The Gaming Inspectorate Outlines Updated Strategy for Work Against Illegal Gambling Activities
STRÄNGNÄS, Sweden (October 6, 2021) — A prerequisite for the goals in the gaming regulation to be achieved is that those who conduct gaming operations in Sweden have a Swedish license.
The Swedish Gaming Inspectorate, therefore, prioritizes such measures that contribute to gambling taking place with these players.
An important part of the work is to take action against illegal gambling activities. Our updated strategy document describes how we work against illegal online gambling.
The Swedish Gaming Inspectorate monitors the development of the gaming market and investigates how we can stop gambling in various ways without a Swedish license. But for us to succeed, we also need collaboration with other authorities, organizations and not least with the actors who have a Swedish license.
The Swedish Gaming Inspectorate clarifies who conducts illegal gambling activities online by publishing decisions banning these players on our website. In this way, we also enable other actors to act.
