Nearly Half of Minnesota Voters Say Sports Gambling Should be Legalized in the State
About 1 in 5 Minnesotans were undecided on the issue.
Minnesota (September 18, 2022) — Nearly half of Minnesota voters say sports gambling should be legalized in the state, but the two bodies could not reach an agreement before the session ended. Sports betting is now legal in more than 30 states, including Minnesota’s neighbors.
In the Minnesota Poll, men were more likely than women to support legalizing sports gambling, and the issue was supported by Democrats, Republicans and independents. Minnesotans ages 18-34 were less likely to support legalizing sports gambling than older groups.
