, the new app has a refreshed look and game play that rivals
the design standards of the most popular mobile Bingo apps. The Power Bingo app
is the company's latest interactive and technology-enabled 'Space Between'
product that adds an interactive component to support instant tickets at
The app offers more ways to win,
with multipliers and instant wins with more prizes, including Players Club
points and dollars off coupons that all add to the anticipation and excitement
of the game. The new app also has improved technology, built to give players
the ability to not only play on the mobile app or desktop computer, but also on
a mobile browser. This widens the choice for how players access their favourite
Bingo game. The new landscape orientation gives players a widened view of up to
two cards in play, call numbers at the top of the screen and a condensed call
history diagram. A bright blue background, fun music and playful sound effects
all contribute to the overall game experience.
The Power Bingo app is the Lottery's
latest WebPlay® game, an innovation created by Pollard Banknote to add
value to instant tickets while supporting brick-and-mortar retailers. These
games extend the life of instant scratch tickets by providing a dynamic,
interactive game that is tied to an instant ticket and played on a lottery's
website or through a mobile app. Since the launch of the first WebPlay®
game in January 2012, more than 34 million WebPlay® games have been played.
These games have been proven sales drivers for the associated tickets at
retail, and are a way to engage the younger demographic.
Both the app and the web-based
versions can also be played for fun without the purchase of an instant scratch
ticket. Since the play style of the interactive game closely matches the play
style of the instant ticket, this play-for-fun option gives players the
opportunity to try Power Bingo before they buy ita proven way to
effectively increase positive purchasing decisions.
The Michigan Lottery was the first
to launch a WebPlay® game Cashword first as a $3 ticket, but
over time, the Lottery's Cashword family has expanded to include the $5 and $10
price points. With each new launch, Pollard Banknote enhanced the interactive
game with added play features and new graphics. The sales results have been
outstanding. With each new Cashword addition, each price point in the family
has experienced significant growth in sales. Since the first Cashword app was
offered in 2012, overall crossword sales have grown from approximately $119
million to $156 million in 2015, an increase of 31%! The Lottery's Cashword
game also won the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries'
Best New Instant Game of the Year in 2012. Taking a lesson from the Crossword
category, lotteries can introduce the new Power Bingo app to rejuvenate the
Bingo category, which, in many jurisdictions has experienced growth challenges
over the past few years.
"At Pollard Banknote, we focus on
developing innovations that will drive sales and attract younger players. Our
WebPlay® games extend the play value of an instant ticket with the
understanding that technologyespecially mobile technologyis an
integral part of people's lives," said Nancy Bettcher, Vice President,
Product Innovation & Development. "The statistics support the importance
of the mobile channel. Three-fifths of games played for fun are played on
mobile. Research shows that the 18-to-34 demographic accounts for about 60% of
WebPlay® app downloads. For all of these reasons, we anticipate that the
Power Bingo app will prove to be very appealing to the Michigan Lottery's
The Michigan Lottery is on a
fast-growing list of lotteries that areengaging players with Pollard Banknote's
WebPlay® interactive games and apps, including those in Idaho, Maryland,
California, Kansas, and Québec.

Launch Online Sports Betting Site
CÓRDOBA, Argentina (December
3, 2015) --
Instituto Provincial de Loterías y Casinos de Misiones (IPLyC)
(English: The Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos of Misiones)
launched the online sports betting site "MisionBet", through which players can
participate in sports betting and other gambling online.
The site became available
The debut of Misionbet, the portal
of sports betting and online gaming Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos
of the State Society (IPLyC SE) was performed at midmorning at the Maitei
Posadas Hotel & Resort, Posadas. The announcement was attended by the
president of IPLyC SE, Eduardo Torres; Games manager of the Institute Raul
Segovia; the owner of the company Integrated Systems Game, Luis Bernstein;
Technology Director, Matthias Spilkin; Project Misionbet chief, Omar
Irrazábal; the head of the Department of Creative Management and Public
Relations On Line Games, Patricia Bertolotti; the general supervisor of IPLyC
SE, Fernando climbing, and general supervisor of IPLyC Comfort, John Re.
