RIJSWIJK, Netherlands (September 10, 2021) — The Nederlandse Loterij is one of the initiators and a member of the trade association Licensed Dutch Online Gaming Providers (VNLOK). An association for providers of online games of chance with a license from the Gaming Authority.

VNLOK stands for proper regulation of the online gambling market and a responsible and safe offer. The initiators have each applied for a license to be able to offer online games of chance as of 1 October. Applications are currently on going and it is not known which providers will receive a permit.

Niels Onkenhout, CEO of the Dutch Lottery, about VNLOK’s Advertising Code for Online Gaming: “As a sector, we stand for responsible gaming, even if the market for online games of chance opens on October 1 and there are dozens of providers.

That is why we support the advertising code, with which we limit the number of advertisements for online gambling. A new market requires new rules so that we limit the risk of gambling addiction as much as possible.”
