ASX Announcement: NSW Gaming Minister Report – Implementation of Bell Recommendations

SYDNEY, NSW (August 29, 2023) — The Star Entertainment Group Limited (The Star) notes the report of the NSW Gaming Minister which has today appeared on the NSW Parliament website titled “Report on the implementation of recommendations from the Independent Review of The Star Pty Ltd by Adam Bell SC under section 170A of the Casino Control Act 1992” (Report).

The Report sets out the NSW Gaming Minister’s progress in addressing the recommendations contained in the final report of the review of The Star Pty Ltd by Mr Adam Bell SC (Bell Report). The Report, amongst other matters, details the further work that has been done to implement each Bell Report recommendation, and notes that 22 of the 30 recommendations have been implemented and eight remain in progress. In relation to progress on implementations of the Bell Report recommendations, the Report notes: “…many of the recommendations are multi-faceted, with complex workstreams which require longer time frames to allow for effective implementation and monitoring. In addition, many of the recommendations are expected to be built into The Star’s remediation plan which is in the process of being finalised.”

The Star continues to engage with the appointed Manager and relevant regulators in relation to its remediation initiatives.
