Montana Bettors Rushed to Football Bets

HELENA, Montana (October 20, 2021) ¬†— Sports Bet Montana paid out more than $884,000 to Montana players, while Montana small businesses earned more than $66,000 in betting commissions.

Once again, football claimed the lion’s share of bets, at more than 70 percent.

In total, Montana bettors wagered $942,898 last week, with $884,071 paid out to winners. Retail commission totalled $56,600 for the week.

Sports Bet Montana, powered by the Montana Lottery, was launched after legislation passed in 2019 became law.

Sports Bet was designed to benefit Montana players, Montana businesses and Montana citizens.

The Montana Lottery was created by citizen’s referendum in 1986.

Since then, it has paid over $694 million in prizes and returned approximately $289 million to the State of Montana and $78 million in retailer commissions.
