The Netherlands (August 31, 2023) — The Netherlands-based lottery firm, Nederlandse Loterij’s subsidiary sports betting brand, Toto has announced a sponsorship association with the top-flight women’s football league in the Netherlands, Eredivisie Vrouwen or Eredivisie Women.
In this development, the brand has been named the principal partner of the Dutch women’s league.
This new sponsorship deal comes after a string of sponsored activations for Toto in Dutch women’s football, with partners including PSV, ADO Den Haag, Heerenveen, and FC Twente.
Furthermore, the news comes at a pivotal time for the Women’s Eredivisie, as the professional football league commences the 2023–24 season with the vital assistance of broadcaster ESPN, which will display double the amount of live games on the Azerion platform.
The Toto partnership will allow ESPN to stream a live game on free-to-air television every Saturday.
Toto has also stated its dedication to collaborating extensively with Azerion and the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) in order to meet all stakeholder objectives for the next Women’s Eredivisie season.
Joost Zuure, Head of Sponsorship at Nederlandse Loterij, commented, “As the biggest supporter of sport, Nederlandse Loterij wants everyone to play sports and move. We contribute to this every year by passing on a large part of our proceeds to sport. Moreover, we explicitly support women’s soccer. Also with our game TOTO, as sponsor of four Women’s Eredivisie clubs and as of this season as proud partner of the Azerion Women’s Eredivisie. More exposure makes the Azerion Women’s Eredivisie the inspiration for every soccer player.”
