PA Lottery Launch New Fast Play Games

Middletown, PA (February 28, 2017) -- The Pennsylvania Lottery today launched Fast Play, a new type of games offering players the chance to win prizes without scratching the ticket or waiting for a drawing.

Fast Play launch is a milestone in the evolution of the Pennsylvania Lottery,” said Executive Director Drew Svitko, noting that this is the Lottery’s first entirely new game category introduced since scratch-off tickets premiered in 1975. The first draw game went on sale in March of 1972.

Fast Play games print on-demand from a Lottery sales terminal or self-service touch-screen vending terminal. Retailers may not print Fast Play games in advance; tickets must be generated at the time of purchase.

To see if they’ve won a prize, players can review the ticket, or scan it at a Lottery retailer or with the ticket checker feature on the Lottery’s official mobile app.

This new type of game has been popular in other states and we expect Pennsylvania Lottery players will enjoy it, as well,” Svitko added.

The Fast Play games launched today are Piggy Bank Bucks ($1); Lots of $50s ($2); Hot Numbers® ($5); and Keystone Cash ($5).  Keystone Cash offers a progressive top prize that grows until it is won, then immediately resets to the minimum top prize and starts growing again.

Visit to review rules, chances of winning and learn how to play Fast Play games.

Fast Play winners have up to one year from the ticket’s date of purchase to claim prizes.

About Us: The Pennsylvania Lottery remains the only state lottery to direct all proceeds to programs that benefit older residents. Since ticket sales began in 1972, it has contributed nearly $27 billion to fund property tax and rent rebates, transportation, care services, prescription assistance, and local services including senior centers and meals.

Players must be 18 or older. Do not give lottery games to children. Please play responsibly. Call 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537) for help with a compulsive gambling problem.

Figures also explore consumer interest and awareness around terms and conditions, self-exclusion and other gambling management tools.

James Green, programme director said: “This report paints an important picture of how consumers in Britain choose to gamble – identifying emerging trends and potential risks to the public. We are also now able to provide a more detailed snapshot of online behaviours, which featured for the first time last year.

Effective protections come from strong evidence. Our research puts us in a powerful position to better understand the needs of gambling consumers.”

Headline findings include:

  • 48% of respondents have gambled in the past four weeks (a 3% increase on 2015), this figure drops to 33% when you exclude those that have only played the National Lottery
  • of those surveyed, 53% of men (50% in 2015) and 44% of women (41% in 2015) have gambled

Broadbeach Set for Life Winner Left Breathless After “Best Call of My Life”

  • A Broadbeach woman has been left breathless after receiving the “best call of my life” from Golden Casket this morning, confirming that she is the latest Set for Life 1st Prize winner!
  • The overjoyed woman will now receive $20,000 every month for the next 20 years and said she can now help send her grandchildren to private schools.
  • The Broadbeach woman is the 20th Set for Life 1st Prize winner nationally since the game began in August 2015 and continues the Gold Coast’s recent winning streak and lotto hotspot status.
  • The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased a 2-SET QuickSET from Resort News, Shop 1621 at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Hooker Boulevard, Broadbeach.

BRISBANE, Queensland, Australia (February 27, 2017) -- A Broadbeach woman has been left breathless after receiving the “best call of my life” from Golden Casket this morning, confirming that she is the latest Set for Life 1st Prize winner who will receive $20,000 a month for the next 20 years!

The woman is the 20th Set for Life winner nationally since the game began 19 months ago, and the second Set for Life winner in one week.

The win also confirms the Gold Coast’s reputation as a hotspot for lotto winners.

The Broadbeach woman checked her Set for Life ticket first thing on Friday morning, but didn’t believe it was real until Golden Casket officials spoke to her.

She was so overwhelmed by the win that she was left short of breath.

Oh my God! Oh my God!  Sorry, I’m just a bit excited,” the exasperated woman said.

I’ve checked my ticket, but I didn’t believe it was real! I was waiting for the call!  I thought ‘This can’t be real, it cannot be real!  It must be a mistake; maybe I’m checking the wrong ticket?

Thank you so much.  This is awesome.  My family is going to just love it!  Thank you so much.

With the win still sinking in, the regular lotto player said she would use her monthly windfall to pay off her mortgage, help out her children and elderly parents, and maybe even retire early.

This is the best call I’ve ever had!  It will help us all out – the whole family – each month,” she said excitedly.

It’s beautiful that it’s monthly – not just one big whoop of money!

I’m about to become a grandmother again!  They can have private schooling now!

But first, the woman said she would break to news to her husband, who had left for work earlier that morning doubting her claim that she had won.

He didn’t get it and said ‘I’ve got to go to work’,” she said.

He’s going to flip out. He’s not going to believe it either!

The newest Set for Life 1st Prize winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 2-SET QuickSET entry from Resort News, Shop 1621 Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, 2-30 Hooker Boulevard, Broadbeach.

Resort News owner Anthony Milligan was thrilled to have sold Queensland’s second and the nation’s twentieth Set for Life 1st prize winning ticket.

This is great news! We’re so thrilled to have been part of selling a 1st Prize winning entry to the newest game!” he exclaimed.

The team is really excited and we’re already celebrating – particularly because it’s a Gold Coast local.

Congratulations to the winner and all the best with your journey over the next 20 years!

