An update to players from Atlantic Lottery President and CEO Brent Scrimshaw

CANADA — Atlantic Lottery continues to closely monitor the ongoing situation related to COVID-19 as it develops. We committed to provide further updates on the measures we are taking to ensure the safety of our players, field staff and the public at large, which remains our singular priority.

Following the advice regarding social distancing from Health Canada and the provincial departments of Health, Atlantic Lottery has taken significant additional steps since our last statement.

First, the Red Shores Racetrack and Casino locations in Charlottetown and Summerside, P.E.I. have been closed as of March 15. This decision will remain in place for two weeks and will be reassessed on an ongoing basis.

Second, video lottery operations in all four Atlantic provinces have been suspended. The video lottery terminals were shut down at midnight March 15 and will remain suspended for two weeks.

Atlantic Lottery recognizes the economic implications this may have on our retail partners, and we look forward to working together again in the future.

Atlantic Lottery is also continually monitoring and evaluating the impact of COVID-19 on its employees in order to ensure their safety.

Based on the recent federal government advisory related to self-isolation, Atlantic Lottery is mandating a 14-day work from home period for any employees who return from international travel as of Saturday, March 14.

We continue to take additional cleaning and sanitization measures at our offices and are actively encouraging employees to work from home in order to limit the risk of exposure.

As always, we will provide further public updates as they arise during this rapidly changing situation. If you have any questions or comments for us, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Customer Care Centre at 1-800-561-3942 or INFO@ALC.CA. Our agents are available Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to midnight, Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to midnight.

We wish all of our players, retailers and their families well as our communities face these challenging circumstances.
