Dutch Gaming Authority Imposes a Penalty on Casbit Group NV for Illegal Offer
Offering games of chance without the required permit is prohibited in the Netherlands. The Ksa calls on Casbit with an order subject to a penalty to immediately stop the illegal offer and to keep it stopped. If this is not complied with, a penalty of €280,000 per week with a maximum of €840,000 will be imposed.
The Ksa informed Casbit at an earlier stage that it intended to impose an order subject to penalty. The illegal provider responded by making the website inaccessible to players from the Netherlands. Upon re-inspection, playing from the Netherlands was still possible, so the penalty was actually imposed.
Strict rules and regulations apply to offering games of chance with a license. These are aimed at providing a safe legal offer, where players are assured of fair play and are protected against gambling addiction. Offering illegal games of chance undermines that system and the safety of the player and the Ksa therefore strictly enforces this.
