As the product journey begins, our visitors will have the opportunity to explore our latest and greatest solutions in the Retail area. Moving on to the Retail Plus section, our visitors will be offered an exclusive preview and first-hand experience of products and solutions to-be-launched for the first time, that have been designed to specifically serve a vast variety of needs and requirements of both players and business partners. One of INTRALOT’s new product family is the Self-Service Terminal line (SST) that expands INTRALOT’s retail offering and addresses new players’ needs. Florida Lottery Achieves Highest Sales Month Ever

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (January 25, 2016) - The Florida Lottery announces that it has broken its all-time monthly sales record with January sales exceeding $603 million thus far, with one week remaining. The Lottery’s previous record was March 2015 when sales reached $539.5 million.

These tremendous sales mean great things for Florida, as Lottery players, retailers and the state’s education system will directly benefit," said Tom Delacenserie, Secretary of the Florida Lottery. "To be just three weeks into 2016, and already have hundreds of millions of dollars in prizes won, and an estimated $187 million in revenue generated for education is truly unprecedented."


A large portion of January’s record-breaking sales came from POWERBALL®, which accounted for $237.6 million of sales, 40 percent of which will go to education. The Lottery’s flagship draw game, FLORIDA LOTTO®, has also been experiencing a series of jackpot rollovers, which has generated higher sales. Couple that with the increased popularity of the Lottery’s daily draw games and assortment of Scratch-Off games, and the result is a winning combination.

New AGA Report Proves Gaming’s Dedication to Anti-Money Laundering Compliance

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 21, 2016) --The casino gaming industry is dedicated to anti-money laundering (AML) compliance and, in partnership with Ernst & Young, it’s now been proven.

AGA today released the most comprehensive examination ever conducted of the U.S. casino gaming industry’s compliance with federal AML laws and regulations.

This report comes ahead of the upcoming Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Mutual Evaluation, which is taking place this year for the first time in a decade.


The FATF mutual evaluation process results in comprehensive written reports that are used by governments and the private sector to understand the money laundering and terrorist financing risks posed by countries and the financial sectors within them.

 Report Reinforces Gaming Industry's Leadership in Money-Laundering Prevention

 According to the report, casinos and gaming organizations across the country are more invested, compliant and vigilant than ever before in combatting money laundering and terrorist financing.

This morning, Reuters wrote about the new report, saying "casino AML spending surges, driven by new hires, training, tech."

The article notes that the industry's relationship with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has helped casinos better understand regulatory expectations.

Over the past five years, gaming companies have increased AML compliance budgets by 74 percent, implemented a sweeping series of customer due diligence programs, and partnered closely with law enforcement and regulatory officials to ensure Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) standards are met.

  • Industry Boosts AML Compliance Investment Across the Board: According to Ernst & Young's research, more than two-thirds of gaming companies studied (68%) have increased their organization’s AML budget – on an average of 74 percent per organization – over the past five years. Two-in-three (65%) plan to increase their AML budget even more in the upcoming fiscal year with an increasing number of new full-time hires.

Gaming Continues Its Vigilance: The gaming industry’s Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) filings more than doubled – up 164 percent – between 2011 and 2014. At the same time, state and federal law enforcement officials interviewed for this research indicated that the quality of the industry’s BSA reports has improved.

  • Regulatory and Law Enforcement Officials: Gaming Industry Committed to AML Monitoring and Quality BSA Reporting: The majority (71 percent) of law enforcement and regulatory agency officials interviewed by Ernst & Young say the gaming industry understands the importance of SARs, Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and monetary instrument log reporting requirements. Law enforcement and regulatory officials report finding a greater emphasis by the gaming industry on training staff and hiring experienced AML personnel.
  • Gaming Not Tolerating Bad Behavior: In 2014, the number of customer relationships terminated due to unacceptable levels of risk was 23 times more than in 2011.

The casino industry is one of many industries that will be assessed during the FATF Mutual Evaluation, and our hope is that FATF will carefully consider AGA’s 2016 AML Report as it develops its findings and conclusions related to our industry.

 This report, much like the AGA’s Best Practices for AML Compliance, is also part of a concerted effort to continue to strengthen our ties with prominent regulatory organizations including the U.S. Treasury Department and FinCEN.

The Numbers Are in! World Record Jackpot Generates $266.7 Million in Texas Powerball® and Power Play® Sales

AUSTIN, Texas (January 21, 2016) – Record sales for the roll up to the Jan. 13 Powerball drawing for a $1,586,400,000 jackpot, the largest lottery jackpot in world history, generated $266.7 million in sales in Texas, resulting in $106.7 million for Texas’ Foundation School Fund.

While there was no jackpot winner in Texas for last week’s world record Powerball drawing, Texas public schools were big winners,” said Gary Grief, chair of the Powerball game and executive director of the Texas Lottery.

National sales for the Powerball jackpot created a windfall of funding for important causes supported by state lotteries across the country. Total national Powerball draw sales for the roll cycle from Nov. 5 to Jan. 13 were $3.358 billion resulting in $1.3 billion in revenue for causes including college scholarships, education, veterans, senior citizens and the environment.

