Novomatic Sports Betting Subsidiary ADMIRAL Opens Europe’s Largest Sports Bar

GUMPOLDSKIRCHEN / VIENNA (May 8, 2017) -- Located in a prime location in Vienna, ADMIRAL Arena Prater opened on May 1 following six months of conversion work to become the largest sports bar in Europe. The launch event was attended by around 3,500 guests as well as racing legend and NOVOMATIC brand ambassador Niki Lauda and NOVOMATIC AG CEO Harald Neumann.

A range of activities and events were on offer both outdoors and inside the venue – action stages, football modules, and autograph sessions by the Vienna Capitals ice hockey team, the Austrian woman’s national football team, as well as Rapid Vienna and FK Austria Wien football teams.

With ADMIRAL Arena Prater, HTM Hotel und Tourismusmanagement GmbH and ADMIRAL Sportwetten GmbH are setting new standards in the entertainment sector. The ADMIRAL Arena in Vienna’s Prater offers sports betting of the highest caliber over two floors covering a total area of 1,350 m2. At the centre of the venue, reminiscent of an American sports bar, there is a large, semi-circular bar with a 15 m2 LED wall in high definition picture quality. Another LED wall, and at 42 m2 is one of the largest LED walls in Europe, extends along the back wall. Here sporting events are broadcast in supreme quality from 9 am to midnight daily. This main wall is the size of a small flat with an approximate length of 15m and height of 3m, weighing around 2 tonnes. The wall consists of 180 individual panels with a total of 4,608,000 LED image points. About 6 km of cables were laid to operate the two LED walls.

The main wall can also be split into many different screens thanks to NOVOMATIC-developed software. "This means that, for instance, all Champions League games playing at the same time can be broadcast together – this broadcasting possibility is unique in Europe," said Harald Neumann.

The interior furnishings are also exceptional and exclusive in Austria. Guests can take a seat on comfortable furniture designed to reflect different sports, such as baseball, tennis or football. Around 70 betting terminals and a dedicated horse racing area are available for use by guests. A selection of Grand Prix race courses can be tested on a Red Bull Racing Seat, and an entertainment stage is available for all kinds of events. The high-tech furnishings around the whole arena enable every show to be broadcast simultaneously across all screens and LED walls.

ADMIRAL Arena Prater also provides a comprehensive range of culinary delights. In addition to breakfast offers and lunch menus, chef Alexander Zerava also prepares meals that are an absolute must for a sports bar: crispy chicken wings with homemade barbeque sauce, the famous ADMIRAL tartar, classic burgers and the president steak. This is accompanied by draft beers, including dedicated draft pumps on the tables, with trendy craft beers, as well as fresh lemonade with honey, ginger or basil.

Maryland Casinos Generate $135.7 Million in Revenue During April

MGM National Harbor brings in more than $49.9 million

BALTIMORE, Maryland (May 5, 2017) -- Maryland Lottery and Gaming today announced April 2017 revenue numbers for the state’s six casinos: Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City, Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County, Maryland Live Casino in Anne Arundel County, Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County, and MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County.

Maryland’s casinos totalled $135,714,016 in revenue during April 2017 – an increase of $31,822,792, or 30.6%, compared to the April 2016 figure of $103,891,224.

In a year-to-year comparison not including MGM National Harbor, which opened on Dec. 8, 2016, statewide casino revenue in April 2017 decreased by $18,121,282, or 17.4%.

MGM National Harbor generated $49,944,074 from both slot machines and table games in April. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day in April at MGM National Harbor was: $278.58 for slot machines, $5,813.39 for banked table games and $1,483.56 for non-banked table games. MGM National Harbor operates 3,139 slot machines and 165 (126 banked and 39 non-banked) table games.

Maryland Live Casino totalled $45,301,709 from both slot machines and table games in April. Maryland Live’s gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $245.35 for slot machines, $3,371.92 for banked table games and $907.36 for non-banked table games. April 2017 revenue at Maryland Live decreased by $12,489,539, or 21.6%, from April 2016. Maryland Live Casino operates 3,896 slot machines and 202 (150 banked and 52 non-banked) table games.

Horseshoe Casino Baltimore generated $24,592,713 from both slot machines and table games in April. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $207.31 for slot machines, $2,274.16 for banked table games and $685.31 for non-banked table games. Horseshoe Casino’s April 2017 revenue decreased by $5,655,472, or 18.7%, from April 2016. Horseshoe Casino Baltimore operates 2,202 slot machines and 177 (152 banked and 25 non-banked) table games.

Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $6,452,828 from both slot machines and table games in April. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $217.88 for slot machines, $2,231.22 for banked table games and $387.26 for non-banked table games. Hollywood Casino’s April 2017 revenue decreased by $557,344, or 8.0%, from April 2016. Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 850 slot machines and 20 (12 banked and 8 non-banked) table games.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort generated $4,592,180 from both slot machines and table games in April. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $198.72 for slot machines and $1,254.56 for banked table games. This facility does not have non-banked table games. Rocky Gap Casino Resort’s April 2017 revenue increased by $426,174, or 10.2%, from April 2016. Rocky Gap Casino Resort operates 662 slot machines and 17 table games.

Casino at Ocean Downs generated $4,830,514 from slot machines in April, and its gross gaming revenue per unit per day was $211.24. Casino at Ocean Downs’ April 2017 revenue increased by $154,899, or 3.3%, from April 2016. Casino at Ocean Downs operates 761 slot machines and does not have table games.

Under Maryland law, casino revenue supports the Maryland Education Trust Fund as well as small-, minority- and women-owned businesses, local impact grants, local jurisdictions and the state’s horse racing industry. April 2017 contributions to the state from all six Maryland casinos and fiscal year-to-date totals are documented in the attached spreadsheets and available online (click HERE).

Maryland Lottery and Gaming is responsible for oversight of the state’s casinos. In this role, the agency provides direction and guidance to its casino partners on financial, security, regulatory and licensing procedures for the facilities. Carolina Pick 4 players win $3.6 million with 6-6-6-6

Lucky winners have 180 days to collect prizes

RALEIGH, North Carolina (MAY 8, 2017) -- The numbers 6-6-6-6 in Sunday night’s Carolina Pick 4 drawing added up to a $3.6 million win for lottery players.

The drawing produced 1,060 winning tickets that matched all four numbers. The game’s top prize of $5,000 will go to players who hold one of the 396 winning $1 tickets purchased for the drawing. A $2,500 prize will go to players who hold one of the 664 winning 50 cent tickets.

The winning numbers, 6-6-6-6, are known as “Quads” among players of the Pick 4 game. Quads are some of the most popular combination of numbers played. The odds of matching all four numbers in the Pick 4 drawing are 1 in 10,000.

The prizes can be claimed beginning today at one of the lottery’s regional offices. The offices open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.

Lottery officials remind winners that they have 180 days to claim their prizes. Due to the large number of winners, players should expect extended waiting times to complete their claims if they choose to visit a regional office on Monday or Tuesday. Players must bring a Photo ID and proof of their Social Security number to complete their claims. Prizes can also be claimed by mail.

The record Pick 4 win occurred on Aug. 11, 2012 when the numbers 1-1-1-1 paid out $7.5 million in prizes.

NY Video Lottery Revenue Sets Record $2 Billion in Net Win

Combined Lottery Sales & VLT Net Win Contribute to Near-Record $9.67 Billion with $3.27 Billion for Schools

NEW YORK (May 10, 2017) --The New York State Gaming Commission announced today that New York Lottery sales and Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) net win in Fiscal Year 2016/17 generated a near-record amount with a combined total of $9.67 billion in revenue, including a new record for VLT net win.

All profits go directly to Aid to Education for New York’s public schools – meaning the New York Lottery earned $3.27 billion for distribution to all school districts in the state.

As the New York Lottery celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, it’s fitting that the numbers prove that New Yorkers continue to support the continent’s most profitable Lottery,” said Gweneth Dean, Director of the Commission’s Division of the Lottery.

For the past five decades, the New York Lottery has broken record-after-record to help taxpayers and students across the state. We will continue to innovate and deliver fun and exciting ways to play Lottery games while maximizing revenue to support education.”

VLT net win again broke records with another 0.5 percent on top of last year’s $1.98 billion for a total $2 billion. This past fiscal year, machines at Resorts World Casino New York City generated an additional $8.2 million over the previous year and Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway brought in another $20.9 million on top of FY 2015/16.

Traditional lottery games generated $7.68 billion in sales, keeping on track with last year’s record of $7.7 billion. This encompasses draw games such as Mega Millions, Powerball, Cash 4 Life, Lotto, Numbers, Win 4, Take Five, Pick 10, Quick Draw, and Instant Games.

Draw game sales held their own with $3.68 billion in FY 2016/17 against last year’s record-setting numbers $3.79 billion.

Instant games, also known as “scratch-offs” grew another 2.3 percent over last year’s record-breaking numbers, with $4 billion in FY 2016/17 as compared to $3.91 billion in FY 2015/16.
