LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (June 13, 2016)
-- After significant thought and reflection, I have decided it is time
for me to retire, said Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Arch
Gleason in a letter to the Lotterys board of directors. I have
spent nearly 23 years as President and CEO of the Kentucky Lottery and take
great pride in what we have accomplished.
During Gleason's tenure as Kentucky
Lottery President & CEO, he served as president of the Multi-State Lottery
Association (MUSL) and Chair of the Powerball Game Group, president of the
North American State & Provincial Lottery Association (NASPL) and served
five years as president of the World Lottery Association (WLA), the first
American to do so.
Prior to joining the KY Lottery
Corporation in September 1993, Gleason served two separate terms as director of
the West Virginia Lottery. He is also a former secretary of the West Virginia
Department of Transportation.

Lotterys Executive Director Named MUSL President

The Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) has elected Gary Grief as president
of the organization. Grief is the executive director of the Texas Lottery.
"I want to congratulate Gary
Grief on being elected president of MUSL," said J. Winston Krause, chairman

successful track record in leading the Texas Lottery will serve him well in

Formed in 1987, the Multi-State
Lottery Association is a non-profit, government-benefit association owned and
operated by its member lotteries. Each MUSL member lottery offers one or more
of the games administered by MUSL, including Powerball. All profits are
retained by the individual lotteries and are used to fund projects approved by
the legislatures authorizing each lottery. Since the first Powerball drawing
was held in 1992, it has become the number one lottery game in the United
Grief was appointed executive
director of the Texas Lottery Commission in March 2010. Under Griefs
leadership, the Texas Lottery has experienced record sales and revenue,
contributing more than $19 billion to the states Foundation School Fund,
which supports public education in Texas.
Grief has been an integral part of
the success of the Texas Lottery Commission since its inception. He was
appointed in 1991, by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, to the original
eight-member Lottery Task Force assigned to research and launch the Texas
Lottery. In 2002, Grief was appointed by the Commission to serve the first of
what would be three separate terms as acting executive director. Between and
after these appointments, Grief served as deputy executive director until his
official appointment as executive director in 2010.
Grief is the immediate past chair of
the Powerball game, past Lead Director for the Mega Millions multi-state game
consortium and past president of the North American Association of State and
Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).
In 2012, he was honored with the
PGRI Major Peter J. OConnell Lottery Industry Lifetime Achievement Award
and in 2014 he was inducted to Public Gaming Research Institutes Lottery
Industry Hall of Fame.
A native Texan, Grief is a graduate
of the University of Texas at the Permian Basin where he earned a
bachelors degree in business administration.

National Lottery and ITV Announce I Am Team GB Partnership for Rio
UNITED KINGDOM (June 16, 2016)
-- The National Lottery and ITV today announced an ambitious joint
partnership inviting the nation to get up, be active and become part of Team GB
with a campaign culminating in the UKs biggest ever sports day on
Saturday 27 August and ITV will be switching off its channels for an
hour on the day to inspire people to get involved.
The I Am Team GB campaign will
celebrate the role the nation plays in Team GBs success through the
support they give elite athletes by playing The National Lottery. Over
£80 million has been raised each year by National Lottery players to help
fund elite athletes during the four-year build-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic
The event is taking place in
conjunction with the British Olympic Association (BOA), UK Sport and is
supported by Join In. It will give people the opportunity to come together with
Olympic heroes and famous faces from ITV to take part in the biggest ever
UK-wide sports day.
Thousands of clubs across the UK
will open their doors to inspire people to get out and become involved in a
wide range of sports, free of charge.
In the lead up to the huge event, an
on-air advertising campaign, created by ITV AdVentures, devised by ITV Creative
and produced by ITN Productions, will air exclusively on the ITV network,
bringing to life the stories of what National Lottery players have made
ITV will be using the power of its
network to join forces with The National Lottery for the event, which will urge
people to show their support for Team GBs Olympians as they return from
Rio by getting up and active to take part in grassroots sport across thousands
of events and activities.
At 9.30am on 27 August, ITV will
switch off its seven channels for an hour to encourage the great British public
to get up and out and involved in sport at one of the many events happening
across the country. ITV will also promote the event on-air during its UEFA Euro
2016 coverage of the England match on Monday 20 June.
Following the event, The National
Lottery will then turn its focus to the publics support for Paralympic
sport as it heroes the role of National Lottery players in supporting
Paralympics GB athletes through a campaign to be delivered in partnership with
the British Paralympic Association.

