1. National lottery sales

　　In April, a total of 50.326 billion yuan of lottery tickets were sold across the country ^[1] , a year-on-year increase of 19.254 billion yuan or 62.0%. Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions were 15.597 billion yuan, an increase of 3.628 billion yuan or 30.3% year-on-year; the sales of sports lottery institutions were 34.729 billion yuan, an increase of 15.626 billion yuan or 81.8% year-on-year. The main reason is that due to factors such as the driving effect of sports events and the promotion of lottery games, the guessing lottery and instant lottery have grown rapidly.

　　Cumulatively from January to April, a total of 175.150 billion yuan of lottery tickets were sold nationwide, an increase of 57.833 billion yuan or 49.3% year-on-year. Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions were 55.394 billion yuan, an increase of 6.753 billion yuan or 13.9% year-on-year; the sales of sports lottery institutions were 119.756 billion yuan, an increase of 51.08 billion yuan or 74.4% year-on-year.

　　In April, compared with the same period of the previous year, the lottery sales in all provinces of the country increased. Among them, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Shandong increased more, with year-on-year increases of 1.925 billion yuan, 1.597 billion yuan, 1.457 billion yuan and 1.413 billion yuan respectively.
