IGT Signs Six-Year Contract Extension with the Texas Lottery to Continue Providing Lottery Operations and Services Through August 2026


LONDON, U.K. (Oct. 17, 2016) – International Game Technology PLC (NYSE:IGT) announced that its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, with an assumed name in the State of Texas of IGT Solutions Corporation (with International Game Technology PLC, hereinafter “IGT”), has signed a six-year contract extension with the Texas Lottery Commission (“Texas Lottery”) to continue providing lottery operations and services through Aug. 31, 2026. The Texas Lottery has been a valued IGT customer since the Texas Lottery’s startup in 1992.

Virginia Lottery Celebrates Another Year of Record-Breaking Instant Ticket Sales

Lotto NZ Returns $204 Million to the Community

NEW ZEALAND (October 17, 2016) -- Lotto NZ is pleased to report solid financial returns for the 2015/16 financial year and a transfer of $204 million back into community initiatives throughout New Zealand.

More people are choosing to buy their Lotto tickets online, with MyLotto sales increasing almost 30% on the previous year, and over one million tickets are scanned each month using Lotto NZ’s smartphone ticket-checker App.

Texas Lottery Saves State $65 Million With Lottery Operator Contract Extensions

Current contract with IGT extended to 2026


AUSTIN, Texas (October 14, 2015) -- The Texas Lottery Commission’s five member board unanimously approved three 2-year extensions to its existing nine-year contract with lottery operator, International Game Technology (IGT). The new contract renewal terms are expected to save the state $65 million over the extension period and increase revenue to the Foundation School Fund. The six-year extension period will begin Sept. 1, 2020 and continue through Aug. 31, 2026.

This is good government and a testament to the Lottery’s strong contract monitoring and compliance work,” said J. Winston Krause, chairman of the Texas Lottery Commission.

The Texas Lottery experienced extraordinary growth in fiscal year 2016, achieving a record $5.067 billion in sales which resulted in $1.373 billion to the Foundation School Fund and $14.7 million to the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance, the largest contributions to both lottery beneficiaries. It was the 13th consecutive year the Texas Lottery provided more than $1 billion in revenue for Texas. In addition to record-breaking sales, the Texas Lottery’s careful spending kept administrative costs to just 4.4 percent of FY 16 sales, one of the lowest administrative expenditure rates in the country and the lowest in Texas Lottery history.

IGT will continue to be compensated under the current rate of 2.2099 percent of lottery sales through the end of the initial contract period ending on Aug. 31, 2020. The compensation rate will decrease with each contract extension.

  • Sept. 1, 2020 – Aug. 31, 2022 2.0773 percent
  • Sept. 1, 2022 – Aug. 31, 2024 2.0331 percent

IGT has provided lottery operator services to the Texas Lottery since the Lottery’s inception in 1992. The Texas Lottery’s current contract with IGT was executed in 2010 and has resulted in annual savings of more than $20 million. The contract was the culmination of a three-year process in which competitive bids were submitted from three of the world’s major lottery operator service providers.

Georgia Lottery Raises Record First Quarter Dollars for HOPE Scholarship, Pre-K Programs


ATLANTA, Georgia (October 18, 2016) -- The Georgia Lottery Corp. today announced record profits for education for the first quarter of fiscal year 2017. Profits transferred to the State Treasury’s Lottery for Education Account will amount to $273.6 million, surpassing last year’s record first quarter transfer by $19.7 million.

The Georgia Lottery’s first quarter profits bring the total raised for educational programs in the state of Georgia to more than $17.8 billion since the lottery’s inception in 1993.

The Georgia Lottery’s record first quarter follows a record fiscal year. In fiscal year 2016, the Georgia Lottery reached the milestone of $1 billion raised for education for the first time in a single fiscal year.

The first quarter of the Georgia Lottery’s fiscal year spanned from July 1, 2016, to Sept. 30, 2016. Fiscal year 2017 first quarter profits also include funds generated from coin operated amusement machines (COAMs) in Georgia.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $17.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.

More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.4 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.

Swedish Lottery Operator Svenska Spel Selects Safran Identity & Security’s ELITE for the Renewal of its Lottery Terminals


PARIS, France (October 19, 2016) -- The Swedish lottery operator Svenska Spel has extended its partnership with Safran Identity & Security through the acquisition of 3,000 lottery terminals including middleware application, a download server and associated services.

