Texas Lottery Commission Honored with A Davey Award
Agency has been named a Silver Winner for its in-house creative work
AUSTIN, Texas (October 24, 2024) — The Texas Lottery Commission’s creative in-house video efforts have been recognized with a Davey Award, which honors the best creative and marketing work by internal brand teams, small production companies and boutique agencies. The agency was named a Silver Winner in the Online Film & Video category for “Best Use of Graphics” in a short video promoting its Year of the Dragon scratch ticket game.
“We take great pride in our in-house productions, creating high quality videos that both inform and entertain our players,” said Ryan Mindell, executive director of the Texas Lottery. “This Davey Award is a tribute to the skills, dedication and hard work of our talented staff.”
The 20th Annual Davey Awards were announced on Oct. 22 by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed brands and media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms.
The Texas Lottery Commission’s award-winning video was conceptualized by the agency’s Media Relations Division and was produced and edited internally by Texas Lottery editor and videographer Philip Bates, with no production costs incurred by the agency.
This is the second time the Texas Lottery has been recognized for its creative work in as many months. In September, the agency received a pair of top lottery industry awards from the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL), for the launch of its Lady Luck 777 scratch ticket game and for the radio advertising of its holiday scratch ticket games in 2023. The agency was also a finalist for eight additional NASPL Awards.
Earlier this month, the Texas Lottery announced it had achieved its second-best year for total sales and revenue in Fiscal Year 2024, recording $8.39 billion in sales, with more than $2 billion generated for the State of Texas to support public education and veterans’ services.
