New National Risk Assessment on Money Laundering
DENMARK (January 13, 2023) — On the 12th of January 2023, the Danish Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) published a new national risk assessment on money laundering. The new national risk assessment replaces the previous risk assessment from 2018.
Gambling operators must include national risk assessments in their risk assessment of their own businesses. Gambling operators must ensure that their risk assessments reflect their current risk profile at all times, and therefore the release of the new national risk assessment can occasion a revision of their own risk assessment.
Gambling operators must be aware that their risk assessment must be reassessed at least once a year as a rule, or in connection with changes to the risk factors. For example, when a new product is introduced or in connection with the release of new national or supranational risk assessments.
