IGT Indiana Donates Their Fourth Computer Lab

The Boys & Girls Club of Evansville Receive the Donation

EVANSVILLE, Indiana (June 8, 2016). - IGT Indiana, the integrated services provider to the Hoosier Lottery, today announced that the company has donated approximately $30,000 worth of technology equipment and opened a new computer lab at the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville. The lab will allow the Boys & Girls Club to serve more than 2,000 children during the school year and summer.

Executives from IGT Indiana joined Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, Boys & Girls Club of Evansville Executive Director Ron Ryan and other staff for the lab’s official opening. 

The Boys & Girls Club computer lab is the fourth such donation under IGT Indiana’s Technology Giving Program, which provides state-of-the-art computers, printers, software, furniture and volunteer hours to non-profit organizations that sponsor educational programs in Indiana.

The first two computer labs benefited Hoosier veterans through the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation and the Donald W. Moreau, Sr. Veterans House and the third benefited youth through the Ft. Wayne Urban League.

IGT Indiana is honored to provide computers and technology as part of our continued commitment to charitable giving within the communities we serve. The Boys & Girls Club of Evansville does a tremendous job serving our youth,” said IGT Indiana chief operating officer and general manager Colin Hadden. “We are excited to help the Boys & Girls Club carry out their mission by serving more than 2,000 children throughout the Evansville area.”

The Boys and Girls Club received 14 Dell desktop computers, along with a variety of professional software, 2 Dell notebook computers, Flashforge and Prntrbot 3-D printers, Raspberry Pi and Arduino circuitry building sets, a Dell server, wireless routers, sound mixing equipment and a music keyboard.  Additionally, IGT Indiana donated three flat panel televisions that it purchased from Selby’s Home Theater of Evansville.

IGT Indiana’s generous donation will greatly enhance the lives of more than 2,000 boys and girls every year by providing them with access to the latest in advanced computer technology,” said Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke. “Your act of kindness demonstrates how much the community cares about the future of our youth, and it will inspire them to study more, set goals and follow their dreams.

The Boys & Girls Club of Evansville began operations in December 1957, and today the Club provides programming and services for the most at-risk boys and girls of our community. The Boys & Girls Club currently has two sites and in addition to the youth directly served at their sites, the Club is reaching hundreds more through their school extension sites at Cedar Hall and Delaware.

Words cannot describe the excitement of Board, Staff, and Kids of the Club.  BGC stress to our kids the importance of education daily.  This lab allows us to show our commitment to the kids, families, and community.  It will be cutting edge as to what we will now be able to do for/with our kids,” said the Boys & Girls Club Executive Director, Ron Ryan.  “Our kids will now have the opportunity to be above the curve Tech wise.  They have no idea of what is in store for them.  Thank you to IGT Indiana for your support of our kids who need us most.”

Arizona Lottery Introduces 35th Anniversary Scratchers®

New Instant Game is Part of a Series of 35th Anniversary Tickets Eligible for Second Chance Drawing

PHOENIX, Arizona (June 9, 2016) – Four new Scratchers® game tickets, celebrating the forthcoming 35th anniversary of the Arizona Lottery, are now available at retailers statewide.

Appropriately called 35th Anniversary Scratchers, the $1, $2, $5 and $10 tickets enable players to win up to $19.1 million in instant prizes and also qualify for second chance cash drawings throughout 2016.

The Arizona Lottery will turn 35 years of age on Friday, July 1.

State Of Texas Wins Big Money!

Texas Lottery Has Already Generated $1 Billion In Revenue This Fiscal Year

AUSTIN, Texas (June 9, 2016) – With three more months still remaining in the fiscal year, the Texas Lottery has already generated $1,019,639,473 in revenue for the state of Texas. This is the 13th consecutive year the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $1 billion in revenue to the state in the lottery’s 24-year history.