Torres welcomed the launch of
Misionbet and recalled that it was a pending issue and demanded much effort it
started. He noted that after taking the first term, in 2003, he began a
dialogue with the owners of those based casinos in Misiones to initiate this
development because he understood that this was the future of the game in the
country and the world. "We had little support and our concern to move within
the Association of Lotteries, Pools and Casinos of Argentina (ALEA) and long we
struggle, discussed, debated, proposed, to treat all lotteries we assume the
role It corresponds," he confided.
He said there are more than seven
thousand pages in which you can make sports betting, casino games explode,
slots, but "unfortunately, our colleagues, some in particular, acted only
against legalized gambling in the country. When otorgábamos a permit or
a concession to operate a gaming site, we had problems with National Lottery
judgment made both us and the page that exploited the game, but never took
action with hundreds of thousands of illegal games that raised the betting
irresponsibly ". As a state and State Lottery "not only have to regulate the
activity of gambling game but also control who are playing, and from other
provinces avoided that responsibility: on those websites there is no control
over whether play minor , where the money comes from, how it is paid or if they
are scammed punters ".
He explained that this fight was
exposed in the various meetings that took ahead ALEA, and then withdrew from
the Association because "we understood that we could not keep up with the
hypocrisy of traveling the world to learn about the latest technologies, to
talks and when it came time to act nobody took over and continued to denounce
the game that had a legal authority and turning a blind eye to illegal
That's why "we will start working
on missions and from there we will expand to the rest of the country. I think
we will have a chance to start arguing again with colleagues from other
lotteries to promote this game and compete with all illegal pages in the world.
We spoke with many companies until we met the members of this firm and after
many twists and turns, arguments, disappointments, today we present this page
to be advanced.
"We are aware that in any
business, social entrepreneurship, the human factor is of fundamental
importance, and for this development we considered the Sales Network, as with
everything we do," he said.
A before and after in the way you
Bernstein thanked the trust and
highlighted the tenacity and determination of Torres, whom he considered
"the forerunner in Argentina of online games, which are rife in Europe,
America and Asia and we thank IPLyC SE insertion into missions, opening the
door to regulation in the country."
He described Misionbet as the
next-generation platform online game that allows access to casino games, slots,
sports and other games regulated by the Institute. "It is the online game
platform of IPLyC SE. It is the first and only online gaming site a Provincial
Institute of Lottery and Casinos in Argentina. It is a platform in the province
of Misiones, which will mark a before and after in the way you play expanding
possibilities than from anywhere with internet access, using computers, tablets
and mobile phones. And it essential to providing a network of agencies that are
equipped with computers to allow all clients to access Misionbet tool," he
He alleged that the platform, which
was developed entirely in Argentina by Argentine and Argentine, regulation
IPLyC add SE will allow legal access to all missionaries, to the comfort of
playing from their homes, workplaces, and allowing that the funds paid to the
Institute by such concepts, once the prizes and taxes paid, enter the
provincial treasury to its application to social purposes made by the body.
According to Bernstein, born with
the first platform Misionbet regulated online gaming a Provincial Institute in
Argentina "that is here to stay and grow permanently for those who like to
entertain and play for the benefit of the entire network of official agencies
and workers in the sector with the opening of a new way of playing both times
to the public as the 24 hours 365 days from anywhere with an Internet
He struggled because the example
that IPLyC is provided from missions with the launch of Misionbet allow the 23
jurisdictions, "to identify the benefits of the regulation of online gaming
in each of its territories for the money of their activities to audit taxed and
which corresponds in taxes."
Spilkin then spoke about the
functioning of the platform Misionbet, the new way to play in Argentina.
At the end of the conference they
were presented to the promoters were recorded in
credit to users to bet on Misionbet.
MisionBet is the new way to play
proposed by the Institute of Lottery and Casinos of Misiones. It is a
proprietary online platform through which they can work and play sports betting
online. Managed in conjunction with the company Integrated Systems SA, the
platform will offer missionaries the possibility of betting on the various
sports: football, tennis, rugby, basketball, etc., while playing slots and
other games as online casinos.
Thus, the IPLyC stands at the
forefront of lotteries in the country to be one of the few that offers this
type of game mode from a platform. The system, available only to the
missionaries, who may start playing www.misionbet.com.ar registering in credit

Approve Dutch Lottery Merger
NETHERLANDS (December 8, 2015) --
The Authority for Consumer and Market (ACM) approved the merger between the
Dutch State Lottery Management
Foundation and the National
Foundation Sporttotalisator (De Lotto) after thorough research.
