IGT Sign Seven-Year Contract with the Virginia Lottery to Provide New Lottery Technology and Services

LONDON, U.K. (March 29, 2016) – International Game Technology PLC (“IGT”) (NYSE:

IGT) announced that its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, has signed a seven-year contract with the Virginia Lottery for the provision of new lottery technology and services, following a competitive procurement process. The initial term of the contract runs through October 21, 2024, and allows for two three-year extension options.

Under the contract terms, the Virginia Lottery will receive components of IGT’s Aurora™ platform. Aurora Open Retail (f/k/a NEOS), a new retail solution software architecture, will enable the Lottery to support multiple types of retailer solution devices in an efficient manner, improving time to market. The Aurora Lottery Services Portal, a robust, interactive website, will provide the tools independent and corporate retailers need to successfully start, manage, and grow their lottery business without being tied to a lottery terminal. In addition, the Lottery will receive Aurora Navigator (f/k/a NVISION) back-office applications for lottery personnel who will have the ability to customize the look and feel

of the interface to meet their exact needs, help them better manage their business, and enhance productivity.

The Virginia Lottery will also receive 5,500 Altura™ Flex draw-based lottery terminals which feature a highly-configurable platform derived from IGT’s Altura GT1200 product, and a smaller footprint.

The Aurora MultiMedia digital advertising display solution will be provided to stimulate increased brand awareness, winner awareness, and player recognition of jackpots and game activities, directly at the point-of-sale, as well as Ticket-Scan™ Plus self-service ticket checkers for players.

Additionally, the Gemini™ Touch, IGT’s new self-service lottery vending machine, provides fully customizable screens and supports up to 28 instant-ticket games and a configurable number of draw games.

The communications network will be upgraded utilizing next-generation satellite technology.

In addition to the installation and maintenance of the central system, terminals, and communications network, IGT will provide warehousing and distribution for instant tickets, field services, and marketing support. The control room/operations is co-located with the Virginia Lottery where both IGT and the Lottery manage day-to-day operations.

INTRALOT Renews Contract in Minas Gerais, Brazil

ATHENS, Greece (March 30, 2016) -- INTRALOT Group announces that its subsidiary, INTRALOT do Brasil, has signed a six-year renewal contract to continue to operate the lottery games in the State of Minas Gerais in Brazil. The renewal contract follows an initial successful six-year operation contract signed between the two parties that has become a major funding source for social policy, education and health care initiatives in the district. INTRALOT deployed more than 2,500 of its proprietary terminals in this period and established 1,700 Points of Sales statewide.

Currently, INTRALOT offers five games (Keno, Multiplix, Minas 5, Lotomias and Totolot).  In the new contract period it is expected to expand even further its gaming portfolio adding Virtual Games initially in 400 points of sales, as well as alternative channels. INTRALOT will continue to have the complete operation of the project, including all related services.

De Lotto Adds Trekpleister to In-Lane Sales Network

Lotto24 is on Track for Success

  • Strong growth in in billings and revenues

HAMBURG, Germany (March 24, 2016) - 2015 was a successful year for Lotto24 AG, Germany's leading provider of state-licensed lotteries via the Internet. The annual financial report, published today, confirms the KPIs reported preliminarily in January. Billings and revenues both increased in 2015: by 67% from EUR 81.7 million to EUR 136.3 million and by 75% from EUR 7.7 million to EUR 13.5 million, respectively. At the same time, the gross margin improved from 9.5% to 9.9%.

With this growth, Lotto24 increased the market share from 21% in the previous year to 26%. According to information released by the German Lottery Association ("Deutscher Lottoverband"), online sales of the 16 state lottery companies and private brokers grew from EUR 390 million in 2014 to around EUR 520 million in 2015 and thus accounted for 7% of total German lottery sales in 2015 (prior year: 6%).

