Risk Analyses Still Often Insufficient: Ksa Issues Four Warnings
Following a signal about possible match-fixing risks, the Ksa launched a market-wide investigation in 2023. This resulted in extensive guidance at the beginning of 2024, which the Ksa sent by letter to the current providers of online sports betting. The Ksa recently conducted a targeted follow-up investigation. For this purpose, data was requested from various license holders about risk analyses on a specific match in a foreign competition. In four cases, the associated analysis appeared not to have been carried out correctly and/or not interpreted correctly. The Ksa issued a warning to all four providers where this was the case. In the future, the Ksa will continue to request random analyses from providers to check whether the legal requirements are being met.
