New
Mexico State Bird Featured in New Lottery Game
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (March 6,
2018) -- The roadrunner is New Mexicos state bird and an iconic symbol
featured in the Lotterys logo design. Now, New Mexicos feathered
friend debuts on March 6 as the star of a new Scratcher, Roadrunner
Riches.
The game displays a southwest desert
with coyotes and cacti. Players scratch a path over a river and through the
desert for a chance to win a top prize of $25,000.
The game plays off the
roadrunners real-life diet of lizards and snakes. If the roadrunner
reaches the lizard at the end of the trail, a prize is won.
But even if the roadrunner
doesnt reach a lizard, a player can still win a bonus prize by collecting
four or more snakes on the three paths.
Two other new games are also on sale
this March; Lucky Me and Wild Doubler. Lucky
Me celebrates St. Patricks Day with lucky symbols of lady bugs,
pots of gold, jewelled sevens, horseshoes and top prizes of $7,000.
Wild Doubler is
available in four different colour schemes: yellow, orange, red, and blue with
green. This $1 Scratcher features top prizes of $2,500.
All three non-winning Scratchers are
eligible for entry in the VIP Club Points and Rewards Promotion for a chance to
win $5,000 or points for prizes.
Legislative Lottery Scholarships
All profits from the sale of New
Mexico Lottery games fund an in-state college tuition assistance program. Since
1996, the New Mexico Lottery has raised $758.9 million for education and more
than 116,000 students have attended college on Legislative Lottery
Scholarships.

Annual North American Regulators Roundtable
LAS VEGAS, NV (March 8, 2018)
More than 225 attendees from across the country and around the world converged
at the iconic Luxor Las Vegas on March 7th for the first day of Gaming
Laboratories Internationals (GLI®) 18th Annual Regulators Roundtable.
Among the attendees were some of the
most recognizable and influential Tribal gaming and state government
leaders.
Presented by GLI University® and
billed as the largest educational and networking event of its kind for gaming
and lottery industry regulators, the two-day conclave is a mix of informative
workshops and inspiring general sessions covering a wide range of
mission-critical topics, such as advanced game concepts, blockchain technology,
skill-based gaming, sports betting, eSports, and technical standards.
A packed general session heard Kerry
Bubolz, president of the Vegas Golden Knights NHL hockey team, for an
enthusiastically received keynote address highlighting the impact the Vegas
Golden Knights have had on both Las Vegas and the sport of hockey in their
inaugural year.

Then, GLI President and CEO James
Maida took the stage with an address focused on the theme, Everything we
do, we do for you. He said GLI is expanding its already world-class
capabilities with four independent organizations GLI, Bulletproof,
Kobetron, and SLI Compliance united by the common purpose of
continually serving clients better. Maida emphasized that GLIs nearly 30
years of experience, more than 1,100 global employees, and 21 laboratories are
unmatched in the industry.
Maida also stressed that because
bad guys are getting better, its more imperative than
ever for regulators to stay ahead of the game, because the risks are
too high for anything else. He noted that, based on client feedback,
GLI is focused on continuous improvement of people, products, and processes;
adding that GLI will be expanding its education through free industry leading
webinars, creating a technical point of contact for every regulator, and
increasing the number of regional seminars.
Attendees also enjoyed a
thought-provoking discussion by Maida and Chad Kornett, GLIs Director of
Technical Compliance, on the future of gaming innovation. Maida and Kornett
engaged in a lively interchange covering such hot-button issues as
cryptocurrency, sports betting, virtual reality, and the emergence of eSports
and skill-based gaming.
A highlight of the opening
days activities was the Innovation Room, where a large crowd of attendees
got a glimpse into the future of gaming technology. GLI brought the lab
to you with up-close-and-personal presentations from Bulletproof and
Kobetron. Additionally, students from UNLVs Center for Gaming Innovation
showcased new and emerging technologies.

North
Carolina Education Lottery Hits $20 Billion Sales Record
RALEIGH, North Carolina (March 5,
2018) -- On Saturday, March 3, the North Carolina Education Lottery set another
record, hitting $20 billion in sales.
This is an exciting
milestone for the lottery, said executive director Alice Garland.
Its evidence that our effort to create fun and exciting games
for our players is working.
The lottery started selling games
March 30, 2006 and has increased sales every year since inception. It reached
$20 billion in sales in just 4,357 days.
Those sales resulted in the lottery
raising over $5.6 billion for education in North Carolina.
We attribute this milestone
to the fact that were constantly looking for opportunities to engage our
players, Garland said. Whether its offering new ways
to play or giving away innovative prizes, we want to make sure our players have
a chance to dream a little.
At any given time, the lottery
offers 50 different scratch-off tickets at multiple price points. It launches
new games the first Tuesday of every month. The lottery has three multi-state
draw games and four state draw games including Keno, which launched in
October.
The lottery also makes sure it
offers once-in-a-lifetime prizes. It leverages marketing partnerships to offer
unique experiences for second-chance drawings. For example, players had the
chance to be the Honorary Starter or Grand Marshal at the NCEL 200 NASCAR race
at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, and one lucky player won Panther season
tickets for twenty years.
Since inception, the lottery has
given away over $12 billion worth of prizes.
When our players are
excited about the games and prizes we offer, sales increase and that means more
money for education, Garland said.