Aided by the very favourable jackpot trends of "Lotto 6aus49" and "EuroJackpot", as well as by efficient marketing activities, Lotto24 gained a total of 361 thousand new customer registrations in 2015 (prior year: 284 thousand) and thus easily exceeded the figure forecast in September of at least 320 thousand new customers.

This is the highest number of new customer registrations Lotto24 AG has ever gained in a single fiscal year since its foundation. On 31 December 2015 the number of registered customers amounted to 883 thousand (prior year: 521 thousand).

Cost per lead (CPL) was strongly reduced by around 27% to EUR 32.99 (prior year: EUR 45.16). The marketing expenses amounted to EUR -11.9 million (prior year: EUR -12.8 million).

As planned, Lotto24 successfully completed the insourcing of the IT in the fourth quarter 2015. This enables the company to meet their own development needs more quickly, flexibly and easily in future and gives technological independence.

Already in the first quarter 2016, the new products "Keno" and lotto clubs were integrated on the online platform.

Despite the investments made in expanding the market leadership and setting up the own IT department, the operating result (EBIT) amounted to EUR -13.4 million (prior year: EUR -14.2 million) and the net result for the period improved to EUR -10.8 million (prior year: EUR -16.0 million).

Lotto24 AG is well prepared to consolidate and to further expand its market lead.

The quarterly announcement as of 31 March 2016 will be published on 12 May 2016.

NYX Signs Letter of Agreement in Netherlands with De Nederlandse Staatsloterij / De Lotto

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (March 24, 2016) – NYX Gaming Group Limited (TSX VENTURE: NYX) (“NYX Gaming Group”), a market leading content and technology supplier to lotteries, casinos and gaming operators across the globe, is delighted to announce the signing of a letter of intent with de Nederlandse Staatsloterij / De Lotto to execute an agreement for an integration of digital gaming content and player account management via NYX’s Open Platform System (OPS™)

Recently, New Jersey players have been on an unprecedented winning streak.

The game began with an exciting win right after launch when a New York ticketholder had the honor of claiming the first top-prize of $1,000 a Day for Life from the June 23, 2014 drawing. Shortly after, New Jersey players Christina and Vikram Bahadur claimed the first second-tier top prize win of $1,000 a Week for Life from the July 21, 2014 drawing. On Oct. 16, 2014, New Jersey sold a second-tier prize winning ticket to Charles Hope, a Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania resident. A promotional event was held at his lucky retailer, Hainesville General Store, 283 Route 206 South, Branchville in Sussex County.

New Jersey’s first top-tier prize winners were Joseph Ianiro and John Opaluch from Hasbrouck Heights. They bought their winning ticket from Nick’s Quick Stop, 183 Boulevard, Hasbrouck Heights in Bergen County for the Nov. 13, 2014 drawing. They shared their winning story with various news outlets and recently appeared on the HGTV television program “My Lottery Dream Home,” as they shared the excitement of selecting their new home with the public.

On Jan. 5, 2015, New Jersey celebrated a second-tier prize winner, Luis Rivas, from Port Chester, New York as he purchased the winning ticket from Shoppers Express, 525 Avenel St., Avenel in Middlesex County.

New Jersey had another top-tier win from the July 27, 2015 drawing which was claimed by Lundavra, LLC, of Bergen County, owned by Julie Tung. The year ended with an incredible string of New Jersey successes with winning tickets sold for the Dec. 10 (second-tier), Dec. 24 (top-tier), Dec. 31 (second-tier) draws.

Then, the New Year came charging in with a top-tier win on Jan. 21, 2016 followed by two second-tier prizewinning tickets being sold, one in New Jersey and the other in Pennsylvania from the Feb. 18 drawing. Again, on Feb. 22, two more second-tier prizewinning tickets were sold in New Jersey and in New York. All of the 2016 tickets remain unclaimed as of this writing.

