A brief history
Gambling in Croatia has a really long history. Our archive says that games of chance have been organized in us since 1951. That year, the Directorate for Croatia was established within the Yugoslav Lottery. Even then, we offered games that you still know us today: luck, sports forecast and lotto. The change came in 1973 – the year from which we exist as an independent organization and as part of the Business Union of Yugoslav Lottery Organizations.
From the beginning of independence and in 1973 we started to introduce a number of different products. So until 1992 we introduced the games that are our home sign: Lotto 6/45, Instant and Express lottery, Commodity lottery, Tombola, Bingo and games of chance on slot machines and casinos.
A new change came in 1993, when we changed our name to Hrvatska Lutrija doo. And again we expanded the range of games: today we have bookmakers, casinos, Keno, TV Bingo…
