The Hoosier Lottery Reminds Players of Positive Play Tools for National Financial Literacy Month

INDIANAPOLIS (April 1, 2022) – The Hoosier Lottery, recipient of World Lottery Association Level 4 Certification through 2024 for achieving the highest level of responsible gaming, is again participating in National Financial Literacy Month awareness efforts to emphasize positive play.

National Financial Literacy Month first began in April 2004 to highlight the importance of understanding financial decision making and teach Americans how to create and maintain good financial habits.

The Hoosier Lottery promotes positive play messaging with numerous tools and resources to help players know their game, set limits, and keep lottery play fun. Players can access these free resources on HoosierLottery.com/PositivePlay.

Content includes a series of Positive Play and Odds videos, digital Track Your Play Calculator, Financial Literacy Course, and Positive Play Quiz for players to assess their responsible gaming knowledge and behaviors about playing the lottery. For those who need additional resources, the Problem Gambling Helpline is available by calling 1-800-994-8448 or via online chat.

The Track Your Play Calculator helps players calculate how much they are spending while playing lottery games. The free Financial Literacy Course designed by Ivy Tech provides players an understanding of how money fits into everyday life plus gives the knowledge needed to play lottery games positively. Topics help participants learn to make educated financial decisions by explaining how to read a credit report and make wise investments, plan a budget, as well as providing tips for buying a car, picking a mortgage lender, and choosing the right financial institution for individual needs.

Additionally, the Hoosier Lottery’s annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report provides up-to-date information on how the Hoosier Lottery is impacting players, businesses and the community.