We were fortunate to meet our Dec. 10 winner, Rosa Delon, a beautician from Passaic in Passaic County. She claimed her second-tier prize in January. She discovered that she was the big winner when she went to her retailer, Luigi’s Liquors, 175 Jefferson St., Passaic, to buy her weekly games. While she was there, the store owner checked the ticket and, “I saw the machine doing something,” Delon said. The first thing that Delon said that she will do with the winnings is to write a $10,000 check to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In addition, she will buy a house and help her family financially.

We were also fortunate to meet Wade Boyle and Kathryn Soistmann, owners of the Soaring Birdhouse, LLC of Camden County, who claimed the top-prize from the Dec. 24 drawing. Mr. Boyle purchased his ticket on Christmas Eve but hadn’t check the numbers until the following Monday.

Boyle self-checked the ticket and received the ‘See Clerk’ message on the machine. We met the winners at the end of January at headquarters. They told us that they have six grandchildren between them and aside from paying their own bills, they will help their families. An Alaskan land and sea vacation also appears to be on the horizon for the couple.

Boyle has been playing the Lottery since it began in 1970. When the CASH4LIFE game was launched, he liked the concept and began playing it immediately. It is now a part of his favorite mix of online games including Powerball, Mega Millions and Pick-6. Boyle continues to play Lottery because as we know, anything can happen in Jersey. His lucky retailer is Winslow Citgo, 172 Route 73, Braddock in Camden County.

Edward Harley from Randolph, N.J. in Morris County claimed his second-tier winning ticket from the Dec. 31, 2015 drawing by mail. Harley has been playing the Lottery since it began. ShopRite Liquors of Rockaway, 439 Route 46 East, Dover in Morris County is Harley’s lucky location but not his typical lottery stop. While he was in the store, he decided to add a ticket to his purchase. “It was fate,” Harley said. For now, he is still planning on how he will spend the cash but said, “I am going to keep on playing.”

The lucky Lottery retailers that sold these winning tickets also benefit. For selling a top-prize winning ticket they each receive a $30,000 bonus commission and for selling a second-tier prize winning ticket they each receive a $10,000 bonus commission.

Existing sports lotteries have tended to focus on extending the product offer as a way of driving engagement and retention.

But the products themselves – particularly when they take the form of a standard sportsbook with functionality limited by legislation – have not kept pace with the needs of the industry.

This will change as new innovative products hit the market. Against the backdrop of punitive taxation regimes, lotteries have been placed in a position where they must innovate or die.

As new jurisdictions begin to open up to online gaming, lotteries are presented with a great opportunity to expand their product offer and capitalise on the demand for engaging content.

Those which adapt and ensure they offer innovative new products are the ones which will make the biggest impact in new verticals.

New Contracts for Heilongjiang Province Position DJI Holdings in Readiness for the Return of Online Lottery Sales

Significant new contracts for Heilongjiang Province joint venture

CHESHIRE, U.K. (March 30, 2016) -- DJI Holdings plc (AIM: DJI, "the Group", "DJI"), a licensed promotion solutions and service provider of Chinese sports and welfare lottery products to third party retailers and direct to consumers, is pleased to announce significant new contracts for its joint venture with Heilongjiang Sports Bureau ("HSB") for lottery services.

The addition of new lottery services supported by DJI in this significant province is the latest initiative by the Group in anticipation of the lifting of the temporary suspension of lottery sales in China, whilst central government develops a better regulated lottery landscape. To that end, the joint venture aims to provide a complete lottery solution for Heilongjiang, spanning content, promotion and new media, working with major strategic partners in e-commerce and digital broadcasting.

DJI, through its joint venture with HSB, Longti, has secured an exclusive service agreement to operate sports lottery scratchcard sales across Heilongjiang Province. Under the agreement, Longti has full responsibility for all marketing and promotion of this key lottery product, sales of which totalled RMB 635m (GBP70m) in 2015, and it will receive both a marketing fee and share of revenues for its services. A further initiative to develop and launch online sales of physical scratchcards is already underway. The incremental revenue generated from scratchcard activity in Heilongjiang is expected to be substantial in the current financial year.

