Anyone who tried to access their lottery account in the past few days may have received an error message. The reason was a cyber attack.

Magdeburg, Germany (January 2, 2023) – The lottosachsenanhalt.de internet gaming service was shut down as a precaution on the afternoon of December 31, 2022. It’s been back online since noon today.

Conspicuous, unauthorized access attempts had previously been registered. (Massive attempts to register with false names/wrong passwords) The internet games offered by LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt are operated by a clientele consisting of a total of seven state lottery companies.

LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt asks all online customers to check or change their passwords regularly. Some accounts have been blocked as a precaution. A new password must now be generated here. Affected customers will be informed the next time they register.

“Wherever customers are online with their personal data, there are risks,” said Lotto Managing Director Stefan Ebert. “We are working on minimizing these and react immediately if any abnormalities are noticed.”

At LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt, approx. 7% of the stakes are generated via lottosachsenanhalt.de – or an average of 35,000 euros per day.
