Ksa Issue Instruction for Holland Casino for Control Database Shortcomings
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (November 16, 2023) — De Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) issued a notice to Holland Casino in June because its control database (CDB) does not meet the legal requirements. The Ksa requires Holland Casino that the CDB meets the requirements within six weeks.
Providers with a license for online gambling in the Netherlands must have a CDB. They store data from gambling activities in this data vault. Various legal requirements are imposed on this CDB. The CDB is used by the Ksa for supervision. An up-to-date CDB with the correct data is important to guarantee safe playing.
The Ksa has determined that Holland Casino’s CDB does not meet the requirements. The binding instruction from June states that this must be adjusted within six weeks.
Holland Casino has objected to the decision and requested a provisional injunction. The six-week period was suspended during this procedure. On November 16, the District Court of The Hague rejected the requests for interim relief. Therefore, the decision can now be published and the six-week period will continue.
If Holland Casino does not comply with the instruction, the Ksa can take other measures, such as imposing a penalty or an administrative fine, or in extreme cases, revocation of the license for online gambling.
