Sports Bet Montana Rewards Players, Businesses: Basketball Remains on Top!

HELENA, Montana (March 20, 2023) – The Montana Lottery today released sports wagering data for the week ending March 18:

  • Handle: $1,632,514
  • Payout: $1,297,962
  • Gross Gaming Revenue: $334,552
  • Sales Agent Commissions: $49,000

The top three sports by per cent of total handle were:

  • Basketball (85%)
  • Hockey (6%)
  • Soccer (2%)

The Montana Lottery’s sports wagering product, Sports Bet Montana, was launched after legislation passed in 2019 became law. To access an archive of Sports Bet Montana data, click here.

The Montana Lottery was created by a citizen’s referendum in 1986. Since then, it has paid over $774 million in prizes and returned approximately $302 million to the State of Montana and $83 million in retailer commissions.