This is the second Set for Life 1st Prize won in Queensland since Set for Life launched in August 2015.  Last night’s winner joins 19 other national winners who are already enjoying their monthly Set for Life instalments.

It follows a retired married couple from Mackay who became Set for Life in November 2016. The winning wife vowed never to do her most hated household chores again and hire an ironing lady.

Just a few nights ago on Tuesday, another Set for Life player won the 1st Prize with a ticket purchased in Kogarah in New South Wales.

Across the country, it was the only entry that won 1st Prize in Set for Life draw 567 which offers a guaranteed 1st Prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years for up to four winners in each draw.

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 567 on Thursday 24 February 2017 were 9, 33, 7, 27, 26, 23, 25 and 17, with the bonus numbers 14 and 32.

A Set for Life draw is conducted every night of the week, 365 days each year, and players can start their seven-day Set for Life entry on any day of the week.

To win the 1st Prize in Set for Life, players must correctly choose the 8 winning numbers drawn from 37. Additional smaller divisional prizes can be won from 2nd Prize to 8th Prize by selecting a combination of the 8 winning numbers and 2 bonus numbers drawn.

Tickets for Set for Life are on sale in lottery outlets around the country and online at with the next draw occurring tonight.

Loto-Québec Report Third Quarter Results FY 2016-2017

MONTRÉAL, Quebec, Canada (February 24, 2017) -- Loto Québec reported cumulative revenues of $2.612 billion and net income of $933.2 million for the third quarter, or slight declines of $39.6 million (-1.5%) and $12.7 million (-1.3%) respectively.

The step backwards is mainly due to the two fewer days in the period and a smaller number of major jackpots offered by pan Canadian lotteries.

Thanks to efficient management, the Corporation nevertheless reduced total expenses by $11.3 million (-1.6%) over the past three quarters as compared to the same period last year. The efforts deployed since the beginning of the fiscal year to expand offerings and control expenses lead us to be optimistic as we look to the end of the financial year.

  • Cumulative revenues are on the rise, reaching $618.9 million (+2.8%) with net income of $161.5 million (+4.0%).
  • The increase in revenues is mainly due to the widening range of entertainment offerings in establishments, more customers playing at gaming tables and the vigorous tourism trade.
  • Casinos reported 226,000 more visits (+3.4%) compared to the same period in 2015-2016.

  • Lottery revenues total $1.272 billion (-4.6%), while net income reached $328.5 million (-8.2%).
  • The decline in revenue is mainly attributable to the smaller number of major Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 jackpot prizes.
  • Lotto Max offered 16 jackpots worth $50 million or more and 174 Maxmillions during the period, compared to 22 jackpots worth $50 million or more and 405 Maxmillions on the same date last year.
  • Event betting generated $8.0 million more in sales (+17.6%), due to the better odds offered online.

Gaming establishments

  • The gaming establishment sector includes video lottery terminals in bars and brasseries, gaming halls, network bingo and Kinzo.
  • Sector revenues, which are slightly higher than those last year, reached $738.8 million (+0.7%). Net income amounts to $443.1 million (+2.4%).

Fortuna Entertainment Group Will Become New Market Leader in Romania, Expands Into Croatia and Spain

PRAGUE, Czech Republic (February 23, 2017) -- Fortuna Entertainment Group N.V. (“Fortuna”) as purchaser and Hattrick Sports Group LLC (U.S) and other shareholders as sellers (the "Sellers") have entered into an agreement under which Fortuna shall acquire 100% share in Hattrick Sports Group Ltd., Ireland ("Hattrick Sports Group"). The transaction is a subject of regulatory approvals and until then both companies continue to operate separately as until now.

The acquisition of Hattrick Sports Group will further strengthen Fortuna’s position as the largest licenced multi-channel sports betting and gaming operator in Central and Southeastern Europe. The Fortuna Entertainment Group was established in 2009. Originally a Czech firm with over 25 years history, it has grown over time into a holding company with strong operations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. Through brand licenced agreement it is also present in Romania. Hattrick Sports Group is the owner of the leading betting operator in Romania, Casa Pariurilor, the second largest operator in Croatia, PSK, and a joint venture partner in Luckia operator in Spain.

“The acquisition of Hattrick Sports Group is a key milestone in Fortuna Entertainment Group’s plans of becoming ‘The No.1 licensed multichannel betting and gaming operator in Central and Eastern Europe’ as well as a testament for our value creation strategy. Our intention is to retain the Fortuna and Casa Pariurilor brands in Romania as well as PSK and Hattrick in Croatia. On a regional level, we will combine the best of both companies with the aim to create more exciting offers for our customers, better opportunities for our employees and business partners, thus increasing value for our shareholders,”said Per Widerström, CEO of Fortuna Entertainment Group.

The combination of Fortuna and Hattrick Sports Group has a compelling logic and aligns strategically very well. The transaction will add significant geographical reach and market diversity to Fortuna and will allow the group to further strengthen its position in the core markets and beyond," adds Carsten Sundberg, CEO of Hattrick Sports Group.

The current business expansion is in line with Fortuna’s long-term strategy to become the number one licenced sports betting and gaming operator in Central and Southeastern Europe and industry leader in innovations, multi-channel offers, customer experience and financial performance.