Lottery Recognized For Industry Best Practices in Its Gaming-System
Verification Comes From NASPL, The Open Group

The Iowa Lottery has received a best-practices designation within the lottery
industry for the testing procedures it utilizes in its statewide gaming

quality-assurance verification in late May from the North American Association
of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) and its third-party assessor, The
Open Group, an international consortium that is a leader in I.T. standards and
NASPL, which represents 52 lotteries
in the United States, Canada and Mexico, has developed best practices intended
to provide lotteries and vendors with a simple, documented method for building
quality into their procedures.
The Iowa Lottery gained its quality
assurance verification from NASPL after having the organization review the
testing procedures it utilized in updating its statewide gaming system to
accommodate the Oct. 4 matrix change in the Powerball® game and Iowas
introduction of the Lucky for Life game on Jan. 24. T

integral to the organizations operation, as the system is used in the
sale of lottery tickets and payment of prizes at retail locations across the
The NASPL verification
process is helping us increase efficiency and add to our integrity,
Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich said. Were proud that our procedures
have been recognized nationally.
Before making any changes to its
gaming system, the lottery documents the tests it plans to conduct to ensure a
change successfully can be made, then carries out the testing and documents and
reviews the results.
The change is implemented on the
system only after the lottery is satisfied with its testing results. The
process is designed to ensure that changes can be made as seamlessly as
NASPL Executive Director David Gale
complimented the lottery for receiving its verification.
The Iowa Lottery staff
members have shown dedication in achieving this milestone, Gale
said. I want to congratulate them for their commitment to
NASPLs review of the Iowa
Lotterys procedures was a five-month process. The verification
designation for the Iowa Lottery is good for three years, at which time the
lottery could apply for another review.

Loto-Québec Report Excellent Results for Fiscal Year

Revenues and Net Income
on the Rise
MONTRÉAL, Quebec (June 10,
2016) Finance Minister Carlos Leitão submitted Loto‑Québecs
annual report to the National Assembly this morning. The Corporation reports
increased income in all its sectors. During a year marked by a sharp increase
in lottery revenues, Loto‑Québecs total
revenues increased by 6.7% and net income rose by 10%.
Total revenues reached $3.560 billion (+6.7%).
Net income totalled $1.227 billion (+10%).
The profit margin climbed 1.1 percentage points to reach 34.5%.
Management favouring greater
The Corporation produced gains in efficiency of $95.5 million, exceeding the
Expenses totalled $963.7 million, representing an increase of only 0.9%
compared to the previous fiscal year, despite inflation and higher
circumstances certainly helped, the renewal strategy we implemented over the
past two years and efficient management across all our sectors were the main

Casino popularity on the
Casino revenues rose by 3.8%, totalling $806.2 million.
The increased focus on
entertainment, particularly with the organization of large‑scale themed events, was
extremely productive, as patronage increased by 5.9%.
Online gambling still very
Espacejeux.com, Loto‑Québecs online
gaming site, recorded revenues of $66.2 million (+35.2%).
All types of products offered
(casino games, lotteries, etc.) are gaining ground, and gaming on mobile
devices is attracting more players. That said, Espacejeux.coms market
share, as compared to all illegal online gaming sites, still represents only
about 25%. It will therefore be important to continue efforts to channel
offerings towards an honest and controlled framework, thus ensuring that
profits benefit Quebecers. The measures to block illegal sites recently adopted
by the National Assembly are designed to that purpose.
Gaming establishments that
continue to please
The gaming establishment sector, which includes video lottery terminals in bars
and brasseries, the two gaming halls, and bingo and Kinzo halls, recorded
$980.3 million in revenues, an increase of 2.9% compared to 2014‑2015.
Thanks to the introduction of new
games and network optimization, revenues from video lottery terminals in the
bar and brasseries network are up for the first time since the anti‑tobacco law was
adopted in 2006. The Salon de jeux de Québec remained as popular as
before, and pull‑tab tickets with progressive
jackpots offered in network bingo halls still spur excitement.

