Sports Bet Montana: Football Takes the Lead!

Sports Bet Montana rewards players, businesses

HELENA, Montana (September 12, 2023) – The Montana Lottery today released sports wagering data for the week ending September 9:

  • Handle: $1,317,169
  • Payout: $1,077,137
  • Gross Gaming Revenue: $240,032
  • Sales Agent Commissions: $39,500

The top three sports by percent of total handle were:

  • Football (61%)
  • Baseball (27%)
  • Tennis (5%)

The Montana Lottery’s sports wagering product, Sports Bet Montana, launched after legislation passed in 2019 became law. To access an archive of Sports Bet Montana data, click here.

The Montana Lottery was created by a citizen’s referendum in 1986. Since then, it has paid over $853 million in prizes and returned approximately $320 million to the State of Montana and $90 million in sales agent commissions.