Under the contract, Safran Identity & Security will deliver its latest ELITE lottery terminal, using cutting-edge imaging technology (camera) which offers high efficiency, reliability and user-friendliness for retailers. The ELITE terminal includes enhanced services such as the authentication of ID documents and retailers through the fingerprint recognition.

The middleware supplied with these terminals as well as the download server will be developed in partnership with Lotsys, a subsidiary of the French lottery operator, la Française des Jeux.

Maltco Lotteries Release Their Corporate Social Responsibility Publication


MALTA (October 18, 2016) -- Maltco Lotteries, Malta's national lottery brand, has just published its Corporate Social Responsibility Release (CSR Publication June '15 to June '16), which covers four key pillars: Responsible Gaming; Retail; Sports; and, Charity. With this year's theme 'Society Positive', the publication highlights Maltco's commitment to the local community. Illinois Lottery Unveils New ‘Carolyn Adams Ticket For The Cure’ Instant Game

Proceeds Support Breast Cancer Research and Education

CHICAGO, Illinois (October 12, 2016) — The Illinois Lottery today introduced the 13th edition of its breast cancer awareness instant lottery game, Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure, at Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, a recent grant recipient of Ticket for the Cure funding. Illinois was the first lottery to launch a game to support the fight against breast cancer.

Since 2006, Ticket for the Cure has raised more than $11.5 million to support breast cancer research, awareness and education in Illinois. Net proceeds from the sale of the ticket are distributed by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), which provides grants that fund medical research centers and community organizations across the state.

Millions of dollars have been raised to help support women diagnosed with breast cancer in Illinois through this Illinois Lottery specialty ticket,” Illinois Lottery Acting Director Tim McDevitt said. “The Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure is an exciting opportunity for players to win great prizes while also helping fight breast cancer.”


While breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Illinois and the second leading cause of cancer death, early detection can significantly improve the rates of survival from this disease,” said IDPH Director Nirav D. Shah, M.D., J.D. “If we do promote early screening and healthy lifestyles, while supporting research that will further prevent the spread of this illness, we can drastically increase the survival rate. We are fortunate to partner annually with the Illinois Lottery on this ticket, which helps fund valuable research and screening activities in Illinois.”

This specialty game was renamed Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure in 2011. It is named for former Illinois Lottery Superintendent (2003-2007) Carolyn Adams, who fought her battle with breast cancer until 2007.

Tickets are available at nearly 8,000 Lottery retail locations statewide. Each ticket costs $3 and has three top prizes of $50,000.

GUMPOLDSKIRCHEN, Austria (October 18, 2016) – The official inauguration of the expanded casino premises at the Macedonian Casino FlaminGO was celebrated on Friday, October 7, with a grand festivity and 3,000 guests as well as NOVOMATIC brand ambassador Niki Lauda as a special VIP guest.

Following the takeover by the NOVOMATIC Group and an investment in extensive refurbishment measures amounting to some EUR 40 million, Casino FlaminGO reopened at the beginning of 2014.


The latest expansion of the casino premises, which has now concluded, amounted to a further EUR 14 million.

The Casino FlaminGO complex to date comprises a hotel with 60 rooms and Spa & Wellness areas, as well as two restaurants, three bars, a café and a nightclub. The casino floor offers 26 live gaming tables with a comprehensive offering, and the number of slots has now been expanded from the original 470 gaming machines to 920 terminals – and will further increase to 1,001 units by the end of the year.

At this point, Casino FlaminGO will become South East Europe’s largest casino, offering jobs for 570 staff and welcoming more than 500,000 guests per year.

Save the Dates for Australasian Gaming Expo 2017


SYDNEY, Australia (October 10, 2016) -- Tuesday 15th to Thursday 17th August are the dates for the 2017 Australasian Gaming Expo to be held at the new International Convention Centre Sydney, located at Darling Harbour.

Featuring more than 250 exhibitors across 19,000 square metres of exhibition space, the Australasian Gaming Expo is easily the biggest event of its type in Australia and one of the world's biggest.

All indications are that the exhibition will again be full to capacity with a wide range of companies showcasing the world’s best gaming and related equipment and services.

It follows on from AGE 2016 Gaming Expo when we saw 6,813 visitors attending over the three days establishing a new record for attendance, since the show first started 27 years ago.

We're excited about the event's future at ICC Sydney at Darling Harbour.  Almost 100 exhibitors covering two-thirds of the exhibition floor have already committed to exhibit at the AGE 2017.

The new event website is already operational at and plans are extremely advanced for an even bigger and better event.
