Nevada Gaming Control Board Issues Notice Concerning COVID-19
All Gaming Licensees and Other Interested Persons
NEVADA –The Nevada Gaming Control Board is issuing this notice due the increased number of inquiries regarding our expectation of licensees with respect to COVID-19 and in furtherance of the Board’s legislatively declared policy to protect the public health, safety, and general welfare where all gaming is
conducted. The issuance of this notice is not in response to a complaint or a concern regarding any licensee’s operations or practices regarding COVID-19.
The Board expects all licensees to continue to review and utilize its best efforts to comply with the Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19, published by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The Board expects all licensees to consistently monitor the CDC’s website for updates to its Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers, and to implement the following best practices:
- Perform routine environmental cleaning in accordance with the CDC’s Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection Recommendations.
- Actively encourage sick employees to stay home, emphasize respiratory etiquette, and hand hygiene.
- Advise employees before traveling to check the CDC’s Information for Travel.
- Ensure that an Infectious Disease Outbreak Response Plan, as described in the CDC’s Interim Guidance, is in place.
The Board has been in contact with the Governor’s Office, local and state health officials, and gaming operators relating to the continued spread of COVID-19.
We will continue to closely monitor the spread of COVID-19, and expect that licensees will make the health and safety of their employees and patrons the highest priority by providing them with every available opportunity to remain healthy.
