The Wisconsin Lottery is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Game Development Coordinator, who will be responsible for the development and enhancement of Lottery games in this unique and challenging marketing position.

This Game Development Coordinator position is classified as a Marketing Specialist – Senior and is responsible for developing prize structures and basic design of the instant (scratch and pull-tab) and lotto (terminal-generated) games, as well as monitoring marketing support for those games throughout their product lifecycles. This position will also play an important role in identifying key factors for player education and recommending game design and marketing strategies; utilizing research and analytical skills by monitoring and analyzing industry trends; and reviewing market research to make recommendations to improve the Lottery’s game mix.

The Wisconsin Lottery is a for-profit consumer products business within state government that sells its fun and entertaining products via a network of nearly 4,000 retailers with almost $900 million in annual sales. You would be joining a strong product development team who works within the Lottery brand to develop original products that will be sold across Wisconsin. Position Summary

This position is responsible for the development of Lottery products that meet projected sales and marketing goals according to the Lottery’s short-term and long-term game plans. These responsibilities involve developing the prize structures and basic design of the instant (scratch and pull-tab) and lotto games, as well as prize giveaways and other marketing support for those games. Responsibilities also involve identifying key factors for player education, and recommending game design strategies to the Section Supervisor.

In addition, this position monitors and analyzes industry trends as well as market research and makes recommendations to improve the Lottery’s game mix.  This position interfaces with other Lottery staff in launching and marketing new games as well as existing games.

Salary Information 

Starting salary will be between $34.87 and $36.00 per hour ($72,529 and $74,880 per year), depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits. For information on state benefits click here.  Current state employees’ pay will be set in accordance with pay upon appointment provisions for the compensation plan for broadband 07-03. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have:


  • Marketing experience (e.g., new product development, product management, marketing communications/advertising, product positioning, etc.).
  • Experience using Excel spreadsheet software (e.g., creating, sorting, keying data, entering formulas, etc.) and word processing software.
  • Project coordination experience (e.g., scope, roles and responsibilities, scheduling, budgeting, project evaluations, meeting deadlines, etc.).

Well-qualified candidates will also have:

  • Experience developing or enhancing the design of a product.
  • Experience evaluating products or services (e.g., sales performance trends, identifying strengths/weaknesses, etc.).
  • Experience providing marketing recommendations based on data, analyses, and/or reports from various sources.