Winning means different things
to different people when it comes to playing the Lottery, said Bishop
Woosley, director of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. For some, winning
means an instant 100 dollars on a scratch-off game. For others, its a
life-changing million-dollar jackpot in a draw game. For thousands more,
winning means receiving a scholarship to attend college.
This is Winning will
include real Arkansas winners who share personal stories about how their lives
have benefitted from winning the Lottery or receiving a scholarship.
The first series in the campaign
will introduce a $50,000 Powerball ® winner, the director of the Arkansas
Coding Academy who went to college on a Lottery scholarship, and a scratch-off
winner who is also a competitive bowler.
The stories we have heard from
Arkansans about the impact that the Lottery has had on their lives have been
heart-warming, Woosley said. From entrepreneurs to students who are
the first in their families to attend college, we cant wait to share them
with you.
Lottery officials conducted video
interviews with people about their various winning experiences. Youll
soon be able to watch those over the next few months on TV, social media and
the Lotterys website.
Since its inception in 2009, the
Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has helped provide more than 275,000 Arkansas
Academic Challenge Scholarships totaling approximately $738 million.
More than $2.5 billion in prizes
have been awarded to players, providing participating Lottery retailers with
more than $214 million in commissions.
This is Winning can also
be measured in the $113 million of federal and state tax revenue generated,
which helps sustain the quality of life for Arkansans.

Iowa
Lottery is Finalist for International Gaming-Compliance Award for Work in
Investigation
Long-Running Case
Culminated In 2017 Guilty Pleas From Three Men
CLIVE, Iowa (March 2, 2018) -- The
Iowa Lottery is a finalist for an international gaming-compliance award for its
work in the long-running lottery jackpot investigation that uncovered fraud
against U.S. lotteries and resulted in guilty pleas from three men.
The Iowa Lottery is one of five
finalists for the 2018 award for outstanding achievement in compliance from
GamblingCompliance, which provides independent legal, regulatory, and business
intelligence to the global gambling industry.
GamblingCompliance presents annual
awards to recognize excellence in 11 categories focused on regulatory
compliance and responsible gaming. Its 2018 Global Regulatory Awards will be

The jackpot investigation culminated
in 2017 with guilty pleas from three men who admitted they illegally claimed
prizes by rigging lottery drawings in five states.
Eddie Tipton, the man at the center
of the investigation, installed malicious computer code that allowed him to
predict winning numbers in some lottery drawings.
Tipton pleaded guilty to three
felony charges in Iowa and Wisconsin and was sentenced in August 2017 to up to
25 years in prison.
He had conspired with friends and
family to claim lottery prizes in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Wisconsin and
attempt to claim a lottery jackpot in Iowa, which ultimately was not paid.
Tipton's younger brother, Tommy
Tipton, also pleaded guilty in the case, as did Tipton's long-time friend,
Robert Rhodes.

Standards Association Creates Landmark TPI (Third-Party Interface) Standard,
Streamlining iGaming Platform Interfaces
LAS VEGAS, NV (March 5, 2018)
The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) has created a new, landmark
specification, the TPI (Third-Party Interface) Standard, streamlining Remote
Gaming Servers to iGaming platform interfaces, and breaking down barriers to
entry for more game content suppliers
From a highly technical perspective,
GSAs TPI Standard is based on JSON, HTTP/REST, and WebSocket technology.
It describes a standardized interface between iGaming Platforms, Remote Game
Servers, and Progressive Jackpot Controllers for launching games, recording
monetary transactions, posting progressive contributions, awarding progressive
jackpots, reconciling interrupted games, etc.
From a laypersons perspective,
GSAs TPI Standard greatly enables operators access to new content to
retain current players and attract new players keeping them from defecting to
other online casinos. TPI accomplishes this by providing greater operator
access to content through faster integrations, eliminating barriers to entry
for content providers, and reducing ongoing multiple proprietary API support
costs.

Additionally, the specification
fully supports online gaming operations that service multiple jurisdictions,
allowing the activity associated with each jurisdiction to be easily isolated
and reported.
This is a major step
forward for the gaming industry generally and for the online gaming sector
specifically. Further fulfilling GSAs 20-year mission of enabling
interoperability, innovation, and unleashing creativity, our TPI Standard
streamlines the very essence of the iGaming platform, and kicks the door open
for more game content suppliers, said GSA President Peter
DeRaedt.
This is a win for operators
who want to better service their customers with a continuing stream of new
content; its a win for platform providers who can cut integration time
and support costs; and its a win for content suppliers who can now more
easily reach the marketplace. I am extremely proud of the hard work and
dedication of our volunteer team on GSAs Online Gaming
Committee, said GSA Europe Managing Director Mark Pace.
GSAs new TPI Standard is
available for license by members and non-members. Members can obtain this
standard by submitting a newly executed opt-in form that outlines the new
licensing requirements. If your organization is a member of GSA, send a request
to sec@gamingstandards.com and ask for a copy of the standard. If you have not
yet opted into the committee, you will be asked to do so, prior to being sent a
