The Swedish Gaming Authority’s Consultation Response to the Ministry of Finance’s Memorandum Fi2023/02022

Strängnäs, Sweden (September 26, 2023) — In memorandum Fi2023/02022, it is proposed that the penalty fee for violations of the Money Laundering Act should be able to amount to the same maximum amount as for violations of the Gambling Act. It is also proposed that a written requirement be introduced for telephone sales of gaming services.

The proposals in the memorandum aim to strengthen consumer protection in the field of gambling and combat criminal activity in connection with gambling for money.
