Dutch Lottery May Offer Online Games of Chance from 1 October
RIJSWIJK, Netherlands (September 29, 2021) — The Dutch Lottery may offer online games of chance from 1 October 2021. The Gaming Authority (Ksa) has granted the Dutch Lottery a license for this. From that date, the Dutch Lottery is allowed to offer live sports betting and online casino games.
Niels Onkenhout, CEO of Nederlandse Loterij: “I am proud that we can add online games of chance to the varied range of games offered by Nederlandse Loterij. We have 295 years of experience in offering games of chance, which many Dutch people enjoy every day. We stand for responsible gaming; participating is fun and should remain fun. Every year we pay out millions in prize money with all our game brands and we give back almost our entire result to Dutch society. That makes the Nederlandse Loterij a unique provider, also of online games of chance.”
Remote Gambling Act (Koa) has been in force since 1 April. This law makes it possible for licensed companies to offer online games of chance. At the beginning of April, 29 companies submitted a license application to the Ksa. The Dutch Lottery is one of the first ten licensees for offering online games of chance.
