The Ward Family Foundation is dedicated to youth character development through sports, education, the arts, and wellness. Participants at the Father’s Day clinic rotated through various stations and received basketball instruction and insights from guest speakers on topics such as teamwork and education. This year’s clinic featured a new station on the application of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) to basketball, including lessons on physics and digital technology.

During the clinic, Florida Lottery representatives Randy Fox and Gina Blanton, both with the Partnerships & Engagements team, and Misty Bull, Tallahassee District Manager, provided information about scholarship opportunities through the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program, which the Lottery primarily funds. They also awarded two students with Bright Futures medallions.

“We are grateful for the Florida Lottery’s support of our programs,” Ward said, “and we’re excited that attendees had the chance to learn about how the Bright Futures Scholarship Program can help them achieve their educational and career goals.”

The clinic was open to youth ages 7 through 18 accompanied by their fathers or male mentors. The clinic was held from 1-3:30 p.m. In addition to skills training and motivational talks, the event featured exciting giveaways and the announcement of the winner of the Ward Family Foundation’s “Championship Breakfast” Student Logo Design Contest.
