Coljuegos Continues to Reach the Colombian Regions to Strengthen Legality in Games of Luck and Chance

The Government of Córdoba signs the Agreement for Legality in games of luck and chance 2022

Bogota DC, Colombia (September 19, 2022) — In the department of Córdoba, there are 24 authorized localized gaming operators that have 1,564 electronic slot machines in 61 establishments, 236 Baloto points of sale, 2,635 SUPER astro points of sale, 263 online points of sale and 1,885 permanent bettors.

In the department of Córdoba we have carried out 41 operations that have allowed us to withdraw 544 elements of games of chance that were operating illegally. This, if it were legal, monetizing it corresponds to about $8,182 million pesos for exploitation rights that the department has stopped receiving, plus VAT, which is estimated at $3,157 million pesos.

Montería, September 16, 2022. The president of Coljuegos, César Augusto Valencia Galiano, and the Secretaries of the Treasury, Natalia Figueroa, and Secretary of the Interior and Citizen Participation, Jairo Baquero, delegates of the Governor of Córdoba, Orlando David Benítez Mora, signed a new pact for legality in games of luck and chance, an agreement of wills with which they sealed the commitment to make legality a banner of social and economic development for this area of ​​the country.

The Secretary of the Treasury, Natalia Figueroa, indicated that the signing of this pact is a forceful action by the departmental administration to combat illegality on all fronts “It is an honor to sign this pact that goes hand in hand with the mission of the government, we are an entity that works as a team and that seeks to strengthen the health system of the people of Cordoba, combating illegality in games of luck and chance”.

Likewise, the secretary of the interior and citizen participation, Jairo Baquero, emphasized the articulated work that from today is strengthened with the regulatory entity “in the next few days we will be installing the technical table in our region, in order to promote concrete actions of legality in the department, we will work hand in hand with Coljuegos and the National Police so that the legality in games of luck and chance is a new flag of our administration”.

The pacts for legality are part of an initiative led by Coljuegos to encourage the generation of a culture of legality for games of luck and chance throughout the national territory.

“The purpose of establishing these voluntary agreements is to reach the territories carrying the flag of legality as an essential component of the National Government. Our commitment is to build a change for people through the pillars of equality, and social and economic justice. Games of luck and chance are a monopoly of the State, whose primary purpose is to generate resources to finance the health of Colombians, which is why the entity promotes legal and responsible gambling to continue fulfilling our missionary purpose” César Augusto Valencia Galiano.

The 30 municipalities of the department and the Government of Córdoba in the years 2020, 2021 and so far in 2022, have received about $50,089 million pesos from the games of chance sector, for the different concepts (exploitation rights, tax on winners, unclaimed and foreign prizes) resources that have been allocated for health through the Administrator of the Resources of the General System of Social Security in health, ADRESS, of the National Pension Fund of the Public Territorial Entities, FONPET and directly to the municipalities.
