About SZERENCSEJÁTÉK ZRT.
The national Lottery of Hungary
Szerencsejáték Zrt. Is a 100% state-owned national gambling company, the 19th largest company in Hungary. Our offer includes lottery games, lottery tickets and sports betting products, which is associated with one of the largest sales networks in the country, with more than 7,700 sales points. As a responsible gaming operator, we provide legal gambling opportunities for anyone over the age of 18.
We started our operation on January 1, 1991, and from August 1, 2018, the ownership rights and obligations of the state will be exercised by the Minister without portfolio responsible for the management of national property until December 31, 2022.
Every year, our company makes a significant contribution to the stable economic growth of the country, to the financing of community expenditures, to the priority support and achievements of the Hungarian culture, social and health fields and sports. Following European standards, we return about two-thirds of our net gaming revenue – in the form of taxes, fees, contributions, dividends – to the state budget to fund public purposes.
We are proud
Primarily to our nearly 1,700 employees , to whom we owe our results and successes. Our company has earned many awards and honorable titles in recent years, which we are proud of one by one.
It is important for our company to be involved in solving social problems as a responsible employer. Since 2003 – for 17 years – we have been maintaining our charitable network of disabled employees , which employs about 10 percent of the 1,700 employees, roughly 170 of their fellow ticket sellers.
Our company is a valued member of the European Lotteries Association (EL) and the World Lottery Association (WLA) community. Among other things, these collaborations have made it possible for us to be part of the Eurojackpot game, organized jointly by 32 European lottery companies, from 2014 onwards.