In addition, Longti has been granted a contract by the Heilongjiang Sports Lottery Administration Centre to launch DJI's sports betting platform on the province's official website, along with the provision of news, analysis and exclusive information. The platform will promote sports betting during the forthcoming Euro 2016 football tournament, which is expected to be an important revenue-enhancing event for the lottery industry, and will also support in-store lottery sales throughout the province. The online promotion of this land-based lottery will be enhanced by a new loyalty programme offering bonus points to players, which may be converted to digital game tickets in all lottery stores across the province.

An important aspect of the HSB relationship and these latest contracts is increasing access to data regarding the province's lottery players. When online lottery sales return, such data regarding consumers' activity online and their appetite for gaming will be valuable. DJI will continue to use this key advantage to expand its marketing platform, which may then be used to distribute new, revenue generating promotional content.

DJI will utilise its exclusive Chinese lottery partnerships with both Arsenal and Manchester City football clubs, as well as other sporting relationships, to promote and support Heilongjiang's sports lottery with unique tailored content and 'money can't buy' special football club gifts and prizes.

The JV's provision of content will be extended by the anticipated roll out this year of DJI's high-frequency virtual sports betting game, which was trialled in-store during 2015. Further games are at an advanced stage of development, with approval expected in the second half of 2016.

Heilongjiang, located in the north east of China, is the country's sixth largest province by area with a population of approximately 40 million. HSB operates, or is responsible for, all sports lottery activities in the province. In 2014 revenues from these activities were RMB 7.03bn (GBP773m), an increase of more than 60 per cent per on 2013.

In September 2015, DJI announced a cooperation agreement with HSB to establish a joint venture with the primary aim of providing funding and support services to all of HSB's commercial activities, especially football and Winter sports. HSB owns and/or operates an extensive portfolio of sporting venues and facilities across the province, including Yabuli, China's largest ski resort.

The HSB joint venture includes, for the first time in a Chinese province, a Business-to-Business (B2B) online booking system for sports. The JV agreed terms with three of China's largest online portals to sell and promote its B2B system, based on DJI's technology, from 1 November 2015, giving it direct access to their significant customer bases.

The venture is in its early stages but the bookings to date are in line with expectations and the system is now entering its next phase of development towards a more extensive e-commerce roll-out during 2016. Prestigious channel partners, including leading Chinese online video company LeTV and major B2C online retailer JD.com, have been signed and further revenue enhancing deals with high quality strategic partners are being targeted to drive the JV's progress to profitability in the second half of 2016.

The JV company remains committed to seeking a listing on a New York exchange in due course and it is the intention of both partners to continue to devote all necessary resources to growing existing and new business activities ahead of that event.

The Asia Pacific Lottery Association (APLA) and the World Lottery Association (WLA) are pleased to announce that registration for the APLA/WLA Seminar 2016 is now open!

Operational Excellence is an imperative, alongside the lottery industry’s pressure to perform in this highly competitive environment, to be leaner and more efficient to drive better productivity and bottom line for stakeholders.

With the theme of "Operational Excellence – Getting Things Done from Good to Great”, this Seminar is specially put together with a different format this year.

Led by distinguished invited speakers, its workshop format focuses on best practices and in-depth interactive learning and sharing, which will come in useful for both emerging and mature lottery organisations.

Each workshop will be followed up with insightful discussions among lottery industry leaders sharing best practices from their respective organizations.  There is also a panel comprising APLA Sponsors, most of whom are also WLA Contributors, sharing their insights from the supplier’s and partner’s perspectives.  

This Seminar caters to both senior and middle managerial levels, particularly those of us working in or dealing with operations.

It gives us insights into achieving operational excellence and also exposes us to other aspects such as web services (also known as cloud computing) and cybersecurity/cyberfraud which will also impact operations.