Texas Powerball players and our lottery retailers also benefited from historic sales. Powerball sales from Nov. 5 to Jan. 13 culminated in $49 million in prizes to players and $13 million in retailer commissions. For the Jan. 13 drawing, nationally, there were 26,110,643 non-jackpot prizewinning tickets sold and Texas sold 2,289,864 nonjackpot prizewinning tickets for the Jan. 13 drawing.

Last fiscal year the Texas Lottery generated record revenue for the state and with sales from this world record jackpot, we are already positioned to break last year’s record,” said Grief.


Jackpot winning tickets for the Jan. 13 drawing were sold in California, Florida and Tennessee.

The jackpot’s final cash value was $983,505,233 and the winning numbers were 4-8-19-27-34 and Powerball 10.

Texas saw its best hour of Powerball sales in the lottery’s 24 year history on Jan. 13 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with $8.6 million in sales.

Four lucky Texans missed winning the Jan. 13 jackpot by one number but matched five of the six numbers drawn winning second-tier prizes of $1 million or $2 million.

The Jan. 13 jackpot started at $40 million on Nov. 7, 2015, and was the result of 19 drawings with no jackpot winner.


Powerball jackpots start at $40 million and roll until the jackpot is won. Players win the jackpot by matching five numbers from a field of 69 numbers and one Powerball number from a field of 26 numbers. Plays cost $2 each.

The Power Play® option, which multiplies any prize you win except the jackpot, is available for an extra $1 per play.

Texas has had two Powerball jackpot winners since joining the multistate Powerball game in 2010.

Powerball sales from Jan. 10 to Jan. 13 were $109.1 million, a new record in Texas beating the $70.5 million in sales for the previous Powerball drawing. Texas sales represented 8.6 percent of total Powerball sales for the drawing.

Powerball sales for Jan. 13 in Texas were $65.2 million, a new record beating the $44.4 million in sales for the previous Powerball drawing. Texas sales represented 9.9 percent of total Powerball sales for the day.

Nationally, total Powerball sales from Jan. 10 to Jan. 13 were $1.27 billion.

New Maryland Lottery Cash4Life Game Offers Top Prize of $1,000 a Day for Life

BALTIMORE, Maryland (January 25, 2016) - Who wouldn’t like to win $1,000 a day for life -- or even $1,000 a week for life? The Maryland Lottery is betting Marylanders will love to play Cash4Life, a multi-state game that is growing in popularity.

Maryland is the sixth state to offer the game, which features a top prize of $1,000 a day for life and a second-tier prize of $1,000 a week for life. Tickets go on sale today at the Maryland Lottery’s nearly 4,600 retailers, and the state will participate in its first Cash4Life drawing on Thursday, Jan. 28. Drawings take place at 9 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, with ticket sales ending at 8:45 p.m. on drawing nights. 

We’re always looking for ways to keep our games fresh and exciting,” said Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director Gordon Medenica. “We are confident that our players are going to have a lot of fun with Cash4Life. Sometimes you see games that say ‘for life,’ but they’re really for 20 or 25 years. This truly is $1,000 a day for life, and that’s a concept that really resonates with people.”

Players who try out the game from Jan. 26 - March 8 can have even more fun with the Lottery’s new game promotion. Lottery terminals will print a free ($2 value) Cash4Life ticket at random based on statewide sales when a player buys tickets valued at $1 or more for any draw game. Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th August are the dates for the 2016 Australasian Gaming Expo to be held at Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island.

Featuring more than 200 exhibitors across 17,000 square metres of exhibition space, the Australasian Gaming Expo is easily the biggest event of its type in Australia and one of the world's biggest.

All indications are that the exhibition will again be full to capacity with a wide range of companies showcasing the world’s best gaming and related equipment and services.

Following on from last year’s Gaming Expo where we saw a 16.5% increase in visitors over the previous year’s Expo, there are a number of improvements being introduced this year.

These include greater use of the Glebe Island site resulting in a 9% increase in floor space, the installation of a visitor’s lounge that takes advantage of the panoramic views of the harbour and an exhibitor’s sales area which will preview the Australasian Gaming Expo for 2017.

Of course there’s more to the Expo than a cruise, with one visitor summing up their Gaming Expo experience in the following words: “I find the AGE great for networking and I’m easily able to compare products & services under the same roof.” In fact, our post show research showed that 93% of the visitors saw the Expo as an opportunity to see new products and technology.

Event owner and operator, the Gaming Technologies Association, will again add to the fun by offering a surprise trip for 2 to Las Vegas for visitors at each day of the Expo, which was won last year by Liz Jacobs from the Hellenic Club in the ACT, Rod Pittorino from the Bayview Hotel at Gladesville in NSW and Gavin Hood from Skycity in Auckland.

Of course the Gaming Technologies Association’s members, whose exhibition stands would sit comfortably alongside the world’s best at any global event, will be in full force at the Australasian Gaming Expo - which is the “must attend” 2016 gaming trade event.

Note: The Australasian Gaming Expo is a trade exhibition, for management representatives of Gaming Industry Organisations only including government, regulatory, research and support bodies, clubs, hotels, casinos, resorts and similar Hospitality Industry venues.

Trade suppliers are not eligible to attend the event unless exhibiting.