This is by far the earliest in the fiscal year that the Texas Lottery has passed the $1 billion revenue mark,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery.

“With phenomenal scratch ticket sales and January’s record-breaking Powerball jackpot, we anticipate that we will easily break last year’s fiscal year-end record of $1.242 billion to Texas.”

In fiscal year 2015, with $4.529 billion in gross sales, the Texas Lottery broke the sales record it set in the previous year, resulting in the single largest annual transfer of revenue to the state including record contributions to the Foundation School Fund and the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance.

The Foundation School Fund, administered by the Texas Education Agency, funds the operational needs and special program services for Texas school districts including teacher salaries, utilities, equipment, bilingual education, special education, gifted and talented education, and career and technical education. To date, Texas Lottery sales have resulted in

more than $19 billion for Texas public schools. The Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance makes grants available to eligible charitable organizations, local government agencies, and Veterans Service Organizations that provide direct services to Texas veterans and their families.

Euro 2016 to be Tournament of Second Screening, Says Kambi

New data from sportsbook specialist shows two-thirds of users will use a second screen to place bets during biggest games

MALTA (June 9, 2016) – Premium sportsbook provider Kambi says the upcoming European Championships in France will be the first major football tournament where second screen betting becomes the primary way to place a wager.

An analysis of data from the sportsbook provider also shows that the higher the profile of an event, the more likely it is that users will place a bet on a mobile device while watching the action.

For the biggest sporting events, around 65% of bets wagered through Kambi’s market-leading sportsbook come from mobile, compared to 45% for smaller events.

The $2 collectible Ghostbusters tickets feature six different scenes inspired by the original 1984 movie.

ARJEL and ESSA Sign Partnership Protocol on the Eve of Euro 2016

FRANCE (June 8, 2016) -- This Monday (June 6), Charles Coppolani, Chairman of ARJEL, the French independent administrative authority in charge of online sports betting regulation in France, and Mike O’Kane, Chairman of ESSA, a non-profit betting and sport integrity monitoring association consisting of the major European sports betting operators, have signed a partnership protocol.

This protocol aims at organizing the exchange of information between both institutions regarding unusual patterns detected through their respective monitoring systems of sports betting.

The upcoming Euro is expected to generate the greatest amount of bets in 2016 (reaching approximately 60 billion euros worldwide).

This innovative approach to fight against match fixing will be maintained over time. First, for the Olympics Games in Rio, and then, for all the sports competitions on which licensed operators are authorized to offer bets in France.

Mike O’Kane, Chairman of ESSA, said: “We are delighted to be working with ARJEL, this agreement represents an important milestone in establishing a network of international information sharing agreements between regulators and responsible regulated betting operators.

One of our key objectives has been to establish cross-sector partnerships as the most effective means of tackling betting related corruption in sport.”

Rockey Appointed Director of Nebraska Lottery and Charitable Gaming Division

LINCOLN, Nebraska (June 6, 2016) – Tax Commissioner Tony Fulton announced today that Brian Rockey, former manager in the Nebraska Department of Revenue Lottery and Charitable Gaming Division, is being appointed Director as of July 1, 2016.

Director Rockey, 55, has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Creighton University, a Master of Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Rockey previously served the Lottery Division in various capacities, including Marketing Manager, from startup in 1993 through 2011. He then worked for International Game Technology (IGT, formerly known as GTECH), the primary contractor for the Nebraska Lottery. He now returns to the Lottery and Charitable Gaming Division as its Director.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve Nebraskans again in this new capacity,” said Rockey. “I want to thank Tax Commissioner Fulton for the trust he has placed in me. I’ll have the opportunity to work with many of the same wonderful people I worked with before, and I look forward to taking the Nebraska Lottery and Charitable Gaming Division into the future.

Tax Commissioner Fulton would like to thank Jill Marshall (Acting Lottery Director) and Aaron Hendry (Acting Charitable Gaming Director) for their service since 2014. “I have appreciated all of their efforts. They have been critical to the continued success of this Division,” said Fulton.

