September 9, 2021 | Lottery News

Top prizes range from $5,000 to $1 million; non-winning tickets can be entered into the $5 Million Vegas Challenge® Promotional Second-Chance Drawings

AUSTIN, Texas (September 2, 2021) – Playing for a jackpot doesn’t have to include waiting for a drawing. Starting Sept. 7, lottery players can scratch for one instantly when they play any of the new Jackpot scratch ticket games from the Texas Lottery. The four-game family, with tickets priced from $1 to $20, is loaded with more than $318.1 million in total cash prizes, including top prizes ranging from $5,000 to $1 million.

In addition, Texas Lottery® players can enter their non-winning tickets into the $5 Million Vegas Challenge® Promotional Second-Chance Drawings for a chance to win a $100 cash prize plus an entry into a second drawing for a trip for two to Las Vegas to play the $5 Million Vegas Challenge®.

“The Texas Lottery just completed another record-breaking year for lottery sales and we believe the new Jackpot family of scratch ticket games, along with the $5 Million Vegas Challenge® second-chance promotion, will get the 2022 fiscal year off to a very strong start as we look towards generating another record contribution for Texas public education over the next year,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery. “While we wish our players good luck as they enjoy the new Jackpot scratch ticket games, we want to remind them to play responsibly. It only takes one ticket to win.”

The four-game Jackpot family of scratch ticket games includes:

  • $1,000,000 Jackpot offers more than $148.1 million in total cash prizes throughout the game. The $20 game in the family features 30 chances to win a cash prize, including one of four $1 million top prizes.
  • $500,000 Jackpot comes with 25 chances to win a cash prize on every ticket. With more than $99.5 million in total prizes available in the $10 game, there are six top prizes worth $500,000.
  • $200,000 Jackpot has over $60.6 million in total cash prizes up for grabs in the game. The $5 game features 20 chances to win a cash prize on every ticket, including one of nine top prizes worth $200,000. SCRATCH A JACKPOT ON FOUR NEW TEXAS LOTTERY® GAMES/Page 2
  • $5,000 Jackpot contains more than $9.9 million in total cash prizes throughout the game, including 20 top prizes worth $5,000. The cost to play is only $1.

Jackpot scratch ticket players that enter non-winning tickets into the $5 Million Vegas Challenge® Promotional Second-Chance Drawings through their Luck Zone accounts will receive a number of entries based on the price point of the entered ticket— e.g., a $1,000,000 Jackpot ticket ($20 price point) earns the player 20 entries in the drawing, a $5,000 Jackpot ticket ($1 price point) earns the player one entry in the drawing, etc. The entry deadlines for the first four separate second-chance drawings are: Oct. 1, Oct. 29, Nov. 26 and Dec. 31. The entry deadline for the fifth drawing will be scheduled once the end-of-game dates for the games are determined by the Texas Lottery.

All four Jackpot games are available where Texas Lottery scratch ticket games are sold.
