Sports Bet Montana Rewards Players, Businesses

HELENA, Montana (April 14, 2022) — Sports Bet Montana paid out just over $569,500 to Montana bettors in the last week while retailers earned more than $36,000 in commission.

Basketball takes first place with a 32 percent handle for the week ending April 11, baseball closely behind with a 31 percent handle. Golf settles in third with a 20 percent handle, MMA concluding with a 6 percent handle and hockey finishing with 5 percent of total bets wagered.

Bettors pocketed $569,567 in the last week while retailers saw over $36,000 in commission.

Sports Bet Montana, powered by the Montana Lottery, was launched after legislation passed in 2019 became law. Sports Bet was designed to benefit Montana players, Montana businesses and Montana citizens.

The Montana Lottery was created by citizen’s referendum in 1986. Since then, it has paid over $774 million in prizes and returned approximately $302 million to the State of Montana and $83 million in retailer commissions.
