HELENA, Montana (December 28, 20220 – The Montana Lottery today released sports wagering data for the week ending December 26:

  • Handle: $1,455,858
  • Payout: $1,269,888
  • Gross Gaming Revenue: $185,970
  • Sales Agent Commissions: $43.7K

The top three sports by percent of the total handle were:

  • Football (54%)
  • Basketball (38%)
  • Hockey (3%)

The Montana Lottery was created by a citizen’s referendum in 1986. Since then, it has paid over $774 million in prizes and returned approximately $302 million to the State of Montana and $83 million in retailer commissions.
