Bill Allocates 1.5% of the Amount Collected from All Sweepstakes and Lottery Contests to the National Fund for Children and Adolescents
BRAZIL – Bill 46/20 allocates 1.5% of the amount collected from all prediction, sweepstakes and lottery contests held by Caixa Econômica Federal to the National Fund for Children and Adolescents.
In addition to sending 1.5% of the amount collected from all competitions held by Caixa Econômica Federal, the proposal also allocates 12% of the total prize resources of Caixa lotteries not sought by the winners to the fund.
Author of the proposal, deputy Alexandre Frota (PSDB-SP) says that the approval of the project would imply a significant increase in the revenues destined to the fund, whose main purpose is the promotion, protection and defence of the rights of children and adolescents.
Under analysis in the Chamber of Deputies, the text alters Law 8242/91, which instituted the fund.
The proposal will be analysed conclusively by the Social Security and Family commissions; Finance and Taxation; and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