Lottery Annual Profits Surpass All Previous Records
JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri (June 10,
2016) -- Missouri Lottery profits during the past fiscal year surpassed all
previous records, coming in at more than $308.9 million with todays final
monthly proceeds transfer of $21.8 million to education. This fiscal
years total is $308,993,403 or 7 percent higher than the previous record
set in FY13, when proceeds topped $288.8 million. It is $38 million or 14.1
percent higher than last years proceeds, which totaled $270.7
We had a stellar
year, said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri
Lottery Commission. In addition to experiencing the worlds
largest jackpot, we also launched our first $30 Scratchers game and made
improvements and efficiencies.
In January 2016, the Lottery offered
a Powerball jackpot that reached a record $1.5 billion.
That 10-week jackpot run
generated more than $23.5 million for public education from Powerball sales
alone, Reardon noted. Not only do big jackpots bring in more
sales for those games, but they also tend to increase the play of all the other
Lottery games, along with bringing back lapsed players and attracting new
players that tend to keep playing.
Though Powerball is the
Lotterys most profitable game, Reardon said Pick 3 and Pick 4 also had
record sales this past fiscal year.
Lottery sales staff has also worked
on increasing the average number of facings (the number of tickets
displayed in retail locations) from 28 to 29.2 and getting more retailers to
place new Scratchers in machines and dispensers as soon as they arrive. The
compliance rate for that program is now nearly 60 percent.
Players love new
games, said Reardon. In addition to incenting retailers to
get new tickets out quickly, we went to a same-day push, which we call MO Money
Mondays. We now release new Scratchers games on the last Monday of every month,
so players will know when to look for them.
Reardon said Lottery retailers,
vendors and employees worked hard this year to streamline operations and
We are so pleased to be
able to provide an additional $38 million for public education this fiscal
year, Reardon said. We definitely have our work cut out for
us next year to meet or beat this annual profit record.
One hundred percent of the proceeds
from Missouri Lottery ticket sales go to public education. In fiscal year 2016,
these proceeds were appropriated for a variety of programs including: the
Foundation Program, the A+ Scholarships Program, Special Education Excess
Costs, the Classroom Trust Fund and 10-11 percent of the states funding
for several public higher education institutions operating costs. For a

Each year, the proceeds are
allocated by the governor and the states legislature during the annual
appropriation process. These funds represent approximately 4 percent of the

Lottery Sales and Profits Continue Ahead of Last Year
LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (June 10, 2016)
-- Kentucky Lottery sales are expected to finish FY16 at a level that breaks
last years all-time record. This news was shared today at a meeting of
the Corporations board of directors.
Sales for the FY through the end of
May were $918.6 million, which is $94 million (11.5%) more than last year and
$28.6 million (3.2%) ahead of budget. Leading the way were outstanding sales of
the Lotterys scratch-off tickets, which finished the period with $551
million in sales. This is $38.4 million (7.5%) more than last year and $945,000
more than budget. The largest percentage increase was in the Keno game, with a
40.4% jump in sales from the prior FY ($60.6 million versus $43.2 million).
Year-to-date income before transfer
of dividends was $232.8 million, which is $17.5 million more than last year and
$12 million more than budgeted.
Overall sales for the FY16 were
budgeted to be $972 million, while income before transfer of dividends was
budgeted at $241 million.

2016) - -Arkansas Scholarship Lottery officials reported record proceeds and
sales figures in Mays monthly accounting report,sent to the Arkansas

noted the May numbers put the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery on track to exceed

Control Authority under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania

information sharing agreement to guard against betting related corruption. The
cooperation arrangement will see the exchange of information concerning any
suspicious betting identified on ESSA members regulated markets that
falls within the Lithuanian regulators operational remit.
The move further increases

Exhibitors at the Gaming Expo with the AGE 2016 App
SYDNEY, NSW, Australia (April 26,
2016) -- Last year, AGE
visitors were able to download an App for their mobile phone. This year at the
AGE we have updated the App with new features which will help visitors to find
exhibitors at the show and also keep the visitors abreast of news and
activities while they are at the show.
As with last year, visitors who have
installed the AGE App on any of their mobile devices will receive a welcome
message as they pass through the entry gate.
Once theyre inside the
exhibition and pass various points they will get updates to remind them about
such things as the time of the Daily Vegas Draw, entertainment and other
In addition to this, visitors can
use the App to locate any exhibitor at the show. They can search the
alphabetical exhibitor database thats included in the App and then simply
click on the stand number for an exhibitors location on the interactive