The Nebraska Lottery and Charitable Gaming Divisions of the Department of Revenue were merged under a single administrator in July 2007. The creation of the Lottery and Charitable Gaming Division resulted in greater organizational efficiencies and enhanced service delivery.

The mission of the Nebraska Lottery is to generate proceeds for good causes while providing quality entertainment options to Nebraskans. Over $596 million has been raised for the Nebraska Lottery’s beneficiary funds since the Lottery began in 1993. All 93 counties in Nebraska have benefited from projects funded with these Nebraska Lottery proceeds.

Danske Spil CEO to Step Down in 2017

The process of finding a new CEO has started

DENMARK (May 26, 2016) -- After 12 years in office Hans Christian Madsen will step down on April 1, 2017 as Managing. Director Danske Spil.

Danske Spil will need a new CEO in 2017.  Hans Christian Madsen's departure is done in full cooperation with the Danske Spil Board.

Mr. Madsen has been very important for the development of Danske Spil. He has been involved since the company was called Danish Tipstjeneste and gaming market in Denmark so much different than today.

Hans Christian will turn 66 years in 2017 and has been President and CEO of Danske Spil since 2005. Danske Spil has gone through a transformation from state-owned monopoly to a competitive company, while Hans Christian Madsen has been the director.

Nobody expected that Danske Spil would fare liberalization as well and still be the biggest gaming provider in Denmark. But it is the Danske Spil with HC Madsen headed succeed really well with, and he leaves behind a well-run company with a solid profit, says Peter Gæmelke, Chairman of Danske Spil.

There are still many important tasks to tackle for a coming new director.

One Of the most important tasks for a new director will be to realize the Danish Ventspils 2020 strategy. The strategy has a strong focus on the digitization of the entire company, but also to ensure customers the best customer experience in the Danish game and make sure we are at the forefront when it comes to providing responsible gambling,” says Peter Gæmelke.

For the outgoing director has been the mix of challenges and the good cause, who once lured him to Danske Spil.

Completely Was basically one of the things that excited me most on the job, the company finances and props up so many good causes. It still means a lot to me to this day. At the same time, already in 2005 the talk of liberalization of the gaming market, and the challenge I felt like "merchant", I would be the one to solve,” says HC Madsen.

Although his time in Danske Spil is running out, he expects not to stop completely working.

I am quite ready to quit full-time work as President. Director, but I still hope I can get permission to use my skills, perhaps in the form of any board member, says Madsen.

The process of finding a new CEO has started, and the chairman expects to announce a new CEO in early 2017.

Maryland Casinos Set New Revenue Record of $104.4 Million in May

BALTIMORE, Maryland (June 6, 2016) – Maryland Lottery and Gaming today announced that monthly combined revenues for the state’s casinos reached a new high of $104,351,219 in May 2016.

The total surpassed the previous best month, April 2016, which saw casinos generate $103.9 million.

Maryland’s first casino opened in September 2010, and there are now five casinos operating in the state: Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City, Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County, Maryland Live Casino in Anne Arundel County, and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.

"Maryland's casino business is on a roll,” said Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director Gordon Medenica.  “Two consecutive record months is a noteworthy achievement and I congratulate all of our casino partners. Well done!"

Casino contributions to the state go to the Maryland Education Trust Fund and also support small-, minority- and women-owned businesses, local impact grants and the state’s horse racing industry.

Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $6,898,407 from both slot machines and table games in May.  Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $225.14 for slot machines, $2,332.05 for banking table games and $311.11 for non-banking table games. 

Hollywood Casino’s May 2016 revenue decreased by $222,204, or 3.1%, from May 2015.  Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 850 slot machines and 22 (12 banking and 10 non-banking) table games. 