Chris Fonteijn, CEO of ACM, "It
appears that the State Lottery and Lotto in practice and in competition,
including through the strict regulation around gambling. Our research shows
that this merger has only a limited effect on the gaming market."
In the lottery market remain after
the merger of two large organizations. The first is the new combination-State
Lottery Lotto which the State Lottery, Million Game, Lotto, Euro Jackpot, Lucky
Day and Toto Scratch market. The second is the Charity Lottery, including the
lottery and the Friends Lottery. Both organizations following the merger, about
half of the current gambling market.
All these lottery games have their
own group of players. The study of ACM appears that few consumers switch
between different lotteries.
Sufficient competition as online
gaming market is coming
In 2017 is probably the online
gaming market in the Netherlands legally. Therefore, ACM also examined the
competitive position in that market. There are at least strong competitive
foreign parties. Chris Fonteijn: Besides the foreign parties also have
the Charity Lottery the opportunity to compete in the online gaming market with
the combination Lottery-Lotto. So there are plenty of competing domestic and
foreign parties. We see the merger now no risk of a dominant position of the
State Lottery-Lotto on the online gaming market."
Stringent rules for gambling
Netherlands has strict regulations
on gambling. For example, the national government provides for any kind of
lottery on one license. This prevents a lot of lotteries are all vying for the
favor of the same players. The rules should include preventing gambling
addiction and contribute to it that there is little competition between the

Release First Fantasy Sports Consumer Protection Guidelines
All fantasy sports
companies urged to adopt these guidelines developed in conjunction with the
industry to cover essential age verification and customer assistance
WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 8, 2015)
-- Today the National Council on Problem Gambling released the worlds
first fantasy sports consumer protection guidelines. The guidelines outline
essential age verification, player information, self-exclusion and data and
customer assistance provisions. These guidelines were based on NCPGs
best-practice Internet Responsible Gambling Standards and adapted specifically
for the fantasy sports industry.
NCPG encourages all fantasy sports
companies and organizations like the Fantasy Sports Trade Association and
Fantasy Sports Control Agency to adopt these provisions. NCPG President Wiley
Harwell commented: While we take no position on the legality of daily
fantasy sports, we know that some players have developed problems so our goal
is to set a clear and high standard for consumer protection. The
guidelines build on the fantasy sports resolution adopted by the Board of
Directors on October 8, 2015.
Keith Whyte, NCPG Executive Director
noted: We have been working on these issues for several years and
appreciate the support of many individuals and operators in the fantasy sports
industry. Several fantasy sports operators were involved in
developing the guidelines and DraftDay is the first to implement these
policies. Rich Roberts, President of Sportech/DraftDay said: As the
only B2B daily fantasy operator that has built and operated regulated platforms
in other markets, it was important to work with NCPG as we have done
previously. Robust consumer protections are essential to build confidence among
regulators, legislators and customers.

Show organisers MGEMA confirmed:
"This is excellent news for the show. The growth of the MICE programme in
Macau has meant that there is strong competition for exhibition slots and as a
major international show, we have a number of factors we need to consider. Most
importantly, MGS has established itself as a traditional November event -
equidistant in timing between G2E Las Vegas and ICE in London."
"That's where the Macao show sits
- a bridge which links the global gaming and entertainment industry during a
crucial manufacturing and selling period for all the businesses. We feel
compelled to maintain that positioning and to stay focused on delivering Asia's
primary event to both a domestic and international audience. We were able to
push hard and negotiate the November slot and appreciate the support of the
Venetian, our sponsors - the SAR Government departments - and our exhibitors
who have all backed our endeavours in this matter."
The Macao Gaming Show continues to
enjoy strong growth in the international marketplace with the recent 2015
edition attracting a record number of exhibitors (168) on the showfloor, plus
representations in the separate French, Korean and Macau pavilions. The
exhibition occupied a record breaking 12,000 sqm of stand space - nearly 20
percent larger than last year - to establish itself as one of the top three
independent exhibitions in the Macau SAR.
