CT Sports Betting Venue at Hartford’s XL Center is Planned for Opening September 18

HARTFORD, CT (September 1, 2023) — According to local media reports a new sports bar and betting venue is set to open at the XL Center in Hartford. The venue has been in preparation for about a year and covers 5,000 square feet inside the XL Center. It has the capacity to accommodate 300 people who can enjoy food, drinks, and gambling.

The soft launch is scheduled for the upcoming weekend, and the grand opening is planned for September 18. Michael Freimuth, from the Capital Region Development Authority, expressed optimism about this new venture generating additional revenue for the building. He mentioned that the goal is to provide the XL Center with a new purpose, attracting visitors on days when there are no games or events taking place.

The venue features 12 machines and 86 screens, offering a distinct way to engage in sports betting compared to using mobile apps. Freimuth mentioned that this setup is somewhat experimental, and its success isn’t entirely certain.

The target audience for these gambling companies appears to be young men. As sports betting gains popularity in Connecticut, the hope is that this new sports bar and betting venue will tap into this growing trend and offer a unique experience for visitors.