Horseshoe Casino Baltimore generated $28,793,484 from both slot machines and table games in May. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $229.67 for slot machines, $2,588.38 for banking table games and $1,067.07 for non-banking table games.

Horseshoe Casino’s May 2016 revenue increased by $6,869,863, or 31.3%, from May 2015. Horseshoe Casino Baltimore operates 2,202 slot machines and 178 (153 banking and 25 non-banking) table games. 

Maryland Live Casino generated $59,086,463 from both slot machines and table games in May.  Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $298.71 for slot machines, $4,338.46 for banking table games and $1,253.05 for non-banking table games.

Maryland Live’s May 2016 revenue increased by $1,044,375, or 1.8%, from May 2015. Maryland Live Casino operates 3,923 slot machines and 206 (154 banking and 52 non-banking) table games.

Casino at Ocean Downs generated $5,150,693 from slot machines in May, and its gross gaming revenue per unit per day was $207.48.

Casino at Ocean Downs’ May 2016 revenue increased by $159,116, or 3.2%, from May 2015.  The Casino at Ocean Downs operates 800 slot machines, and does not have table games.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort generated $4,422,173 from both slot machines and table games in May.  Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $192.92 for slot machines and $1,121.37 for banking table games. This facility does not have non-banking table games.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort’s May 2016 revenue increased by $173,776, or 4.1%, from May 2015. Rocky Gap Casino Resort operates 634 slot machines and 18 table games.

Safran Supplies Terminals for the Catalonia Lottery in Spain

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission Officially Launches First-of-its-Kind Responsible Gaming Initiative at Plainridge Park Casino

MASSACHUSETTS (June 8, 2016) -- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) is pleased to announce tomorrow's official launch of "PlayMyWay", a new responsible gaming initiative that provides casino patrons with a voluntary option to budget and track their play.

Available June 9th at Plainridge Park Casino, the PlayMyWay program is an innovative budgeting tool designed to allow customers the ability to monitor the amount of money they spend on electronic gaming machines, and to support their decision to continue or stop play.

PlayMyWay is an optional electronic system by which slot machine players will have an opportunity to personalize their play by setting a budget before they begin gambling.

A first-of-its-kind initiative in the United States, this pilot program is part of a comprehensive approach to responsible gaming strategies implemented by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, with a particular focus on problem gambling prevention and customer protection practices.

PlayMyWay is intended to help players make decisions about gambling, allow them to monitor and understand their playing behavior in real time, and support their decisions. 

The PlayMyWay program is the latest tool added to MGC's wide-ranging and unique responsible gaming framework known as GameSense. 

"The PlayMyWay initiative provides MGC and Plainridge Park Casino with an important opportunity to advance responsible gaming by implementing technology that supports informed player choice. Find Exhibitors at the Gaming Expo with the AGE 2016 App

SYDNEY, NSW, Australia (April 26, 2016) -- Last year, AGE visitors were able to download an App for their mobile phone. This year at the AGE we have updated the App with new features which will help visitors to find exhibitors at the show and also keep the visitors abreast of news and activities while they are at the show.

As with last year, visitors who have installed the AGE App on any of their mobile devices will receive a welcome message as they pass through the entry gate.

Once they’re inside the exhibition and pass various points they will get updates to remind them about such things as the time of the Daily Vegas Draw, entertainment and other activities.

In addition to this, visitors can use the App to locate any exhibitor at the show. They can search the alphabetical exhibitor database that’s included in the App and then simply click on the stand number for an exhibitor’s location on the interactive show map.

In order to get these features, visitors must install the latest version of the AGE 2016 App. 

Further details about the app are available at the AGE web site or it can be downloaded by simply visiting the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Featuring more than 200 exhibitors across 17,000 square metres of exhibition space, the Australasian Gaming Expo is easily the biggest event of its type in Australia and one of the world's biggest. Last year’s Gaming Expo saw a number of changes resulting from the move to the temporary location at Glebe Island, all of which have been favourably received.
