Lotto Rhineland-Palatinate Donates Protective Clothing for Auxiliary Workers
Gambling company supports fight against coronavirus
KOBLENZ, Germany — The fight against the spread of the corona virus is currently determining everyday life. The helpers in emergency services, aid organizations, hospitals and medical facilities play a very important role. Lotto Rhineland-Palatinate now wants to support them with protective clothing.
“Our company traditionally has a great social responsibility and has been making a great contribution to the common good for over 70 years,” says Managing Director Jürgen Häfner: “It is therefore a matter of course for us to support the organizations and people who are on the front line fight the spread of the virus and be there for those in need of urgent help.”
The Koblenz Glücksschmiede therefore donates 1,600 organic rain ponchos from its own stock to the DRK -Rettungsdienst Rhein-Mosel-Eifel gGmbH and the ADAC Luftrettung gGmbH.
Here the ponchos are used as protective clothing as part of disinfection measures and for reworking after infection transports.
A further 1,400 ponchos will be made available to the clinics and hospitals in the region.
“We are very pleased that, especially in this difficult time, we can once again count on the generous partnership support of Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz,” emphasizes Leo Biewer, President of the DRK district association in Koblenz.
Jens Schwietring, Regional Manager Medicine West at ADAC Luftrettung, also emphasized that the ponchos can be used sensibly – in addition to the existing protective clothing.
