National Revenue Agency and the Customs Agency Launch Joint Campaign to Counter Gambling, Drug Addiction
SOFIA (July 15, 2024) — The National Revenue Agency (NRA) and the Customs Agency are joining forces to prevent and counter gambling and drug addiction, NRA said on its website on Monday. The two revenue agencies are merging their campaigns targeting adolescents, with the joint initiative remaining under the slogan “You are not alone”.
The “You are not alone” campaign was created 23 years ago by Stefan Bakalov, head of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Department at the Customs Agency. The initiative is aimed at preventing drug addiction among young people and includes presentations and demonstrations in various schools across the country.
For several years, as a regulatory authority in the field of gambling, the NRA has also been conducting initiatives related to the prevention of gambling addiction.
It is the intention of the NRA and the Customs Agency that by bringing the two campaigns together, their message of “no to gambling and drug addiction” will reach a wider range of adolescents. To this end, the two institutions are launching channels on Tik-Tok and Instagram where young people will be able to see and hear influencers, favourite faces from the screen, music, fashion and theatre stage. Through the social networks most popular among adolescents, the NRA and the Customs Agency will inform followers of all news related to the campaign, upcoming concerts and events, and also make them complicit in countering drug and gambling addiction.
The first big event, part of the united campaign “You are not alone”, is on August 16 in Nessebar. It is organized with the support of Nessebar Municipality.
